    Congrats on reaching the 138k Subscriber plateau, that is a lot of people that are interested in what's happening at their Asquith Saskatchewan area Dairy. Great start on the merch lineup. Very nice video editing and drone shots, and at times they include some of the other hard working family/helpers including the cows/calves for some variety. Would be appreciated to see the mule deer herd hanging around their windbreak and feed piles again to see how much they fattened up since their last screening. Please be safe out there; And keep up the great work and your very informative explanations. Hands down better than any other farming related that I have seen or recommended videos on CZcams, and always look forward to the next video. Many Thx!

    Jan - so glad to see you have merchandize now. I can't find the comment now, but somewhere back in October or November, I suggested you create a shirt. . .even gave a logo suggestion. This new design is similar to what I think I suggested. Just can't find the comment without hours of searching. Being from the states, I wouldn't have thought of the maple leaf. That's a cool idea! My shirt is ordered and, I hope, on its way soon!!

    I knew this to be true before, but it's apparent from your videos that farming is literally 50% farming and 50% fixing stuff! Lol, pays to be handy (or rather, it saves to be handy!) You have a lot of valuable knowledge that some people spend years of adulthood and loads of money learning, you seem to know how to fix everything!!

    • @DanishButterCookie
      @DanishButterCookie Před 2 lety

      On a farm, there will always be something that needs fixing. I can come up with lots of things we need done at our place lol.
      After a while, you learn how to fix stuff yourself instead of waiting and having work slow down.

    Love your channel sub’d quite awhile ago. Beautiful farm your family operates and I know you appreciate how fortunate you are by your work ethic and they way you take care of the money that has been spent. From an outsiders(not informed) peospective could you do a video on the economics/pros and cons of robot milking. It seems it is incredibly labor intense and would pay for itself rather quickly. Again, I know nothing please educate me. Wish you the best.

    Amazing video as usual. But I just wanted to say if it's possible for you to put a warning when you go in the bucket? This could be potentially dangerous, even for someone with experience. We lost a big family in Québec last year because they were in the tractor's bucket and the hydraulics just broke and lots of adults and kids died. It might be good for you to do it, it protects you too.

    • @edk1609
      @edk1609 Před 3 lety +1

      Yes; That was a VERY sad day insomuch that almost every farm worker can relate too, and Jan could emphasize these dangers and probably do a video on farm family safety to help satisfy even myself in the near future. So many hazards on a farm, such as starting a truck while not seated in the cab - it would just takes one bad incident to end Jan's lifestyle and farming career.

      Block and tackle system using a cable-rope/horse-manpower for pulling the attached bucket or grapple to the top with the product to the top of the barn/silo. The same method was used in large clipper/sailing ships over the centuries and still in use today in many applications such as the crane and building constuction trades throughout the world and on drilling/service rigs for pulling drill or well service pipe out of the wellbore.
