  • Hello Legends!
    It's been a bit of a nightmare getting this video out but here is my take on Air to Ground jamming as well as a bit of an explanation of what each jamming system does. I tried SteamVR view for recording an I think the shaking is worse so probably wont do that again. So Sorry about the shaking screen in the second half.
    Hope you find this helpful.

    2 things
    1: I landed that jet with only 1 engine working and 2: the VAM (Vertical Attack Missile) I think that's what it's called in vtol vr has a approximate range of 12 nm (nautical miles) from my experience at least

    I think what I might try for single player is setting a bunch of waypoints and making that into a path for the autopilot to follow while I'm in the back with more EW screens and control

    I've heard the DRFM switches to high noise mode automatically when the target gets too close. Do you know if that is true?

    • @TheFerretsWheels
      @TheFerretsWheels  Před 5 měsíci +3

      DRFM basically copies the signal it receives and sends it back. So the first signal it sends could be in the medium or the lower end of the high band and when the missile goes pitbull the tracking moves from the missile launcher to the onboard radar. This could change the frequency but as DRFM returns the signal it receives it automatically changes signal to match

    Ok, didnt know that the X on the Jammer screen ment that the Jammer is blocked, good to know.

  • @derek8676
    @derek8676 Před 4 měsíci

    I had no idea lock-on-jam missiles were a thing. I was so confused how I was always getting shot down by missiles without any RWR lock warning. Great video!
    On a side note, AGM-88s (and HARMs in general) seem to be bugged. They will ALWAYS give a "SHOOT" indication, regardless of range. Further, the range indicator in the HUD doesn't always appear. This happens primarily when selecting targets from the TSD. This seems odd to me, and no other weapon appears to work this way. Is this a bug, or is there something I'm not understanding?

    • @TheFerretsWheels
      @TheFerretsWheels  Před 4 měsíci

      I tend to ignore the range indicator for ground target. The AGM145s for instance can get a kill over 60 miles if you are high and fast enough yet the range indicator shows max range of about 15 miles

  • @0stuey
    @0stuey Před 5 měsíci +1

    Why do you turn off all jammers shortly before missile impact? Does noise jamming interfere with anti radiation missile accuracy?

    • @0stuey
      @0stuey Před 5 měsíci

      Additionally, why do you jam EWs? My understanding is that they cannot guide sams and therefore pose no threat, but are more of an objective. Correct me if I’m wrong, comprehensive strategic-level info seems to be very scarce.

    • @TheFerretsWheels
      @TheFerretsWheels  Před 5 měsíci

      When doing some testing I found that the AGM188s would sometimes stray off target slightly. With jammers off I didn’t see the drift. My logical conclusion was that the noise the jammers were sending was effecting targeting

    • @TheFerretsWheels
      @TheFerretsWheels  Před 5 měsíci

      Depending on how you set up the mission you can still have EW radars as a detection method. There is a trigger in the mission maker for on detection so even if there is no direct connection to a SAM launcher it can still trigger enemies to hunt you down

    Does DRFM work to pull missiles off of allies? Or only yourself?

    • @TheFerretsWheels

      Only yourself and you need to receive the signal to change it

    The MW in the mission Dead Island is behaving kinda weird tho. Even when jammed fully it tracks the missial and shoots it down. Even when fully yamming the EW as well. Dont know why that is.

    • @TheFerretsWheels
      @TheFerretsWheels  Před 5 měsíci

      Possible that the jamming is causing it to miss slightly. The IR launchers also have their own short range scanners so cooking the MW truck isn’t 100% guaranteed to stop them shooting down your missile. Finally, when selecting a target on TSD the info box in the lower right will have a coloured bar at the top. The fuller the bar, the better the lock on target. Snapping the TGP to the target (within 25 miles) can help get a better firing solution. Shooting from long range with a poor solution can make you miss the target slightly

      @mariushusejacobsen3221 Před 5 měsíci

      If you turn to the side (reasonable, to avoid getting close) you move the jammer, and thus the jam corridor, to the side. The further the weapon gets out of the jam corridor, the easier it is to detect.

    How to set autopilot Speed? In previous models u just turn the button and adjust till your desired speed. In the EF-24G u can only press a button for current speed. I just cant find it. Do I have to click AP ON/OFf and then where to adjust speed?

    • @TheFerretsWheels
      @TheFerretsWheels  Před 4 měsíci +1

      There is no speed adjustment for the mischief, it’s more of a speed hold. It also only works up to mil power

    • @tttwicetower8195
      @tttwicetower8195 Před 4 měsíci

      @@TheFerretsWheels Thanks Bro! But isnt this a downgrade. If a bandit or friend is changig his speed slighty I could just turn the button to adjust to exakt speed. In the mieschief these small adjustment are not possible anymore. U would have to use the throttle and "wait" till u have the desired speed and push the button SPD again instead of just turning the damn button :)
