After Sid (John Alberto Leguizamo) pilfers some dinosaur eggs, Manny (Ray Romano), Diego (Denis Leary) and the rest of their prehistoric pals enter a mysterious, underground world to rescue the hapless sloth. During the course of their mission, the gang encounters many creatures great and small, including hungry carnivores and a relentless, dinosaur-hunting weasel named Buck.

Agreed I actually forgot that was his for years and realized it around a year or so ago because I always called him Manny
Diego shows how the sabretooth tiger went extinct how they fell out of the evolution circle and the predators couldn't evolve as fast the prey. How being big as a mammoth didn't help but being fast as gazelle was far better.
In the first movie, they said the title.
"Why do they call it the Ice Age?"
"Because of all the ICE!" I think that's how it went.
Buck is one of the the best characters of the franchise. ONE OF THE BEST CHARACTERS OF THE FRANCHISE!

Loved the contrast between your reaction and Cody’s reaction to scrat finding the female squirrel, you were completely trusting of her and actually felt bad that scrat wasn’t sharing, while Cody was completely untrusting of her and just kept saying “don’t” lol, both sides are fun to watch

Definitely my favourite one of all the saga. Buck is such an amazing character and I love also the dinosaurus of this film, specially the mommy T-rex and Rudy. When I saw him for the first time I was really scared, I was so young 😂. Liked also the adventure they’ve done to find Sid.

Buck is my favourite character of this movie. Awesome voice acting job by Simon Pegg.
I personally feel like this movie is the best ending to the franchise, with Ellie saying "Welcome to the Ice Age."to Peaches, showing the ice mobile with all of the animals, including Buck and Scrat losing his acorn again. "Continental Drift"wasn't too bad, but it feels like it rehashes Manny's story from this one. "Collision Course"was awful though. Unfortunately, after "Spies In Disguise"(which I actually liked)didn't do so well, the studio that did "Ice Age"went under, so we won't get any sequels to fix any bad writing from 5.
I think Manny is pretty justified in his fears in this one, given his previous wife and kid were killed prior to 1.
That one moment you see Rudy, the Baryonyx reveal himself, the Indominus Rex from Jurassic World pops into your head. 😅
Plot twist: he was an early draft for the Indominus Rex

30:40 - They actually mention "Ice Age" in the first one during the migration scene at the beginning. Also, if you want to see more Buck, you need to watch the fifth movie. It's not a great movie, but Buck is always enjoyable.

The “Roger!” scene cracks me up every time! Crash innocently suggesting “let’s get Sid and we’ll go back for Roger” 😭
Fun Fact: The reason that Diego got winded after chasing that deer is the same reason that the Saber tooth Cats went extinct. It’s a matter of specialty. The Saber tooth cats had the big stalky limbs to bring down big prey. And only had a limited amount of stamina. Similar to Gimli and the Dwarves from Lord of the Rings.
In regards to the time jump in the 1st movie, I believe that the creators originally hadn't anticipated needing to make another movie, so it ends on a cliff-hanger.
I remember I loved this movie when I was younger. It's so adorable that I didn't get any of the "adult" jokes in it😅
I also remember I had it on DVD but it had some scratches on it so I couldn't watch the end and I was really mad about it😂
It's also so weird to hear Buck with such an accent since i watched it in danish and he just had kind of a weird voice in that version
Whatever people say about the sequels, the animation still keeps improving!
Also, I actually really like the fourth one and consider it underrated. It’s been a while since I’ve seen 5, though, so I can’t remember it much except for the premise...

I actually liked Scrat and Scratte together, I think they could've worked. And if you pay attention, during the song "Alone Again (Naturally)" where the acorn "looks sad", it's the only time in the entire series where Scrat didn't get hurt or got into a bad situation. Only when he was actually away from his acorn and with Scratte did he really feal truly happy. It's kind of a sad little detail (that's probably not intentional).
Also, Rudy is an unnaturally large albino baryonyx in case you didn't know.
I don't know why, but when I was little I used to think that Rudy was the dad dinosaur.😄😄😄😂

Scrat abandoning the acorn for love is still one of the greatest plot twists in the history of cinema.
The 20,000 year time jump was just a gag for the end of the first film because they had no idea they'd make a sequel. The second and 3rd film probably take place about a year after the previous.

11:30 I can somehow imagine the reactions of the animals at that time if the giant sandworm from Dune (2021) made an appearance instead of the dinosaur.
These Dinosaurs have been around even before Meltdown. My theory is that when the time Buck was being chased by Rudy in a big storm, that was probably when the whole Meltdown was happening.

This film is also my favorite this Quadrilogy is about relationship and I love it and squirrel is also underrated hero ❤ .

I remember when my parents made me go to this day camp when I was thirteen one time, and they put on this movie everyday for the week we were there. I’m assuming it’s because they had no other movies.
