Remember Manny Malhotra? A #7 overall pick who was not a big scorer. NYR traded him away for little in return. But he did develop into a useful bottom 6 guy. Hard nosed, defensive minded & very good at faceoffs. Might have been an eventual Selke winner, if it wasn’t for an eye injury. The question is: does NY just give up on a player who doesn’t meet superstar expectations, even though he does show tools of being a useful role player? Can the Rangers learn to embrace Kaapo for what he is, instead of being frustrated over what he isn’t?

I am happy to have Kakko on the roster - I like the guy - but he will finally have to bring the offensive game that we have been waiting for. His defensive game is good, but I would like to see him find the net.

if it is a prove it season, then u give him top 6 min. the rangers need to come to terms if he is a top 6 or not. if he is not then let him run wild on 3rd line, but trean him and grade him as a 3rd line wing not a 2nd pick of the draft.

Kakko just gave the Rangers a 3rd Rd. pick in a sign and trade deal. MANY teams would take a chance at 2.4 mil. We don't need to pay him, when we have guys like Orthmann waiting in the minors, for entry salary.
if he is an add in on a trade... then jake was never coming to the rangers at the deadline, if you believe that drury wouldn't add kappo to make the trade

kids 23, if they are gonna give him a chance, then do it. not 3 games here and 3 games there. put him on a line a leave him there. . everyone before last year called laffy a bust..... don't say you didn't cause everyone did. then he was put on a line with bread and they left him there... give kappo the same chance as laffy, wheeler, rosilvic etc..
