some more backstory regarding my attempts: this video is the result of nearly 8 hours worth of attempts spread across 3 days. using strike raid against MF at first was a bit of a joke move on my part just to see if it worked after getting good mileage out of it against VLS, and behold, it actually staggers consistently against MF when you use it to punish the X attack. you can also use it to punish the rope if you throw it as soon as the line effect disappears, but to less certainty as the X attack. only on rare occasions did he ever manage to break out and combo me after punishing the X attack with strike raid, so its very safe. only 1 time during the whole 8 hour tirade did he ever stop time when I hit him with strike raid, which is super weird. Freeze raid does much more damage but does not make him stagger at all, so its super risky to use. Unison Rush is incredibly risky, but also very helpful for second phase as it has full invulnerability and can actually do a good deal of damage if MF tries to combo you as you use it. I would of actually killed him at 6:07 if I hit him one more time with it On a side note, I discovered a faster way to cast Dark Haze: normally it has a flashy charge up before the attack comes out, but if you mash it while in a slide, you'll do the attack with the same activation time as a slide. Overall, I had a surprising amount of fun with this strike raid method since I found it incredibly satisfying to actually stagger this asshole consistently with it, and I've always found Terra's slide incredibly fun especially combined with moves like Strike Raid and Slide Dash. First phase is actually pretty reasonable outside of bullshit moves like lasers and that aerial dash attack which kills you for no good reason because of how aerial stagger is programmed in this game, since Terra recovers /faster/ for some ungodly reason in midair when he gets hit from the back or something, which means if you aren't slamming your cures as soon as you get knocked in mid air, you'll die in a flash.

I wonder if this is true. The reason why the Mysterious Figure is so hard on the original PSP version is because when they were programming this fight, they used patterns and coding that would be found in games like Street Fighter and Smash Bros. Giving him the aggressive AI and overpowered move set similar to a character you would find in a game like that

Yeah, kind of disappointing, really. This should have been a preview of Master of Masters instead, not Xehanort but time travelling. He was just a lackey of Master Xehanort, too.
I salute you good sir. Thank you for putting out this beautiful content to prove that Terra has capability even for the most unreasonable of Kingdom Hearts bosses. :) You got a like from me.
I'm trying to get the Platinum for each KH game on PS4 and I started with BBS because playing it on the PSP wasn't great. Beating this guy with Terra is all I have left, so knowing it's possible gives me hope.
so quick story time, my brother was watching me do this for the third and final time as terra after seeing me lose so many in a row as aqua. (my deck consisted of only thunder surges for reference, because why not). "this will take me probably a day or two", I said as the boss fight started. 3 minutes later I stand victorious to a beaten boss, no damage taken, a brother who thinks im a god, and a dumbfounded look on my face because I did it first try.
I love how detailed Terra's keylade summoning anim is animated as opposed to that of Ventus and Aqua.Theirs just appears in a large streak of light but Terra's has a whole complex summoning animation with the rows of circles made with several blocks creating a gear like appearance around his arm while also having an exclusive digital-like sound effect.
Having platinum’d everything on critical with a few months to spare (including maxing all affinities for a fking internal trophy), going back and beating MF with Terra withh no surges is worthy of consideration... Thanks for the inspiration
This was absolute hell even with Aqua and Ventus. This is just a really terrible super boss because of how it enables you to dodge 80% of the fight just to survive. Blocking doesn’t do any good for most of his attacks.
So, three things I would like to point out; one, I never considered using unison rush when MF went invisible, which would have made it SO much easier for me (I never even bought it before). Two, he NEVER used the cross-lash attack against me as Terra. I looked into that and it was because either I was too high of a level and his move sets change as a result, or it is randomly pre-determined from when you start up a new file for Terra. Three, he VICIOUSLY used the Doomsday attack against me, in one fight he even used it 4 times in a row; Did you know that the clock's counter decreases by one value every continuous start up? For example the first time is 5, if spammed again starts at 4, then 3, and then it is 2, which stays that way until you can avoid getting caught up in it for more than 1 minute, before it resets back to 5. That less-than-2-seconds-window is completely broken, just like my thumb after that fight. I didn't beat him in the end, which I can accept because if I did, I would feel no satisfaction what-so-ever in his defeat. #MiddleFingerForMysteriousFigure
As a note, Doomsday spam is triggered based on the number of healing commands you have equipped. A video on some of the BS built into his AI can be found here: czcams.com/video/fj-SIykMFlQ/video.html
+Stickman Sham Actually, that change to MF's Collision Magnet occurred as early as the initial Final Mix release of BBS. @@FlaWLessMinigun I am so glad I'm not the only one who had too much time on their hands with that game.
But yeah, the lesser versions of the spell recharge faster, so since MF hits so damn hard the speed is really what matters, not the heal amount. >1hp = we livin'
In BBS, all tiers of Cure take the same amount of time to reload.
I still remember the nightmare fuel that was this fight on the PSP with Terra. This rope thing meant insta-death 99% of the time...
Congrats btw, loved the creative strategy!
On the Vanilla version, yes.
On the Final Mix version(which was Japanese Exclusive at the time) on the other hand, they patched it out so you can dash out of the Collision Magnet/jump rope move.
You're right, but I can only speak of the version I played which is original european release of BBS :P
LOL at 4:02. He's walking over to you off screen and it looks like you were like "OH SHIT!" and backed away
That finishing move. It's like he didn't expect Terra to suddenly dash and stab his gut.
I remember back when the PSP version came out everyone swore up and down that you couldn't legitamately beat this guy with Terra without Thunder Surges. Bravo Stick, your dedication to this game far eclipses my own
So these are the dephts of hell *HELP* *ME*
Phantom: *smacks terra*
Terra: Heal!
*rinse and repeat XD*
Man, there are a couple perfectly timed uses of Leaf Bracer in this video that just blow my mind. As a die hard BBS fan I really appreciate this video, well done
6:43 Ooooo, right in the gut.
This isn't enough, I need a worst kind of self-torturing, how about this: 2 cure, fire dash, blizzard edge, fire strike, fire and thunder
With Terra, obv
Are- are you okay? Do you need help?
@@lunarn3t229 Probably
Because I actually tried and managed to beat that brain-killing type of torture, with every damn secret boss of that damn game, and it was PAINFUL
@@DarkSeeker9713 .....................................................................................
Understandable, have a nice day.
479-531-3483 here's the number to my therapist she's fuckin awesome at listening.
DarkSeeker 9713 You forgot one thing. That is try beating it with the default weapon
He was merciful. He almost never used the instakill exile move on you.
Ha, just kidding. This fight doesnt know mercy.
"Welcome to the Salty Spittoon. How tough are 'ya?"
"How tough am I?! I beat the Mysterious Figure on Critical Mode without any cheap Commands or Drives."
"*Scoffs* Yeah? So?"
"With Terra"
"Uh! Right this way, sir..."
At 4:58, you can see Mysterious Figure recover HP.
I am terrified.
He really only does that when you try to use shotlocks. He rarely will heal guard otherwise.
Honestly I feel like people heal in proud mode not necessarily because it increases you chances of winning but because the low hp noise is so damn irritating.
Well dont blame me, I dint want to die
0:29 mysterious figure: *blows away commands*
Me: WHAT?!
2:01 PERFECT SYNC!! (kinda)
I wonder if this is true. The reason why the Mysterious Figure is so hard on the original PSP version is because when they were programming this fight, they used patterns and coding that would be found in games like Street Fighter and Smash Bros. Giving him the aggressive AI and overpowered move set similar to a character you would find in a game like that
My favorite move is when he REWINDS TIME IF YOU HIT HIM WITH A BASIC ATTACK. 10/10 Thanks Nomura
let's go let's go let's go let's go you are done
Eraqus: Terra, Aqua you both preformed commendably. (suddenly sees future Terra killing Young Xehanort without surges) However, since Terra has changed our fates in a good way, only Terra has shown the mark of mastery by default.
Aqua: But he used darkness in the clash between me and him.
Eraqus: I've somehow seen the future and it's shown me that He killed the Xehanort in the past, but there is always next ti-
Aqua (Under the control of darkness): *You Freak! I'm going to kill you!*
Eraqus: Has the darkness taken you, Aqua!?
Thats amazing the way you use Terra to beat Mysterious Figure
It's so weird and cool to think that tetsuya put young xehanort, xemnas, and anti-aqua in the games as secret bosses knowing full well you will be facing them in future games where you actually stand a decent chance. It makes you wonder just how far along did he plan.
Anti-Aqua? She was never a thing before KH3
Kh2.8 boss in the mirror world? Secret boss after you beat the game? Would you not consider that the same boss fight, but taken down a notch?
@@97Sukoi Oh right, the Phantom Aqua superboss. Yea I agree Anti-Aqua is just Phantom Aqua with some darkness, and less attacks
5:04 "Missed me~." - Why you...!
Stickman sham how did you beat mysterious figure like that with terra? I have never seen anyone beat him with terra before.
roughly 8 hours of attempts with this loadout and he'll eventually grant you mercy in second phase if you play perfectly
@@StickmanSham well in that case congratulations on beating this very unfair secret boss who we all know leads up to the Direct boss of Dream Drop Distance that spams that clock on you multiple times if you know what I mean.
Bc he is the best BBS player
Ooof Bizkit047
Xer0o0 HASSAN CHOP biz is definitely a leading example of players who know how to properly option-select their way through the insane scenarios MF throws at you, but i think i have to credit myself in finding out about the strike raid technique since ive never seen it done before
This is one of the best videos on youtube. Always makes me smile. ❤
The world should know how much skill this takes. To be one of the few who defeated mysterious figure with Terra, especially on critical are the elite of the elite. And this guy didn't use surge.
4:23 I do not know how you dodged that tbh
"Let's Go."
"Let's Go."
"Let's Go."
"You're Done!"
"You're Done!"
"Let's Go."
There's nothing "honorable" about this fight. You do you man...
This should be a world record that you manage to beat this as Terra without surges or that you kept your sanity after doing this.
Mysterious figure = young xehanort ??
yeah
no,their clothes are diffrent
Joshua Suh Days does NOT explain that lol bbs does and it doesn’t directly tell you, you just have to put the pieces together
Joshua Suh okay? They said Ventus looks like Roxas not “where can I learn more about Roxas’s past?” You know? So it seems like you’re answering a question that wasn’t even asked, or just plain directing them towards something that won’t answer their question. Not trying to be a dick but like, what?
Yeah, kind of disappointing, really. This should have been a preview of Master of Masters instead, not Xehanort but time travelling. He was just a lackey of Master Xehanort, too.
I salute you good sir. Thank you for putting out this beautiful content to prove that Terra has capability even for the most unreasonable of Kingdom Hearts bosses. :) You got a like from me.
You don't know how truly bad you are at this game until you struggle with this boss...
...on beginner/standard difficulty.
Even with thunder surge i could'nt defeat him. well played
He repaid your honor with the spiciest set up up tornado + meteor + raging storm.
I'm trying to get the Platinum for each KH game on PS4 and I started with BBS because playing it on the PSP wasn't great. Beating this guy with Terra is all I have left, so knowing it's possible gives me hope.
That clutch leaf bracer at 3:33 tho!!
I love that I am not the only one who uses Chaos Ripper with Terra.
so quick story time, my brother was watching me do this for the third and final time as terra after seeing me lose so many in a row as aqua.
Are you, in fact, God?
If so, we love ❤️ you!!
Legit, when I saw the title, i thought he was going to just spam thunder surge
4:53 YOUR DONE
YOUR DONE
YOUR DONE
I love how detailed Terra's keylade summoning anim is animated as opposed to that of Ventus and Aqua.Theirs just appears in a large streak of light but Terra's has a whole complex summoning animation with the rows of circles made with several blocks creating a gear like appearance around his arm while also having an exclusive digital-like sound effect.
Can you imagine if MF had KH3 or even KH2 tier health bar totals. Pure lunacy.
I think any method of fighting the Mysterious Figure as Terra is honourable. Screw his countdown of doom!
my favourite part was when he said your done
Having platinum’d everything on critical with a few months to spare (including maxing all affinities for a fking internal trophy), going back and beating MF with Terra withh no surges is worthy of consideration...
Thanks for the inspiration
Sham you are a mad man for doing this. I never got to try the secret boss but I beat everything else on the PSP version
Mysterius figure doesn't like this video :O
Now 6
This man really gave us the fight of our lives then dipped
1:34 he pulls a Vergil!
Wait....you can escape when he goes to the air and grabs you!? O.o
yeah, they changed that when they made the ps3 version
@@StickmanSham oooh, so that's why, anyways, good job on beating him, that was so close
+Stickman Sham
Actually, that change to MF's Collision Magnet occurred as early as the initial Final Mix release of BBS.
I don't look like much, but I was one of, if not THE, first player to actually defeat MF at Level 1 on the PSP FM version [with Ventus]. Hours of my life, gone... and for what? People automatically doubting me until someone else did it.

Completely unnecessary to mention this yet still no one cares.

Genius at its finest
MoM or Luxu?? The "No name" maybe is a clue... for MoM.
It's young Xehanort. You can tell because of the blue blades.
Boi.
The sad part is terra knew this was coming
1:11 Now you're just showing off.
Useing terra it's feels like I'm in wheelchair
For me, the hardest boss in every KH game and the hardest in every game i played in my live, remember when i played BBS and never couldn't defeat him, 6 years later i finally beat that Nightmare.
Re-watching this video and I never knew strike raid could clank
Even after watching this video dozens of times
Also, unison Rush's damage goes by your magic stat. Just fun fact
how can one fight honorably against the one who has no honor?
Plankton: It's not worth it! It's just not worth it!
That one dislike is that one person who thinks this boss is well designed and that surges are a legit strategy
