  • 5 , 6 & 8 Blade Props For Cinewhoops? This is the test and my honest thoughts
    So for the last few years I have tested 5 blade props, I have tested 6 blade props and recently the 8 blade props. I have spent a lot of money and burned motors during these test and this is my honest thoughts about these types of props! I personally was very exited about the 8 blade props , but was I exited for the results?
    I fly cinewhoops pretty much every day, and having good props is very important! Especially if you want to have more silent props and less of a noisy drone. Cinewhoops are very loud and can be disturbing to other people, so I wanna get the best out of my cinewhoops!

    My testing came up with the same results the eight blade props look really cool but that’s about it. Might be good for inside stability carrying a full go pro but looking forward to your indoor test😎

      Cool to hear! 😎 Yeah the 8 blades look sick, but that's not enough 😅

      They have a nicer sound though. Great for around people. From bzzzzz to woosh

      I was using a slammed squirt so the props are a perfect fit to the ducts

    operators need to match the motor to the props
    a wide stator motor with short shaft (2xxx size) is intended to swing a high thrust prop at a lower rpms (~1500-2000kv @ 6S) such as 6 or 8 blades
    a skinny stator motor with a tall shaft (15xx size) is designed to operate at higher rpms (~2800-3000kv @ 6S) using 3 or 5 blades

      So the protek should be better with the 6 or 8

    When I want get speedy thing I get stock props from protek 35 but when I want do cinematic thing fly slower I would prefer 8 blades from hq prop,thanks great video👍👍

    Great review, and I respect your opinion! My own testing was 100% the opposite, however. For me, the 8 bladed had the lowest sound at 10 meters, flew the smoothest, and had the most punch. The 5 bladed were second, though not much better than a 4 bladed or a high pitch 3 blades. The 6 bladed HQ props got thrown away as they sucked the joy out of flying. They sounded like forks scratching on a plate to me, and handled the poorest of anything I've ever flown, including my experiences limping a quad home with broken props.

      thank you, will give them a try.
      my protek35 started shaking on straight lines with 3blade after upgrading to 4.3 betaflight, weird

    I thought general wisdom is less blades is more efficient so longer flight time, but the 8 blade flies longer?

    have you ever tried two double blades, one on top of the other so the offset blades cut less through the others wash? perhaps offsetting at different degrees to each other can affect noise levels as well. just a thought!

  • @dragonwingfpvbyespenlossiu3808

    You should have had the gemfan 5 blade as well. They are the best IMO, asnd there are alot of people who feel the same. Hq is too low pitch, too narrow blades.

      This was the D-76-5, still wasn´t too impressed.. :D But they are better on a 3 inch for sure!

    3 minutes without a gopro? why do these cinewhoops have such low flight times? My nazgul gets 9 minutes on a 1100 mah with a gopro 9 full weight.
    what's the normal flight time on the protek with full size gopro and the normal props?

    • @playstationuploads3622
      @playstationuploads3622 Před 2 lety

      I have 6minutes on 1350 with gopro and pretty punchy on throttle. Could get more if flying smooth and slow-steady indoor.

      @janbahar5322 Před rokem

      On my 1300 4s i get only 3.5 minutes without gopro. Do you fly 6s

    • @definingslawek4731
      @definingslawek4731 Před rokem

      @@janbahar5322 It's very possible you fly faster and more acrobatically than I do on an average flight. You are right, all my FPV quads are 6s. If I really push the 5 inch I will get less than 9 minutes but even when freestyling I tend to do really low throttle cruising and then poppy punches.
      I fly mostly 1100 mah and a few 1300 mah 6s batteries.

  • @nonameest

    You just confirmed that you dont know anything about props. You cant just swap them randomly. They have to match with motor power curve, rpms, magnet count etc. If done correctly less blades are always more effective but more noise. Its physics!

    Your test is no good, of course you're going to get negative results if you don't put the right motor with the correct prop, higher blade counts require different KV and torque
