  • THE PHILIPPINES -THE EXPAT CHECKLIST FOR MOVING TO THE PHILIPPINES
    Welcome to Travel Discovery! In this video, we'll share a checklist for preparing to move to the Philippines (but this list can be applied in principle for moving to any country). We will use moving from the USA to the Philippines in the examples but please adjust for your country of origin. This is not an all inclusive list but it will get you off to a great start. This video is based on the one done by the The Philippine Info Channel. Thanks to Steve and Justin! Come along for the ride!

      Research and planning is the key. If you can adjust the Philippines is a great place to retire. Just buy what you need to be comfortable.

    Hey, Can you please cover on the VISA which is needed for being a digital Nomad - if you are working remotely for a firm based outside of the PH? Is the TV going to suffice? Thanks!

    • @DigitalNomadsExplore
      @DigitalNomadsExplore  Před rokem +2

      Yes a tourist is enough. Many expats work for US companies remotely while on a tourist visa. You can stay up to three years while renewing it every 2 or 6 months depending on the visa office you go to. I'll make a video on it.

    Using google flights for the throwaway ticket i found some ticket brokers that offered an upgrade ($10) to a refundable ticket that offered a refund of 80% of the ticket cost upon cancelation...I stand to loose only about $25 doing that way.

    OK now where would I live after arriving at the airport and do I need a visa from the US and for how long?

    • @DigitalNomadsExplore
      @DigitalNomadsExplore  Před 3 měsíci

      No, you get a visa on arrival. Just bring your US passport. You get initially for 1 month and then you can extend.

    I ask something why do u prepare living here in the Philippines instead to your country from craig Anderson

    • @DigitalNomadsExplore
      @DigitalNomadsExplore  Před 13 dny

      The biggest reason for most is a lower cost of living. Fir example, it's cheaper to live outside the United States. But there are many other reasons people may have.

    So how do I get a pH phone number before arriving in the pH?

    • @DigitalNomadsExplore
      @DigitalNomadsExplore  Před rokem

      You need to buy a SIM card for the Philippines on Ebay. And your cellphone needs to be able to support (dual SIM card slot) switching your old SIM for the new. Once you have inserted the new one you have a Philippines phone number (shown on SIM card package as well in your phone info screen). Then load minutes. Buy a load card on eBay too or just load at the airport. You need to register your SIM card too eventually by April 2023 if coming before that current deadline. You can register and load minutes once in the Philippines.

      If you mean just to enter the Philippines for the first time you get a tourist visa on arrival and you need a valid passport. If you mean starting the SRRV retirement visa before you leave the US then you can contact: Contact Mary Rosa PRA agent and she will give you the list of documents (serious applicants only)👇
