- www.vladtv.com/ - The famed Minneapolis rapper got real about a number of topics including the upcoming presidential election, which he believes is more symbolic than anything else, but encourages voters to get educated about each candidate. Ali also speaks on being a white albino rapper, and believes that everything is easier as a white person, but he also recognizes that everyone has their own situation.

This guy has been the same guy I know in high school. Smart as hell very educated on all levels. One of Minnesota best artist. And props on speaking his mind.
Yeah I remember seeing him grinding outside of other artists shows and was just a real humble and good dude when he was still working on his 2nd LP. He's that same dude today and I respect him for that.
"Not a day goes by" by Brother Ali is one of the most underrated rap of our times.. Respects from India!!
Brother ali has the both sides of the story and he is not afraid to tell it like it is. He is the truth.
"Voting does nothing but go vote anyway" SMH
It shocks me that Vlad even put something so educational and humble. Peace to Brother Ali. One of the most underrated artists in hip hop.
It’s no surprise that he’s never had him back on
@@selfishstockton6123 Either that or Brother Ali declined to have an interview given the direction VladTV has gone in
😂 and what direction has Brother Ali gone in? Of course VladTV went in the direction of interviewing relevant artists & focusing on captivating subjects who’s non-music industry folks - it’s a business & money counts, right?
It isn’t any real views coming from shit like this, man had this interview up damn near a decade & this hasn’t broken 50k. If people actually wanted to hear an albino man wax philosophical about “whiteness” that wouldn’t be the case. The audience want controversy, and the audience want to watch guests they actually want to hear speak. 🤷🏽♂️ This man is none of that - you can admit that, right?
@@kevindube7096 Facts. People are spoon fed bullshit day in and day out and can’t appreciate wisdom like what artists such as Brother Ali can provide.

voting for Obama thinking because he is black and his message was hope he is going to change our lives as poor people is the same thing as saying he couldn't do the job because he's black. assumption that skin color will determine what somebody will do for you
The alternatives were worse dude. Obama was trash, a neo liberal bullshitter, but better than mitt Romney or John McCain that’s for damn sure.
His album is the first album I have PURCHASED in the last ten years. Its as pure as hip hop can get. He is a true MC. "Ali this what you were suppose to do but not me" -Stop The Press.
Every city has an urban community because the word 'urban' relates to city. Urban refers to any particular area with a high population density. Urban culture is also synonymous with African-American culture.
Brother Ali is a great human being.
With regard to white people enjoying seeing another white person succeed, I think that's true of every group, nationality, home state, even local area. Everybody likes to see one of their own succeed even when race isn't a factor. I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing to feel good about one of your "own," whatever that may mean, succeeding, as long as it's not coupled with hate or disdain, or an enjoyment or desire of seeing someone else fail.
Late response , nope amongst marginalized people there is a thing called internalized racism aka self hate or crab mentality. Basically people who despise their own and even worship white people.
Deep interpretation of common people vs the elite!
Honesty is refreshing.
This is the realest interview there has ever been towards an artist.
good interview
i f**k with this dude now!! i'm going to buy that album... respect his views so much
great upload vlad.. keep it up.
wow one of the most honest disscusions on race that i've heard in a long time.....smart....soft spoken...relatable....and non judgemental
Non judgmental? The title of the video is "everything's easier as a white person" which is a judgement about an entire group of people based off nothing more than their skin color.
The truth......and I comend him for having the balls to say it....
some of the comments on here are really fucked up.
yall dont get it.
A TON of guilty feeling people commenting!!! Lol.
Very good..
word Brother Ali
wow a video longer then 3 mins and not lil B , Vlad thank you
A stress free life? Damn, I must've missed that memo. Where can I go to get some of that stress free life?
As a white guy its not stress free
Brotha Ali seems to be all twisted up here. It's wrong he says to over simplify his new album by calling it political. He has no qualms about using gross generalizations towards a whole group of people saying everything is easier for them. As an individual devoid of color myself, I feel completely comfortable not making generalizations but looking at things on a person to person & situation to situation basis. I don't see how telling white people they got it easier or better is going to help
Brnx:
Did you not even listen to say that he was generalizing? He acknowledged that---what the hell more do you want? And let's be for real here----white people have always had privilege in this country, mainly because they're the majority--that's a damn fact and you know it. White people get passes to do things that no way in hell would a black people be allowed to get away with. Even white people have admitted this for decades. I think a lot of white folks are just mad as hell that another white person is saying that it does.
OHHHHHHH!!!!!!! I looked it up myself and realized that he is white and albino...I have never seen a white Muslim so I assumed he was a black albino person...
Rasheen Maynor Lol have you never seen a white muslim? Do you live under a rock mate?
Read the Koran
He’s white, albino and converted to islam.
That forest whitaker track is dirty. Dude drops that dope shit. Check out the ali, tokie and evidence cypher i forget the name but you can find it in youtube
I come from some dark, backwards nastiness and I have been some dark, backwards nastiness in my time here in this world. It's been a long road to get to where I am today. When I first heard the term white privilege I was very put off. I'm not defending my position, but at the time, I was more stunned than anything. I mean, here's me, dirt poor, disabled, I have a 5th grade education, feeding my kids out of the food pantry, one foot on a banana peel the other on the precipice of homelessness at all times, etc.. and blah blah blah ... the idea that I am privileged was absurd to me but I could feel this background note in my resistance to it that I knew wasn't coming from the right place inside me, so I continued to challenge myself and my reaction. I still am.
I think there's one thing that can be said for the term "white privilege" ... it's a proving ground. You're not going to be willing to recognize privilege unless your heart is in the right place. When I heard it I felt like it was a judgment against me for something I feel powerless over myself and do not want in this world. I don't want a fellow mother screaming for her son, never to see him again and no justice. I don't want teachers who are biased and see a precious child as less innocent because of his skin color. I don't want a world where people profit on the incarceration of human beings. It turns my stomach. I thought it was enough to not want all this pain and suffering in this world and honestly? My resistance was in a way an effort to distance myself.
My turning point was the police shootings of unarmed black men, particularly Philandro Castile. I couldn't ignore the fact that I don't live with the everyday fear that my children, helpless to defend themselves, will be under attack by officers who are licensed to kill them with impunity, simply for being white.
My understanding continues to grow because the love in my heart continues to grow. I don't know how many more biases I have that I am still blind to, or what yet I will have to overcome, but it's my job to do so, not only for others, but also, for myself. I see a lot of people put off by this term, and I know from experience that you have to come to it in a real way, within your own heart. I'm writing this because I feel it's important to stress that if you feel like acknowledging privilege means living in shame of who you are, that's not what it's about. It's about love. Seeing this disparity hasn't caused me to live in shame of who I am, it's blessed me with a greater capacity to care and open my eyes to my fellow human beings. That comes with an increased level of pain, but pain can be borne, damage comes when we harden our hearts to avoid it.
@dearydarling this is one of the most beautiful and profound expressions that I have ever read. I hope that many more people will have a chance to read or hear your message. Peace.
We need more intelligent hip hop artists like Brother Ali 4 sure
speak my brotha!!!
Videos like this need more views. Mankind at this moment will never prosper or advance if we dwell on our differences. Shit is real as fuck.
this is the most concise political statement i have heard in a long time
Yes I feel like you can not get away with horrible things forever. They will have to pay when they die too by feeling the pain they put people through, walking in their shoes.
he did say that he was generalizing. I don't like to hear him speak like this either but he did say she is not speaking on an individual basis. Your right, though, it doesn't help
Every large city has an "urban community." You just don't notice it because you probably live on the other side of town. Out of sight out of mind.
Damn hes honest.
So, you're saying that Portland is a homogeneous (culturally) place? Or is it because you haven't really ventured outside of your comfortable enclave to explore other parts of Portland.
Vlad where is the rest of my boys interview
Real Talk.
I'm glad he understands
People still believe the president has any say in anything??
psynic. Nope but trump will drain the swanp said stupid people
isemajic97 hows the economy looking buddy? Lmao
Donald Foreman real shitty. The ritch got there tax cuts while the poor suffer
Bull shit, economy is booming. Gdp is up. Unemployment numbers are down.in fact lowest black unemployment rate in history. And everyone is saving "their" own money from less taxes.
Time to leave the Democratic-plantation.
One hell of a role model.
I love you with my whole heart brother ali
Getting angry at someone just thinking for a second about something bigger than himself. You sir, can't be anything other than a victim of abuse. I feel sorry for you.
You've just proved my point. I said "It shouldn't be that hard for mainstream rappers (like the ones you've just mentioned) to be platinum selling artist. Eminem, Jay-Z, and Lil Wayne are mainstream artist. I'm agreeing with your statement that 'every year its the same people going platinum.' Rick Ross is known primarily in the urban community but I wouldn't label him mainstream yet. You have to be likable to white people before you become mainstream. It's the truth.
Peep the light reflect 7 on em!!!
My brother is also albino.
Canvassed for Obama XD bet he regrets that!
It only takes about 500,000 for an album to go gold and a million for it to become platinum. I'm not saying that that's not a lot but once you consider worldwide sales plus a domestic consumer base of around 350 million people, it shouldn't be that hard for mainstream rappers (like the ones you've just mentioned) to be platinum selling artist.
Its time for people to stop all this fighting over crumbs and come together, take it all back.
but on a serious note. he speaks alot of truth, he's very aware and intelligent. I like this guy and how he thinks.
Preach Brother
You know when you draw a little face and beard on an egg?
he chose righteousness. APIDTA!
I like this dude...he's honest!!!
Society is either going to get right or fail
Brother Ali
isnt this the albino actor from that movie?
Your so smart Brother Ali it’s so complicated and you have tapped into a higher level. You are a older soul brother Ali. America is full of baby souls and infant souls. But that will change. And here and there will be a old soul and eventually there’s going to be enough to make bigger change.
I like this dude. He's real.
Not really
@@Tasikime 😂 he said “all the right things” like a try-hard so-called ally
I said that "urban culture' is ALSO synonymous with African-American culture. However, urban culture is city culture because urban correlates to city life (regardless of race/ethnicity). The only reason that I said urban culture is synonymous with AA culture is simply because most AA outside of the geographic south reside in urban settings. Therefore, many people associate the term "urban" or 'urban culture' with African-Americans.
Dark Secret:
Many black people (like myself) also grew up in the suburbs outside of the city---not all black people grow up only in urban areas. Do the research, please.
this guy is the true. vlad please keep up the good work.
i respect his mind
He's very fucking perceptive. Love this guy.
All real shit . My nigga
Dude is deep.
I came up with an idea in my head that the president is put there just to look good for the US when we have a good president or his ideas or morals/relevant then the US looks good so no will pay attention to the men who have been in the office for years are doing all the dirty work and we don’t pay attention to that and now that we got trump the US had this bad rep not saying we always had a good one but it’s gotten worse
Intelligent man...
Firstly, just because something is on the Internet that doesn't mean it's true. There's a plethora of bogus web sites that I can go to and find erroneous information. Besides, who really buy albums nowadays when you can download music.
this guy looks like Santa... grow a full beard bro and get a red suit.. brother Santa Ali
While I can see your point I don't support being victimized. I personally perform and do what i can do to the best that I do regardless of my audience. I don't care about the praise or insults. I grew up as a minority geographically and I am white.
That's because he's not black, he's white. He's white and albino.
lol
don't really sure if you can alter peoples minds over CZcams...
that was arrogant as hell
Ali really thinks Obama was a better candidate than McKinney
Mitt is not going to do shit for your either! Real talk
Love Ali
how can he be racist if he is white and the term "racist" is using degortarty words to describe a ethnic group
I don't think he has white guilt or is trying to sell albums to black people, plus guilt is usually a sign that something is wrong inside of you so it's not bad at all, it's bad to be stuck there, when your sick your body coughs when your soul in is crisis you feel guilt, the point is to heal and do something about it. Peace
@catta, his comments are not racist, it is the natural bone truth. I guess the truth hurts, but the truth will set you free.......
real ass shit
He's White albino, do you even listen to his music? he talks about it...
We're is this white privilege at? And how do I cash in on it
When the police pull you over, you dont have to be scared that they're going to shoot you for some bs reason.
That's where it's at.
@@MJ-nx6vjcops kill twice as many white people as they do black people every year.
Are you like, 12?
Well I'm white as it gets and my mom received criticism for my behavior. "Welfare Mom" wasn't the stereotype, but she certainly was spoken of in a poor light concerning her negligence of her child and blamed for my behavior. In the absence of "diversity" all these same forms of judgement take place, just without the racial stereotypes. My problem with being offended by these things is it actually does remove the person in question from criticism regarding their choices and behavior that lead to the situation. When someone is criticized in an ignorant manner, the focus immediately shifts to the criticizer and no longer is the original persons behavior in question. This is paramount to saying "You're wrong too so I don't have to be right." Its sad that such things take on a racial tone and get lost in the wash. Such critical examination and social pressure on our neighbors helps to form culture and preserve morality. To say that people of other races can't criticize each other is to say they aren't a part of the same community. This is what people close to each other do...they are honest with each other even when its inconvenient. We do hold our neighbors accountable for their choices and behavior and preserve morality and social cohesion in communities. We see all these racial disputes as a bad thing but the fact we have them in the first place means we are a community. The extreme voices get the most attention but everywhere I look I see black people sharing in the American Dream more than ever. We're seeing Black Rappers come from white middle class suburbs. Sure there is still poverty amongst all races, but I'm seeing traditionally oppressed minorities move up rungs on the ladder more than ever before. Change doesn't happen overnight and nothing is ever perfect but I think we're overall heading in the right direction still.
Did you really have to name the video this? smh...mis-leading.
Black people don't vote. If you vote and engage the system, you can change it. All the other stuff is not as powerful as voting congressmen/ women, senators, mayors, council people and the president.
more like 70%.
really? look all over youtube .but what is he sayin that is so wrong? i dont get it? people get dumber as the world turns.
This is pathetic, he should shut his mouth
I used to really respect this guy. His talent is undeniable. But his virtue signaling has finally gone too far. Everything's easier as a white person is such a blatantly dismissive racist remark, I can't believe you stooped to this level. You should be ashamed.
albino is a condition.
As people we do need to come together, but Ali himself has alot of white guilt about something that is completly out of his control. The time of slavery is gone and people need to accept that. I for one would reperations for my native ancestors but the United States will never give that to anyone.
Salty:
A white person acknowledging the horrible shit white folks have done to black people in this country isn't "white guilt"---it's simply acknowledging that it happened, and trying to figure out ways we can move on form the aftermath/fallout from it. Whitepeople only throw up that "white guilt" bullshit whenever they don't want to hear about how they fucked over everyone in this country that isn't white---they just don't want to hear it, that's all.
i couldnt listen to this dude anymore
This guy is the definition of a self loathing fool. He suffers from white guilt
James:
Oh, be quiet. You're just mad as hell that he's speaking the truth about white privilege and white people , that's all.
shut up Jeremy. you're talking shit.

He's albino. black albinos look like this as well.

White boys buy up 60% of rap music---at least they did a decade ago.
