I think it would be more impressive and more desired if it projects a smartphone in your hand and you can surf, call, text, and everything else as if you were on a real smartphone. Projecting these graphics on hand doesn’t work.
That's probably closer to the future tho. Smartphones will eventually be replaced by another technically that is more practical. I can see a replacer of the smartphone being something closer to this rather than a phone. It looks bad because, well, I suppose, it all starts with baby steps
