Is it just me or is Damon a lot more excited on this interview than usual 🤣
Yeah, that's good to see
Probably so he's doesn't seem as socially awkward when he's boys are with him ☺️ (not sure if he is socially awkward just how I am so a hunch) 😅
Maybe just you…😅 As usual I see him as a grumpy man difficult to interview and having a laugh of some of the questions as if they were stupid. I think he doesn’t like James that much neither, he gets very sarcastic for no reason
Just you obvs.
@@JuanMcGonzalez Some of the questions are stupid. Typical dumb ass DJ.
Is anyone else getting chills just seeing the four of them sitting together in 2023
Makes me happy and they look great for their age. Makes me want to reconnect with old mates again.
Absolutely ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Fuck.
How do you know?
It's much needed
Love how consistently grumpy Damon is in any public setting....its one of life's constants...
I don't really think he's as grumpy as some performers. I think he's hilarious at times with that English wit .
That's coz modern life is rubbish
I don't think you've encountered many grumpy people in your life... I'm married to one. What you're seeing here is not grumpiness. It's just the way most British people are. Low-key, a bit shy and awkward, low energy, and a bit negative/self-deprecating and skeptical, which often takes the form of banter, irony or even sarcasm. You need to really be used to this culture to understand it and appreciate it and not make wrong assumptions about people's behaviour, especially when comparing them to Americans (apples and pears).
@@evab2274 Hey Eva...im from London/Essex and am same age as Damon...worked in the building where Gorillaz had their first office and he was often in the bar next door. His interviews are well known for being a tad difficult...he knows it...recently he spoke about it...he only really wants to make music, the rest he sees as getting in the way.
Love Blur. Still all the same members. Sounding as great as ever!
Modern life is better with them :)
Nice one! Love that record. Don't you think Modern Day is the best one? Well, I do. Sooooo good. Coxahm's guitar playing is peak performance in that one.
It used to be my favourite for years. It's in the top 3 for me definitely. All the songs a great and the album is top start to finish.
Yeah, it's not rubbish anymore!
(Ok, sorry... :p).
what utter tools
@HAL 9000 it was rubbish, probably still is rubbish theoretically but it was and still is better with blur making new albums and touring..
Catch my drift?
I love the way Damon whistles when he speaks.
😂
A lot of senile people do that.
It's called sibilance. Gillian Anderson does it as well.
@@BAztid no it’s called Damonance
Never noticed until now! ❤
Love to see they slowly growing old and enjoying each other company after all the hassles 😅😅😅
old tools
Saw them at Wembley on the 8th July and they were fantastic. Fourth time watching them live and just as good as when I first saw them back in the nineties. Thank you Blur for such a great night and the last thirty odd years.
Such a great band. I saw them in Malahide Castle in Dublin a few weeks ago and they were great.
I have to get to a show in Wembley. The modern stadiums are normally brilliant for music.
I saw them on the 8th too! My first concert. It was a good first experience with a concert because the crowd was so nice🫶
Alex James - Works in an IT department
Graham Coxon - Runs IT department
Dave Rowntree - Assistant head of IT department
Damon - Works in marketing and came down to get his laptop looked at
Alex - the old lady with the handbag slapping around creeps
Graham - the creepy peeping tom looking for the next target
Dave - waiting for his opportunity to be the next creep
Damon - been there, done that, didn't know he was creepy
LMAO
I love how Damon looks at his watch at 12.20 and then talks about something that happened 35 years ago
Mr. Albarn and Mr. James butting heads since the 1990’s.
I never really felt that vibe tbh. I think they share some banter together which is great fun
So that jargon is tradition? I haven't seen that many early interviews.
I only saw blur once in the mid 90s and id love to see them again. I'm the same age and seeing these guys still mates and being creative is so inspirational.
I saw Blurr I want my f....kin money back
That’s beautiful
@@jameswyer772 Well I am in a sour mood
I would think the Beatles are Tools today
I am as sour as a Hairy lemon
I don't think they're still mates... They're just here for the money, but they're great together! ❤
Omg watching them together like this made me realised am old too 😢
I’m glad they are grown up enough to get back together make a new album and give the fans what they want unlike a fellow 90’s band…
Yes. The lack of new material from Mansun is unforgivable.
@@peterpinsent9304 this is my favourite comment
@@peterpinsent9304 😂😂😂
Yeah Gaz Coombes should get his head out of his arse and call his mates once again.
Yeah, but the two of them will be watching this reunion with interest.
They were amazing at Wembley last weekend…utterly smashed it
Brilliant to see them back and the new music sounding fantastic

Graham is so handsome in the thumbnail I think I'm gonna pass out 😭
This is such a good light hearted interview lol
I agree, feel like it would be so cool to sit and have a cuppa tea and chat with them 😂❤
so excited to see them at wembley ❤ i never thought i’d be able to see them live. i’m seeing pulp first then blur a week later. happy days!
Are pulp back together?
@@glennoc8585 somewhat. they’re doing some concerts this year. steve mackey already wasn’t going to be joining them but sadly he died a couple months ago. no signs of a new album though
Seen both bands but would bloody love to see em both again.
Bush is obviously nervous but excited to interview his favourite band. Alex was very pleasant to him, Damon could learn a thing or two.
Alex is always a charmer and great interviewee :)
Graham Coxon has come out with some most 'excellent...' music, so often since leaving Blur!
I think it's also much underrated.
His soundtrack record for "The End of the F***ing World" is absolutely stellar
thank god you back.blur is my favorite band
Damon just loves having digs at Alex does he? 😂
"I got the feeling we was going to go from irrelevant to forgotten, and I wasn't 'aving none of that."
Good to see them back.
Always amused the way Graham sounds exactly like Nigel Tufnel in Spinal Tap!
I still fucking love these blokes, how can you not???
I bought Graham Coxon a drink in Camden about 10 years ago, we exchanged music ideas, he even gave me his email to send him stuff. Nice guy........nice band!
A drink? Graham has been sober, according to him, since 2003.
The one person who seems quietly happiest is Graham Coxon as he now has a creative outlet after a long musically solitary winter
Blur is a band that caught my attention from the start, there's something about the music end the videos that struck a chord on me I can't explain. That song Tender breaks me in a million pieces. Some say artists are the antennas of mankind and I believe it!
There's a real purity to their ongoing reconnections and it's lovely to see. That it produces more worthwhile music is a nice bonus.
Love you guys so much !
For a 53 yr old seeing Alex missing a tooth and sporting a big belly makes me feel better about myself. We were all young and skinny once.
I was thinking the same thing!
That'll be the copius amounts of cheese and cider.
Just saw them last night ! They were amazing ❤
Top lads. Into Blur since a wee kid. So pumped about the news of a new album 😀
blur, are the only band that i can think of, that have come back with 2x brilliant albums
it’s so great to see them back together!
They are back and better than ever.
I'm so happy about them! 😊 🎉❤❤❤❤
What a fantastic interview.
Ready for this! patiently waiting in the US...
Really enjoyed this, nice to see them having a laugh!
Awesome to have Blur back, fantastic 👌👏👏
I’m gutted I missed them - we need more !
Saw them in Bogota very recently. Absolutely fantastic.
It was so amazing xxx❤❤❤
i love these guys
Great bunch of lads. Iconic legends the four of them. Coxton still sounds like someone you want to look after like a little brother or something.
Great interview! Now, I want to see Blur on a new Nardwuar episode.
Dave’s apologized to him years ago
@InDreamZ Dave apologised YEARS ago, privately and publicly
@InDreamZ never forget that interview!
Love this and just came out of the blue. Sound track to me youth.
Oh bring me back to the 90s!
Im so happy happy I will get to seek them live for the first time in Porto in 2 weeks
I wish they did a few shows in Canada. I can't afford to see them in Europe. Very happy that there's a new album.
They’re coming
@@alejandrocastillo9209 When? I don't see any Canadian dates.
@@Kaisersozze I’m sure once they announce the North American dates they will
@@alejandrocastillo9209 Fingers crossed then
@@alejandrocastillo9209 Maybe, maybe not. Blur haven't been here since 2003... They skipped us during TMW tour.
Saw them at Malahide Castle Dublin end of June. Amazing gig, as an English lad i felt quite proud among yhe Itish, them all having a good old British singalong
They actually came out to the theme tune to Crossroads, i reference lost on EVERY crowd member, except me (im 50) ... crossroads was rubbish but i remember Mum watching it !
These guys are just adoreable... Sweet
i love blur so much
I’m super excited 🎉
Some of you might find it strange, but as an Eastbourne resident, it got announced they would be playing the winter gardens and quite literally the tickets were gone and we had loads of people in the town, right up to today, pissed off that they didn’t get a chance to get a ticket.
These old folk… there are grannies down here with a WhatsApp group for a knitting group, another for the bowls club…
I was in Costa about a week ago with an 80 yr old explaining WhatsApp to her son (even though he knew about it) then go on to say “I’ve got eight or nine WhatsApp groups and then there’s the family ones…”
Her own son (from earwigging it) came down from Birmingham to see her, was stunned.
I was just laughing. My neighbour is a 76yr old guy, he’s got his mobility scooter and a blue tooth speaker and goes along the seafront with Iron Maiden blaring out, he was telling me a while back he had to delete a WhatsApp group because he accidentally put his ex-wife and ex-girlfriend in the same group as his current girlfriend…
So Eastbourne may well fill the Winter Gardens when Blur play, with loads of absolutely mental OAP’s
Tuesday, an old guy was sat outside my place in a battered VW camper van, smoking a huge spliff listening to Eminem at an ear splitting volume.
Damon throwing jokes glad they're having fun together
Love themmmmmmm
Love Blur. Yes!!!
Looking forward to the new album after hearing "The Narcissist" single. To me it sounds fresh and different but still essentially Blur. In other words, it hints at a nice evolution of their sound from where they left off with their last album.
Agree with Andy Bush, Graham Coxon, is among the greatest Brit guitar players.. He is underrated and has done great melodic riffs and parts..
Wembley was amazing.
I had to treble check to ensure this video wasn't 10 years old of something like that. What a fantastic bit of news!!!
Love Blur
Great!
24 gigs between May and November 2023.
Please come to Australia!!!!!!!!
Glad the boys had a chance meeting! 🤣
Met Alex James the other day nice bloke
wow wow wow is this a dream or what ♥
Deep love
Visionary talent
Totally X
Outsource the set list, that's fantastic.
awww boys i love you
you coulda knocked me over with a feather when i got the email announce
Come to Africa guys, I would be over the moon if I can attend a Blur show!
Japan!!.?… when and where.? Love it.
This interview revealed the fact that Alex James is truly forntman of Blur 😂
Yup. He's a true charmer 😄
Running wild-hot in anticipation for the gig @ Ziggo-Dome in Amsterdam (27-6)!
Fist time full-concert for me (just seen you guys @ festivals).
PLEASE play 'The Universal' (and if I may be so bold; 'Charmless Man')?
LOVE from Amsterdam!
I love to see them in the age as if they were my parents
their new song is an earworm, thanks blah
(Relieved sigh), There is again hope in our dim dark world.
Song 2 and Beetlebum 😎👌
Its afternoon this interview i imagined it to be morning earlier
They are in great shape.
Their live sound sounds even better and more full of energy, and vitality than maybe 20 something years ago.
Back on your feet lads, please do us and yourselves a big favour, make noise, music, gigs, shows, in other words... keep doing what you are doing because there are thousands, maybe millions of people who need to to listen to real great tunes.
You guys are the very few around who can make great beautiful sings and outperform yourselves like it is something easy to do.
There's plenty of youth in your eyes, and if the eyes are a reflection of the souls, you have more than you need to place lots of songs at the top of every chart, billboards, you name it. So make the most of it.
GOD BLESS EACH ONE OF YOU.
Thanks so much ... truly a colitis car pig journey.
Graham at 12:23 "Oh John Squire? Now it doesnt' mean as much"
Haha
Graham, should play a new Inspector Clouseau! Reminds me of Peter Sellers.
00:54 Nice one, keep it up!
Great interviewer.
I thought this was a great interview, with all participants adding thoughtful comments. Then I read this comments section and can only shake my head.
Let’s have it ! 🇬🇧 Knebworth Blur & Oasis reunion ! 😂 with love ❤️ USA 🇺🇸
Alex mentioned four gigs in South America, but only Argentina and Colombia have been announced. I hope Brazil is about to be confirmed as well.
Peru and Chile, that's it
Bra (Colin) Zeal
@@facundochejolan2605 Hope you're wrong but they've skipped Brazil before.
Albarn, no phone, no fool.
It's more like 25 shows, Alex
2009 was an expensive year for me, it was the year of my brothers 18th so I got me and him weekend tickets to download so I could see Faith No More, then I won tickets to Sonisphere to see Metallica and then Blur announced they were reforming and playing shows in Hyde Park. I couldn’t pass that up, they were brilliant live and if I get the opportunity I will be going to see hem live again but hopefully somewhere a bit closer to home.
I flew in from Norway for Hyde Park. I had wanted all that time. 😊
@@the_oslovian I had wanted to see them since I was 13 or 14 and then when I finally got a chance I was 27.
Graham is still so sweet and Damon is still incredibly attractive❤
Wish there were no edits. Would love to see the whole interview .
Been stuck in traffic and can hear them from afar, free concert anyone!?
Fuck sake, Can't hear a word any of them are saying apart from Alex and the DJ.
How hard is it to mike them up properly and increase the input levels if they lean back off the mikes.?? DOH!
Love the band and the new single. ...calm again.
I really love to see an oasis blur playing gig
Both bands playing songs together
