you should just take it slow n do one small part at a time when you feel interested. Everything is divided into subquest and sub objective for a reason

2. x introduces y
3. y talks meaningless bloated backstory for 10 mins
4. paimon repeats their story for 5 mins
5. finally do quest
EXACTLY. I Was gonna go in on it myself, but this exemplifies it perfectly.
Paimon is so annoying because she repeats things like she's trying to explain things for dummies and offers nothing to the story because her annoying voice removes any humor she could provide.
Cept when everyone else is making fun of her.
They promoted this game as great combat, multiplayer fun, and exploration.
Not, great -> stale dialogue that sounds like a tutorial half the time and the opening cutscene to a game that everyone skips.

Destroying more camps and more enemies spawn. etc.
Even similar daily quests don't even spawn new enemies in when you meet certain criterias.
Only the story driven ones have alternate routes. Annoying.

It's more about gameplay than dialogue. The story is fine, but the gameplay experience overall is lacking. It feels hollow in a way other good action/adventure RPG'S don't.
I don’t like the story at all, but I really like the battle system. Plus, the time needed to do a quest is too long compared to the rewards. Sure, I wouldn’t do that in a « normal rpg » since it doesn’t have any *limited* rewards/characters. However, genshin is a gacha and if want more gameplay diversity, I have to pull for the characters I like.

Imagine choosing a story quest for that favorite character, but 80% of the time its about that faceless npc story. (note: there are some well written world quest, not many)
Pretty much Nilou story quest. I'm not saying it's bad, it just spends more time focusing on family issues between an NPC and her father.

My only gripe is that there are some really hard to find quests. I've 100%'d most of Inazuma and the reputation board still says there are some world quests somewhere.

aah yes the quest which kidnaps you in the name of 40 primos for a week its very interesting and fun
you actually get almost 1k primos from it because of how many sub quests it has + the unlocked exploration.

I stopped reading the dialogue in world quests because of the amount of unnecessary blabber, what I do is to open youtube after doing it and watch its summary for lore reasons... But I really enjoyed doing the Ruu's and Jeht's world quest though reading all that...
I know right. There are like tens of world quests but the enjoyable ones are only 1 or 2 in each region. And they released so many playable characters that were not even shown in those world quests.
Ironically those two were some of my least favorite. In particular, the Jeht quest in King Deshret's pyramid sucked ass, because my favorite part about Genshin is exploring and I just wanted to run around and loot everything but every 5 steps I got thrown into another cutscene with forced drama between the NPCs. -_-

If the answer to either of those questions is no (and I expect them to be), I think you can see how they aren't going to fulfill all of the things I play Genshin for.
I think it's worth pointing out that most of the time I DO enjoy exploration in Genshin, because most of the time it ISN'T locked behind world quests that stop you every five minutes. Fontaine handled this much better than Sumeru did.

A lot of it are boring though tbh, or at least dragging with a lot of meaningless dialogue that doesnt help with the plot. I find interacting with objects more meaningful as bits of text has more lore than sitting for hours listening to paimon whining. I find it super ironic how Honkai Impact 3rd has a dialogue skip button yet i never skip the dialogues because of how well it works for the story (except for early chapters which are dragging as hell)
I feel like Genshin Impact’s story is being written by three people, and none of them are communicating.

Try complains about Genshin being boring because of the quests. Imagine wanting to explore a nice new area but half the things are locked behind wallsoftext. This lantern right was genuinely painful to get through for me. I want to play the game not listen to infinite yapping.

The Aranara quests and Sumeru in general were definitely when I stopped caring about anything that wasn't voiced. Genshin writing is so goddamn wordy. They use 40 words to say something that can be said in 10 and most of the time it's nothing interesting at all. Like I just did the Fujin quest and that shit could have been like 20 minutes long if you trimmed the dialogue and cut out all the boring shit about tea
My stopping point was with the Melusines, despite them being cute as heck, then I stopped doing voiced quest with 4.2 story, and my last event was the film festival, after that I quit.
After that aranara quest i decided to stop doing the quest cause its way too damn long

i started aranara quest ever since i was ar 45, i finished the entire quiest line at ar 50 and now, at ar 56 i found all 76 aranara for that room full of 15 chests i can say it was worth it for the primos..

the problem is that 90% of genshin characters are so bland in their personality that they could literally just be npcs with fancy models. Main story quests are always good but the rest is just pointless filler that don't build on any character or achieve any world building. Its just paimon spouting useless stuff and fetch quests with npcs that mean nothing to the story.
Genshin would be better if each region made you have a buddy alongside paimon that you can bounce off of, barbara in mont, xiangling in liyue, yoimiya in inazuma, collei in sumeru, lynette in fontaine
Being a JRPG head paimon is that character that talks too much and needs another to bounce off of her, hence why parties are 3-4 people. why cant playable characters happen to join you outside of character and archon quests, they are so absent it makes the world feel stagnant/peaceful, yet we get these rando npcs... Perish

...And then there's the mess that is the desert portion of the Sumeru Archon quest. Where a defenseless child is inexplicably allowed to join you on a highly dangerous quest filled with sensitive political negotiations

Some quests have a really good story, but 90% of the time, if i could execute both orders 37 on Paimon, 65 on Archons and 66 on visions users at the same time, i would.
Most quests except a few ones are pretty trash. 1 hour of unnecessary dialogue just to get 5 minutes of juicy lore, they definitely can cut them a lot. Not to mention Paimon...

I play MMO's wow and XIV, and let me say this, even in those, the dialogue isn't nearly as repetitive as Genshins. Even Star Rail is not as repetitive as Genshin.
Whoever is in charge of writing dialogue in Genshin needs to be fired because characters in this game speak like they are reading a Wikipedia where the article writter was a little to friendly with the Ctrl+C. Because most of the dialogue feels very copy and past.
NPC: Hello Traveller can you deliver this letter for me? Its addressed to my friend in the city , i'd do it myself but i have a bad knee, and eyes don't see as well as they used too.
Paimon: You have a bad knee fellow human?
NPC: I do have a bad knee, it makes walking very hard, my bad knee, it doesn't help that i trip alot due to my bad eyes.
Paimon: Your eyesights bad fellow human? Traveller did you hear that?
Player gets given 3 choices that all pointless and the same thing and lead to the same dialogue.
Paimon: Exactly traveller, we should deliver this letter for this person, who has a bad knee and bad eyes.
NPC: Thats right i have a bad knee and bad eyes. My bad eyes caused me to trip one day, and thats why my knee is bad. It makes it hard for me to walk.
PAimon: You tripped random person we just met?
NPC: I did i tripped trying to deliver this letter. Will you deliver it?
Player is given option to say yes or no.
At the end of the quest your given 20 primos and a fear of backstories, both in game and real life.
Yeah. I'm guilty of putting Genshin on minimized while doing something else when doing a quest.

Thqt is because Genshin Quests are boring. Not everyone wants to read a block of text, that is repeated by Paimon 5 minutes later, so that we know the reason why character X shit itself.
