  • In this video, we look at how Startups get off the ground. Get the first 100 Customers, users or buyers. To get a good picture of the best way to grow right now I’ve asked startups that recently grew from nothing to real growth how they did it.
    Over 100 Startups came back and told me what strategies worked to get their startup off the ground and a special thank you to all the startups that contributed by letting us know how they got their first growth!
    We go through 12 different strategies that startups use to get their startup off the ground in 2022. We look at what strategies actually work right now. Strategies such as Direct Outreach (E-mails, DMs, calls), Strategic Partnerships, Paid Advertising (Paid advertising on networks, Facebook, Instagram or others), Organic Social Media (Posts on social media), PR (Press), Content (Blogs, LinkedIn, CZcams, etc.),
    SEO (Non-paid Search Engine Optimization). SEM (Paid Search Engine Marketing) and others.
    Finally, we get an overview of the best strategies, then we split up the list and look at B2C and B2B separately as the strategies are different.

    I grew my media biz by focusing heavily on content. Surprise. Especially increasing the amount of frequencies and formats as well as using news trendy stories grew our user base significantly.

    Amazing! This guy is real!.
    Thanks for your support! You got a new subscriber!
    I like how you have practical and real info... because as you said the general influencer marketing and so on do not fit for a first 100 clients thing...
    I was thinking of personal network for 1st place, but what if the startup field is unrelated to your daily interests and circles? We've been sending tons of cold emails but we arent even sure on where to network or to find the contacts for our industry...
    And linked in is only useful if you already have some "circle", content or have some trust.

    • @RawStartup
      @RawStartup  Před rokem

      Thanks yes it is more tricky if outside your normal network. Most founders build inside the network and that is why it ranks this high.

    Good video! I would like to add 2 more strategies to this list: 1. Topic specific forums (for example Reddit) and 2. Staged scandals (which could fall under PR, but I would separate it, with well planned scripts it works positively).

    Stoked to see Email/direct being rated as the second most popular. While SEO and social will always be my go-to creatively, few things beat a direct approach. And as mentioned in the video, it's an insane amount of work behind all of these and Direct especially. But unlike Paid, Social, Affiliates etc. I feel that there's a certain level of success you can guarantee when using Direct. And guarantees aren't too common in the start-up scene 🙂

    • @RawStartup
      @RawStartup  Před 2 lety

    Paid advertising is way too expensive these day and the acquisition cost too is crazy high thanks to Facebook and Instagram. I'd rather go for PR, using the social media spending budget. My personal view.

      Every single one of them got past 1M subscribers in a couple of years.

    I'm starting a pick up and delivery laundry service, what do you think would be the most effective way to get my first 10 customers? Craigslist? Facebook groups? Ideally I'd want them to be bunched together to not drive to all 4 surrounding cities which really makes it difficult. Thank you if you can find the time to ponder your thoughts.

    @9:28 Direct Outreach: Sending Marketing Emails to others may result with the sent email ending in the "Spam" folder and thus may hinder the business and reputation. Also, I was told that sending emails to businesses without first knowing them is inappropriate. How would you overcome this glitch is Direct Marketing?
