I just bought a Toyota 4Runner.
Stuffed jalapeños - get a "dome" cover use a bit of water to steam the peppers on the griddle.
What a great wheeling trip with friends, and an adorable puppy! Congrats to Olive for making the trip. That food looks delicious. Safe travels at Big Bear TrailRecon 🎉
It was a great trip for sure. Thank you!
Great video. The two Toyotas are the perfect trail couple. Also love the 4 Runner. It doesn't need all the expensive stuff to get out.
It was an amazing time getting to hang out with you guys! Can’t wait for the next time! 🙏🏽
This channel has inspired me to start my 2001 xj build again. Can't wait to get back on the trail
So cool to see Jordan posting and that was exactly the right kind of trip with your fellow enlisted. Thank you both for your service and also the content. I will have to try the cheese hack next time!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it
Just goes to show that you don't need 39" tires and a massive lift to go have fun.
My tip for Coco(?) if you can, put the double seat down and utilise that space to the back door, it's going to be flatter and hopefully longer, if not, steal one of Brad's tents for the trip! Jordan, treasure your dad! Great to hijack their camp! 😀
Finally a Toyota channel go the boys lol
Jordan, I sure love your puppy, Olive, she is so cute. Nice to see you get out on an adventure with a good friend.
Thank you! Olive is a great dog for sure
MORE COCO! MORE COCO! 🇵🇭
Very cool Coco going out with a stock 4runner and basic gear. Does not require built vehicles and gucci gear.
Just get out there and have fun!!
Xlnt video. Hey watch out for rattlesnakes with that beautiful pup brother.
Awesome as always. Thanks for sharing and taking us along
I love the Wright mine area. That final narrow shelf to the mine is amazing.
really enjoyed this video... and thank you so much for rescuing Olive!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Of all the gear. trucks and tools my outright favorite accessory by far was the pup!
My favorite too!
PUPPY! 🐶
Welcome Coco to the off-roading world. You’re always going to have a blast on all these great trails. Have fun and keep safe Coco!!
I like the pup, Olive! 🫒 🐶
Nice adventure video with the yotas! Great looking 4 Runner. Hope to see more of these two as the skills and builds develop over time!
I was just in Big Bear also, in 1969! Good video
What a beautiful puppy!
See one, do one, teach one. BTW….rescue/pound dogs make the best!
She's great, super smart and friendly. Glad I was able to rescue her
Cute pup! Very well behaved too.
Pretty impressed for her first time out, she's a quick learner
Coco a Corpsman? I get those vibes. Nobody F….s with Doc. Semper Fi! Enjoyed the video. Keep’em coming.
He sure was, we got our FMF pins together while with 3/5
Awesome! I was wondering when we’d see the Taco again!!!
I didn't know they had Holcomb trail that wasn't full on rock crawling. Good to know. big bear 🐻 is amazing
There's Holcomb Valley and then there's Holcomb Creek which is very difficult, the Tacoma wouldn't make it lol
@jordankowitz5599 I gotta take my jeep to one and 4runner to the other haha! You guys seem level headed and respectful. Would be great to wheel and camp with you guys sometime! Thanks for clarification
Great video keep going ! Great to have friends tag along on journeys !
Awesome. Well done. Thanks for sharing the experience with us. And dang you stepped up your cooking game big time, (I'm jealous, lol ).
Thanks for sharing your adventures. I know it’s a challenge to film and keep track of your dog and cook and enjoy your self and a friend all at once. Well done.
Y’all stationed in Pendleton? Ever thought about a doc or active duty meet up? Big Bear trip? I’m down 🤷🏾♂️
Never thought about it but a cool idea! Unfortunately my last day in the Navy is tomorrow
@@jordankowitz Lucky 😂
Cool Video enjoyed the pace and good cuts, nice job. My son has a Tacoma and I have a Jeep. We also compare their ability and comfort and have fun with a bit of gamesmanship on obstacles.
The rivalry is always fun! It's cool to compare the two, but nice knowing at the end of the day they'll still take you on great adventures
I’ve been off-roading since 2013, mostly alone. My bf just bought is first 4wd and last weekend we went. It was easily one of the best day of off-road I had. He really got into it!
Awesome video man! Def need more Toyota content. 👌👌
Great video, I really enjoy this type of content. Great seeing a 4Runner make the channel. I have a 4R like that, and definitely fold the seats down to sleep. I'm 5'9 and with the seats down I can stretch out and sleep like a baby. Also, I have window screens that go over the rear doors, so I can crack the windows for ventilation without worrying about bugs.
Can I ask you where you got your window screens, I also have the 4runner.
@@jeffspangler3422 Amazon, they were around $20 if I remember correctly.
Just like pops. Great job.
You don’t have to be an “expert” to help someone get out.
Camp Pendleton? Thanks for your service. I’m a disabled Army veteran.
We were Navy Corpsman attached with the Marines on Pendleton. Thank you for your service
Off roading is fun
Great video TRJR Trail Recon Jr :) Looking forward to seeing more
Thank you!
Мужики да вы крутые ребята. Новосибирск смотрит. К вам хотим
Love the area, had a small ranch at the base of 3N14, first ran the trails close to forty years ago. Fun area for sure.
I love my Apex swaybar disconnects, one of the easiest and the best upgrades I’ve ever done
Nice and early for this one! Just what i need!
Be aware ounce you install those gold wing doors it’s very difficult to go back to the original quarter glasses because it requires drilling a dozen or more holes through the pinch weld where the urethane needs to be applied.
cool seeing the young buck get his moment to take over
Excellent!
I enjoyed that video a lot.
Thank you!
Cute and fun. Nice!
Kawaī puppy!! ☺
Nice!
Olive is adorable, congrats!
Thank you!
Wow great off-road adventure video🚗👍😊😍
Definitely need to hit this trail in my xj
Great job Jordan. Excellent video and narration.
Love the video. Two Toyotas! If you want to do something different to your Taco, you can add Portal Axles from 74Weld. Keep the good content coming.
That's expensive though. Not many people have the cash for that. I get the feeling that he's just trying to make a basic overlander that can handle rough roads and light rocks.
Portal axles would be super cool! But I agree with the above comment. I just want something simple that can handle the occasional rough trail taking me to campsites
This video was awesome.
Thanks for sharing 👌 👍
Appreciate it!
HI JORDAN & COCO & OF COARSE OLIVE 🐶

Check out a BDS 3-inch coil over lift.
Coco should have gotten that Land Cruiser. It doesn't need to be a Challenger or Mustang to qualify for that special military financing 😂
They'll give you 18% APR on just about anything LOL
Puppy!!!!
Nice to see the Tacoma back in action, what kind of camping chiars are those?
Really like this video with two fairly stock Toyotas. Nice work. What size BFG’s are on your Taco?
how hot was it and how do you like the 4W camper?
It was in the upper 70°s. The four wheel camper it great, super comfortable and the fan inside helps cool it down quite a bit while staying quiet
Awesome video
Great episode! The mini Blackstone is definitely the way to go. I picked up a $20 amazon hose for mine so I can use an 8lb or 20lb propane tank: total game changer! 18:58
Trailrecon: toyota adventure
It's for you and your adventure and build of your Toyota Tacoma, but tied into the trailrecon family, since your family started the channel.
If you want to start a once a once a year summer trip, I would love to join and that would be great.. Thanks for sharing this video!
You are either really tall or your friend is rather short. I can't tell.
A little bit of both😂
I enjoyed your version of anoff road jaunt up to Bear. I am glad for you to get out of the shadow of the other guy on this channel.
hey let us know next time you head out, we as rookies overlander 4x4 campers would like to join you and Friend and get some experience,..plus need to get some dirt time on my 2021 Tacoma TRD 4x4 Sport,..
Noti gang on deck
I lived in Cali and did not know Bi Bear area had these kind of trails.
...the John Bull trail is in the Big Bear area as well. It's probably one of the most famous ohv trails in California 👍
Are those saw darker or raptor wheels? I am guessing you don't have a lift, how did you fit those aggressive offset- does it rub?
What valley trail? I couldn’t hear the first name of it
Holcomb Valley trail
Without being too specific on this platform, do you guys carry "blasters" while out and about on the trails. Thanks for the vid!
MORE COCO!!!!!!! 🗿
What trim 4Runner is that?
I believe it was an SR5
I miss family mart pizza buns
good times...if you put the cheese between 2 patties, then grill it, you get a delicious cheese stuffed burger..thank me later 😎👍
Might have to try that next time!
A cute German Shepherd puppy. The tan arcs on the face = Rottweiler. They have breed DNA tests now.
That's what we were thinking she was mixed with. Would love to do a DNA test one day
What wheels are those ? 😮
SSW DAKAR ! 🙏🏽
What was that hanging down from the driver side rear bumper of the 4Runner?
So, will the girlfriend's dog be back and not the girlfriend? Good video!
LOL I think they'll both be sticking around. Thank you!
Leave the girl bring Coco. Bros before ….
Is Olive house broken???
She is, just the occasional accident when she gets too excited meeting new people, which we were told she'll grow out of
What kind of dog is that?
What’s the name of that trail? Right mine?
We took White mountain road to Wright mine road when we came across the off camber obstacles
Nice to see a little more of these video being out and about. Not a bun fan of the sponsor videos and all the jeep dealer videos
Could you please post the trail number and some details how to reach it, thanks
Gotta hand it to everyone who ventures off into the unknown in a Jeep ☠️
