Mix Master Mike was and still is one of the best scratch and turntableism djs out there.
They are 3 and a DJ. Before this album the dj was only for touring but when this dj Mix Master Mike joined he on the albums to. He has won the dj world title so many times that they asked him to sit out for a few years. He's one of the best. The vido he's making the beat with one record scratching in the drums ect its just him and they a rapping live for the video and is shot in one take. They always said the main goal that they stuck to was to try and make eachother laugh. The first album in 86 they were wild and considered offensive by 89 they were done with tat look. left their record company move to california gave up beer for herb and psychedelics, atoned for their wrongs and their creativity went through the roof
This and Intergalactic were both directed by Nathanial Hörnblowér. Most of their videos were directed by Nathaniel Hörnblowér, who is also the uncle of Adam Yauch RIP (MCA raspy voice.) Mr. Hörnblowér was from the Swiss Appenzell and always dressed in traditional Swiss clothing. Lets just say he was hard to miss with red hair a Sherlock Holmes pipe lederhosen and a director' viewfinder around his neck. Some think he was MCAs alter ego, some think hes was MCA in disguise. You can see him if you search youtube he stormed the stage at the 1994 MTV Video awards when Spike Jonze didn't win best director for the BB Sabotage video its funny to watch. The is also a series of letters between Hörnblowér and the New York Times over a less than stellar review an handwritten application to the Recording Academy (funny), and a handwritten letter to the academy. BB were a super creative group also produced all their own music and beats, played instruments have songs in every style Jazz, Latin, Funk, Dub Reggae, Punk, Country a whole album in fact. you should google Hörnblowér (MCA)

He was their permanent DJ- he was so good at what he did that he was asked to stop competing in DJ competitions because he blew everyone else away. He is considered one of the GOATS of mixing/scratching.

They're like toys. They don't move until they hear music. Obviously that's just this video. And everyone thinks that's a proton pack on MMMike, it's supposed to look like an exterminator pack...like he's going in the basement to kill cockroaches.
If you like the when you hear some positive ideas in a song you should check out "Alive" by them. It's got some nice positive lyrics mix through out and it visually pleasing, very nice use of color. I see Paul Revere requested its probably not a good choice the music is very sparse and the were young it has some misogynistic lyrics. Before MCA became a Buddhist. These are some songs by them that are not rap but them playing instruments good songs. "Namasté," "Something's Got to Give," "Gratitude," " "Lighten Up," They have an impressive catalog and variety but people always react to the same songs Intergalactic 8 times in the past two week.
