  • So, the plan was to go shoot some long-exposure cloud trail photos. But the weather had other plans. Instead, I walked around a parking garage and took a few mediocre photos, then reviewed what I was going for and breaking down the scenes.
These were all shot with my Fuji XT3 and Voigtlander 35 1.2 with a Superia simulation.
Even though the photos I came away with weren't bangers, I thought it might be helpful to talk about what I saw in each photo. Just trying something different. Real life isn't about great photos every time.
I hope everybody is awesome and is having a great day. 🙂

Hi there. I'm Chris. Film is more fun is a place where I share about whatever busted up old camera I'm currently shooting and tinkering with, or my meanderings in film photography. It would be pretty rad if you said what's up. I'm 99% friendly. Definitely do that. Disclaimer: If you want technical proficiency this might not be the best place. These videos are more like an elderly person navigating a tv remote control. Pretty random and confused.

So, photography isn't always a highlight reel, and mediocre photos are a part of the process. I wanted to try something different and talk a little about what I was thinking while shooting these few photos. I still wanna get out and shoot some long exposures CLOUDSSSS soon lol.

This was great! Helps to think about self critique, and looking through old photos. Thanks!

love the chattier style of video. i think you're definitely being too hard on yourself, which i also get that way when a shoot doesn't go the way I expected, but the way you captured light in all of these photos is really gorgeous! That tire shot at 3:30 is super cool!

Love that scary movie meme lol. The opening song in this vid made me think of Wii Sports hahah. I think overall, these moody, contrasty shots are rad. I really enjoyed them. I low key wish you would have used Cinestill or Reflx to get those juicy halations. Especially on that first geometry shots. But this vid is inspiring and energizing for me, because you are exactly right about practice and developing the craft is not always pretty.

Thanks dude. Yeah, Scary movie is the best. I bet you're right, Cinestill would have really made some of the glows pop!

I hardly ever shoot portrait orientation, but I do prefer the portrait shot of that first scene - definitely not a garbage shot.

Thanks Dave. Imo they're all kinda meh, but the hunt during random meanderings is the majority of the fun!
