His grandfather was a hero of eminence strength of character, and should be remembered as such.
He had flaws like believing the enslavement of Poland was their right. But yes a profile in strength and courage.
@@williambrock3534 I think that was at first
Not really, the conspirators were all Prussians who were fine with supporting the war until they started losing it.
It´s really great to see how the grandson look like the grandfather.
You could say Staufemberg himself is talking. Very nice.
Massacre88444 um highly doubt that
Yeah, it's just like they interviewed the real person (Stauffenberg himself). He still alive, get dressed and have looks in modern style.
& both so handsome
His grandfather is not only an example for Germany , but also for the world.
A monument of Courage, patriotism and sens of responsability. Remember he was very handicaped physically. Despite that he went straight ahead. Chapeau!
Your grandad was a hero ! His life should be celebrated.
i can see a resemblance to his grandfather, cool
He can be real proud of his heritage.
Of course he can,his grandfather was a murderer who when the Germans started to lose ,decided to turn against his guru Hitler, typical german bullshitter( oops, sorry not German, since Germany is Bavaria, and the Germany exists since 18 hundreds,Brandenburgian)
How brave you are to say all this-still would you do what he done?...i don't think so....
Anil Kumar Suvvaru Venkata, I can definitely understand your point. Stauffenberg had never starved millions of people like Churchill did. Yet, he is still the bad guy simply because he's German. And he had chosen to side with the resistance even before the Stalingrad catastrophe, not just because the German was losing. Surely, he was not politically correct by our modern standard. However, if Churchill can be celebrated as a hero, why can't Stauffenberg who risked his life to save millions?
Samyaza Morningstar GAVE his life to try and save millions.
The guy attacking him obviously didn't do proper research on the man.
Arthur Bunsch The entire plot started in 1941 and took until 1943 to get someone who as able too.
his grandfather was a hero
He would have been a hero had he attempted to kill him in 1940 when all Germans were Nazis as they were winning the war.
Semsem guess what he was a hero he and the others tried and lost their lives.
He certainly was.
He was a hero. There were plots against Hitler way before the war started, however as the war progressed and people were concerned with that it became easier to organize and operate. Also people started to realize they were being lied to and that Hitler was killing and persecuting his own people
A real hero would explode those bomb on his body and would be be sure of his mission's end.
He looks like his grandfather.
Very handsome.
His grandfather was a very brave man.
The resemblance is uncanny. Claus von Stauffenberg was extremely handsome and charismatic.
He looks like his granfather
he looks like tom cruise
I just got back from Berlin where I visited the German Resistance Museum in the Bendlerblock bldg. where Col. Claus von Stauffenberg worked. It was the German Army office headquarters back then. After walking through the m any rooms and exhibits, which included his former office, I walked out into the courtyard where he and his 5 co-conspirators were shot by firing squad. It was incredibly moving to stand in that famous courtyard on the same cobblestones where he stood. It looks exactly as it appears in pictures of that time except for 6 identical trees which I assume were planted in memory of the 6 brave officers who tried to assassinate the most evil monster that ever existed. As I stood there, I wondered, "What were his final thoughts?" as he stood there with the blinding car headlights in his eyes waiting to be shot?
So young, a loving husband and father who sacrificed his life to destroy such evil. What a HERO this man was! What BALLS it took to do what he did.
it gives me a strange wave of goosebumps that his last words were "long live sacred Germany!"..
I visited there last year as well. It was deeply moving and I walked so carefully out of reverence for the memory of these brave true German patriots.
I think it was best said on The German Resistance Memorial Berlin 'You did not bear the shame, you resisted sacrificing your life for freedom, justice and honor.I have read books on Claus Von Stauffenberg, and watched the movie. Most appropriate of all is this quote: The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. Claus Von Stauffenberg and his equally brave associates tried to do something and it must always be remembered, for they knew if they failed what the terribly consequences would be. For if we don't study and learn from history, we have no future. I salute all those who took part in the attempt to get rid of Adolf Hitler,
ANY WAY, sincere CONGRATULATIONS FOR THE FAMILY OF VON STAUFFENBERG....HE WILL REMAIN FOR EVER IN HISTORY
My Uncle Eddie landed in southern France in 1944 and ended up in southern Germany in 1945. He commanded a Sherman tank, was in combat for 11 months, won a bronze star, was wounded twice, had 6 tanks shot out from under him, deliberately drove into an ambush to save his friends, liberated a concentration camp and got his crew home alive. My uncle was the definition of a real hero.
No he was not.
Ok, but what has that to do with this video?
@@jeffrandall4046 WWII
@@shabaanj8413 Yes he was. He went places and did things that made him one.
@Halo Jripp He was my uncle. And thanks.
you are precious and what a blessing to be the grandson of a German patriot
All the nazis were German patriots fighting for Germany,Stauffenberg wasa hardcore hitler supporter till the time when they started to lose the war, tgan like a weaseo they wanted to salvage anything they can.He hated the jews as much as Hitler,.
sorry i don't discuss with ignorants
Sounds like you knew him personally and all about him...how come?
You so pretty
Actually he wasn't, you should do more reading on the subject. He in fact witnessed a massacre in Russia while serving as a staff officer and the experience deeply shocked him. It was from that point forward that he realised just what the Nazi's were capable of and he resolved to do something about it.
Colonal Von Stauffenberg = TRUE LEGEND AND HERO OF GERMANY! I salute your grandfather! R.I.P Stauffenberg
And the Co believers/plotters.
Oberst Claus Von Stauffenberg ist ein wahrer Patriot, ein ehrenwerter Mann in einer Bosen Zeit in der Geschichte der Menschheit.
Your father tried to save Germany from humiliation but things didn't go well :(
Not humiliation. But from a dark history that has stained Germany for years
*GRAND
Grandfather
Gross father
@@Nelo_Wolf Such a huge difference.
Grandson of a very brave man.
Handsome guy. He honors his grandfather well.
I'm an Indian, and I absolutely have huge respect and appreciation for the Resistance group. Especially Stauffenberg.
He can be proud of his grand pa, he looks like him so so much 🍀✨
Such a well spoken family member of a bonafide hero. Your grandfather would be proud of your composure.
wow, with shorter hair he would be a dead ringer for his grandfather. Amazing. His father looks like the mother's side of the family
of course his father looks like the mother side of the family, how could the genes of a women married with Claus von Stauffenberg not be stronger than Stauffenbergs genes himself xd It needs "at least" second genneration^^
Claus Von Staffenberg is a true hero
Indeed he is.
Holy moly! Upon first look, he has the old Tom cruise hair, but how much does he have some similar features to C. Reeve and someone...
Much prayer, respect, admiration to his grandpapa RIP.
he looks just like staffenberg
his grandfather is my great, great uncle
Whatever some people may write here, as a Russian, and as a grandson of someone who fought the war, I congratulate you on having such a heroic relative.
My great Uncle is General Fredrich Olbritch. I'm trying to find footage of him. He looks Exactly like my Uncle Chuck
Courage
@Klara vs That's so cool! That must be so awesome for you knowing you're related to one of the world's all-time greatest heroes.
A Hero.
This movie is great thanks to Tom Cruise who did a fantastic job playing Claus von Stauffenberg.
U look so like him
Be proud of him
A great human being as I'm sure u are too
"Es lebe das heilige Deutschland" was Stauffenbergs last words.."Long live holy Germany".
He looks so much like his grandfather
On he is handsome. Just like his grandfather.
Rip to Claus’ brother Berthold who wasn’t in the film, he was also part of the plot
I read somewhere that Field Marshal Karl von Rundstedt, who frequently disagreed with Hitler, who was also dismissed by Hitler by calling him “ a fool”. And later was replaced by Rommel Von Rundstedt knew the plot, but he didn’t support the plot, but also did not tell anyone about it. He was approached by Rommel supposedly, but he didn’t think it would work. He was asked about the plot when he was in British custody after the war. He thought Stauffenberg and Beck was naive. The army wouldn’t necessarily just follow Stauffenberg and Beck even if Hitler was assassinated.
I think his Grandfather is the only WW2 German soldier to have a statue in Modern Germany
Von Stauffenberg was an honorable man.
Your grandfather was a brave officer and a hero.
His grandfather, Claus von Stauffenberg, has to be one of the most courageous men in history. Simply amazing.
My great uncle is General Fredrich Olbritch. He looks Exactly like my uncle Chuck. If anyone knows of any footage of him I'd be grateful thankyou
Sophie and Hans Scholl were the real heroes.
White Rose ?
He looks a lot like his grandfather.
This grandson is alot more interesting than the movie itself.
Handsome young man and smart . down with his family past
Nice to hear you
In desperate time desperate measures must be taken by extraordinarily brave men and women to sacrifice themselves for something far greater than themselves in the name of humanity. Colonel Von Stauffenberg was that person and is a hero in the eyes of the world.
Nice ididnt know that his grandson acts in the movie,
i did watch the move in teather wirh muly lovely ex girlfriend, she cried at the end.
As we all know your grandfather's last words were Long Live Sacred Germany.
why didnt he get the part of his grandfather?
He should have played the part of his grand father.
His grandad was stronger than most people in history was caught up in evil but said no that takes courage and sacrifice wat a man!!!
The man was a legend long live a free Germany
Wow he looks alot like his grand dad.
Never seen this man before and i am a stauffenberg
same gurl
Klara you know he was not in public until the movie.
He looks like this grandfather. What a HERO.
As a Swiss citizen of German descent I would say Claus von Stauffenberg would have been for AfD.
Totally Fearless...gave his all for der Deutschland!
Valkyrie is a very good movie. Cruise did a first rate job and his supporting cast is excellent. Stauffenberg was Germany's guardian angel. He was the only man known to have stared down Adolf Hitler. Pure good vs. pure evil. Check out Peter Hoffmann's book on the brothers Stauffenberg or Joachim Kramarz's work. "Es lebe unser heiliges Deutschland!"
his grandpa was a heroe
He like just like his grandfather!
He looks like younger Jon bon Jovi
he looks a lot like his granddad.
He has a strong resemblance.
What part did he do play? I love that movie and TOM CRUISE
@fadyb56 you are wrong he was not a traitor what he did was try to save germany for a mad man
Has his features that's for sure...
He was a hero during WW1 also.
I watched the film (for about the third time) whilst staying in the hotel (it used to be a large garage) at the Wolfs Lair in Poland. Slightly sureal.
Legendary granddad this man has
Long Live Sacred Germany!
"Can an Officer have a loyalty to anything greater than his country?
First, he must answer the question 'What is my Country- and does it still EXIST'" From a movie called The Exception, about the Kaiser during his exile WWII period.
Great movie
HEY GUYS don't say that he is not hero because he is part nazi regime HE TRIED to kill hitler pls this guy is a legend
A man that acted on his principles ‼️
I never heard Tom Cruise referred to as "Thomas" before I suppose that probably is his full name though. He had wanted to do more promotion for this film but tragically John Travoltas son had just died around the same time it premiered so Tom opted to go to the funeral and comfort his friend John instead.
i would be honored to have a grand pa like that
Hero,Patriot.R.I.P. Count.
If only he succeeded, Germany would have looked different today with its beautiful architecture and we would have seen all the beauty of their cities
People in Europe speak brit English, the accent is a different issue because English is a Germanic language, hence the similarity!
Clauss von Stauffenberg was a hero... the grandson must be pride of his grandfather
True facts that are well documented.
Claus von Stauffenberg was one of the greatest of the greats. The movie was fine for what it was - showing the events leading up to the July plot. It was not meant to be a study of the multifaceted character of Claus, so it should not be judged on that basis.
His Grandfather was a Hero!!!
Nobility demands sacrifice. As exemplified by Col.Count Von Stauffenberg.
He looks like his grandpa that is uncanny
Stauffenberg was a gentleman
As is also I sure is his grandson
@mikey1011mikey Yes, just like his granddad. when you look at the historical pictures, there was something about him - even with the eyepatch. This grandson of his is also very clever - one can see it in his eyes. Also his English is awesome. I would never guess - apart from the accent - that he is a German. he speaks so fluently. Is he married..? LOL
La traducción al español está muy mal hecha. Es extraño
One can see this in the mannerisms
The gradson of "Claus Schenk Von Stauffenberg" ...
The movie Valkyrie was a very good film and it wastrue to the events in real life and Col Von Stauffenberg is a hero and was a good man. RIP.
"They'll Remember You".
I never heard Tom Cruise referred to as "Thomas" before I suppose that probably is his full name though.
Grandfather a very, gutsy man. Be very proud of Oupa. RSA
I was born on July 20
It was a hero......... Who? Clauss von stauffenberg! Of course👍👏
This guy's dad: am i a joke to all of you???
He does sorta looks like Tom Cruise.
@MsGnorts its very clear. i think u just dont want to understand it.
Why is his last name Schulthess? did he not want to keep Stauffenberg?
He is probably the son of one of Claus von Stauffenberg's daughters…
WHAT PART DID THE GRANDSON PLAY IN THE MOVIE???
Either Treskow's or Remer's aide---not sure which.
General Treskow aide when he try to smuggle a bomb in Hitler's plane.
Wait who did he play in the film?
Treskow's aide.
Pity Von Staufenberg was played by Cruise. Personally, that spoiled the film for me.
