When i sat down and asked god for happiness,
I never thought he'd send you.
Falling into your hands so softly.
Watching the sun glisten across my skin.
Sparkles falling from the heavens right into our hands
Sitting on the edge of the world
Watching as the waves crash against the shore in the way your lips crash to mine
Filling wounds from past lovers with gentle kisses.
I will always find home within you.
I always think about how this all started.
Dancing around in my dorm room
Asking friends how fast to give you my heart
Assuming you won't break me
Together we feel like a piece of vintage art
Hanging on some rich white lady’s wall
Or maybe the MOMA
Genuine beauty circulating between us
Now leaves are falling down in the autumn
You're the reason November tastes so sweet.
You remind me what love is supposed to feel like
You feel like the warmth of cinnamon scented candles
The gentle ease of aloe on my sunburnt cheeks
The scent of juniper and coriander as i fall asleep to the sound of your heartbeat
My love
Life with you is all I've ever wanted.
Life unjudged
Unconventional
And understanding
You know, One day when we’re old and grey
Sitting on the front porch in rocking chairs watching the squirrels fight along the fences
Or the cars race by
Our children won’t have to wonder what love looks like
All the ways the world shows us love will be mirrored within our hearts
In the same way the birds sing as the sun rises every morning
And the wolves howl with the moon every night
One day I hope you'll see yourself the way i see you
The way the light sparkles on the rim of your glasses
The way your hands fit perfectly in mine
How amazingly beautiful it is to watch you do something you're passionate about
There's something about the taste of love when it comes from your lips.
Something sweeter than anyone else.
Its refreshing, you know,
To finally have someone who knows the specifically mundane things
Like how i need a soft pillow on top of a very firm one
or how even if i let you share the covers i will steal them from you and make myself a burrito
So if there's anything i need you to remember it’s this

Finding new ways to fall in love everyday
Finding new ways to fill your life with love.
