Am I the only who enjoys the home theater review videos from Never enough tech. Absolutely funny and informative. Very much underrated humour and great honest reviews. Love from India
Hey one is better than none!
That was the best ad I’ve seen on CZcams lmao 11:05
Dark Daniel agrees - Repsect!
Magnify vs. Sonos 🙏🏾
I’m not opposed - but Sonos and what Era 100s and Sub? If your comment gets a bunch of likes I’d do it
@@neverenoughtech yes I was thinking beam + 100s + sub mini. Just about the closest you can get price wise 😂
maybe Arc+Sub and no surrounds? Since it would already cost like double the Polk lol@@neverenoughtech
Yeeaahhh.. please review sonos vs polk
My Samsung Q990B broke down and Samsung refunded me, replaced it with Nakamichi Shockwafe 7.1.2. After testing it overnight, went back the next day and returned it as it sounds really bad. After a week of research i went home with Polk Magnifi MAX AX SR 7.1.2. After setting it up and hearing it for the first time, i was really impressed both Music and Movies. I think its even better than my former Samsung Q990B. Glad i made this purchase. You're review is spot on, i also have the Vizio M Series but the mid M-series, the next one below the model you reviewed.
This channel is a blessing! You will be huge!
Means a lot
The magnifi mini deserves your review. For the money, it’s insane.
It surprised me
I've been telling people including YOU about the Polk MagniFi Max AX SR for awhile now. I have owned 13 different soundbars including the Senheiser Ambeo plus with sub, Bose smart 900 with 700 Sub, JBL bar 1000, JBL bar 5.1, Sony's HT-Z9f with SA-Z9R rears, Samsung HWQ900A with 9500S rears, Klipsch Cinama 600 with surround 3 rear speakers to name a few and the Polk is the soundbar i kept and have now. As a complete package it's hard to beat at any price up to $1600. I paid $608.00 for it from Polk. What soundbar gives you 4 HDMI ports, rear speakers for true surround sound, Plays all the top Dolby AND DTS codecs, large subwoofer and easy to operate and control remote for under a $1000 dollars? It has a great immersive enjoyable sound to it with both Movies/TV & music. It even plays my SACD's thru my Sony player connected to the soundbars HDMI input. The Sennheiser Ambeo plus was a good soundbar but no rear speakers is a big downfall. Plus no on/off switch and buggy electronics and almost 3 times the price of the Polk was the difference for me. POLK makes great audio equipment not sure why people under estimate there soundbars?
You’re right. It should have a higher profile - I did all I could … appreciate helping to motivate me to check it out.
The Sennheiser could possibly be coming out with rear speakers this year or Q1 of ‘25. I’ve tested a lot of soundbars as well, and everytime I listen to anything even with rears, I find myself going back to Sennheiser simply b/c of the audio fidelity.
@@TravionMusic Don't get me wrong, i did like the Ambeo plus soundbar with the Ambeo sub. I really enjoyed the Sennheiser app too. However the Audio fidelity is not $1300 better then the Polk MagniFi Max AX SR and in some ways it's worse. The Sennheiser Ambeo really suffers from not having rear speakers. The polk just does a better job with a full room immersive experience with movies/TV and sounds almost as good as the Ambeo plus with music from a good source. Of course no one buys a soundbar if your only concern is music? Plus not having a on/off switch (big problem if not using CEC ) and a terrible remote is a problem to. According to Sennheiser no rear speakers in the near future if at all? At the BIG price difference between the 2 soundbars it's a no brainer. Pay about $2200 for the Sennheiser with subwoofer or pay about $700 for the complete Polk set up and enjoy the same immersive experience. Better if you like real surround sound not virtual surround. If some day Sennheiser does indeed offer rears it's only going to raise the price even more. Really making the choice even easier or smarter to go with the Polk.
@@skydancerforever Financially smarter, yeah. But there’s always the option to wait for a sale, and you don’t have to get the Sennheiser subwoofer. You can get a third party sub. Also you’re paying for more EQ control, and a room correction feature that does make a difference. Though, I do get where you’re coming from. For those who could care less about EQ control, room correction, and want the most cost friendly option w/ all codec support and surround sound the Polk is the better option.
@@TravionMusic Yes i did buy the Ambeo plus and Ambeo subwoofer when it was on sale for $1587.88 with tax. Still was a whopping $979.00 more then what i paid for the Polk MagniFi Max. One thing that's always been true with Audio and Hi-Fi is higher prices doesn't always mean better sound. I also have a third party subwoofer (Klipsch) i tried but the Ambeo subwoofer worked better and performed better. Room correction didn't do much in my room and yes it does have more EQ control then the Polk but in all honesty the Polk doesn't need any EQ. It's one of those soundbars that just sound good right out of the box. Plenty of speakers in the soundbar itself and with rear speakers no magical EQ is needed. It has plenty of speaker adjustments and has 6 sound (EQ) settings to fine tune. The larger 10" ported subwoofer does a better job then the 8" Ambeo subwoofer although both were good in my room set up. Like Dan mentioned in this reveiw the dialogue on the Polk MagniFi Max is cristal clear and exceptional even compared to the Sennheiser Ambeo plus which is known for being pretty good. I actually had the Polk MagniFi Max before the Sennheiser Ambeo plus. Then found the sale price on the Sennheiser so i bought it thinking it was going to be a better sounding soundbar. After 80 days of putting the Sennheiser thru the ropes testing everything i shipped it back to Crutchfield and Bought the Polk MagniFi Max again.... this time from Polk at a really good price shown above and couldn't be happier. I bought me a new Mokwheel e-bike for the price difference between the 2 soundbars. 😁
Love my Magnifi Max AX SR, bought it well over a year ago and still going strong
I just binged all your videos. I Had a great time! Your humor is awesome. Keep going. Love from Germany :)
Glad you got something from it. Appreciate the account!
Thanks for these videos! Great quality…
Appreciate it!
Great video as always!
Thanks!
So glad you said something about the show Masters of Air!! Because if your advice and reviews, I was able to get the Samsung Q990C then the 65QN90C last December and that show with the flak going off all around just sounds awesome!! 🎉thanks for the hard work!
Ps. Sounds like the Polk is gonna be your “go to” soundbar to compare with whatever comes next! 😊
I didn’t say it in the video but it is my new favorite budget system for sure … incredible value. But as I said it’s also just good period. It deserves another challenger if I can find the right one.
Love your reviews, and your dry humor tickles my ribs. Thanks again for your work.
Glad you like them!
@@neverenoughtech Love them !
😂😂😂 thanks for the death metal review spot.
Great review as always. I love how you do reviews.
Thanks, means a bunch
I sold my q990c and purchased polk magnifi max ax s2. Trust me, the sound profile is far far better than samsunb b and c. Voice enhancement feature works wonder. 10 inch subwoofer throws samsung subwoofer in trash. I have been looking for such a device for a long long time. Listen to polk before spending money on saamsung. Thx.
I get why you would do that
Wow very impressive about Polks audio quality. They were not even on my radar until today
I was surprised - it deserves a higher profile imho
We're looking forward to reviewing the MagniFi Mini AX!
When are you reviewing it?
I'm system shopping, if you had to chose between Polk and q990c what would you pick? I listened to the Polk at Best buy, was not really impressed, but the sample was short and I could not make adjustments
🍻 let’s go!
go we shall 🍻!
Thanks Dan! The budget sound bar's are really over looked, most reviewers only review the flagships.
Gotta give the li’l bars a voice
@@neverenoughtech lol yes you do. its funny, because the flagship's are never the top seller's or money makers for companies.
Amazing timing, I just received my Polk system today and will compare it to my Arc (sound bar only) and this was really helpful!
Curious to see how the “budget” but full surround + sub Polk system compares to just the arc
Polk system blows just the bar out of the water
How did it compare?
i cant decide on a new soundbar surround system. i have a large room and im currently using a tcl alto 9+ with a 85" QM8. I am assuming anything in this price range will be a major upgrade, no?
That Vizio soundbar is released around the same time Walmart is said to acquire them. It will be interesting to see how Vizio will fare under their auspices - especially with Walmart already having their own house brand with Onn.
Hmmm got smarter … missed that news
GOD TIER AD. WE NEED MORE. MOOOOOORRRREEEEEEE
I’ll pass it on to Dark Daniel but he’s been ignoring my messages lately. Too busy winning 🏆
My old Bose system has finally died, and I was actually trying to decide between these two systems. This made my choice easy, thanks!
Glad it helped
I've owned both a vizio system and polk system. My vizio stop turning on after a year. My polk rear speakers started hissing and popping. It grew like cancer and got progressively worse. I'm just waiting for a potential 990d.
I love buying open box to save money because it’s served me better than not. Most things I don’t get insurance on it and I buy a lot of open box items to save money. I had a JBL 5.1 for about $370 before I got the Nakamichi and I liked it.
Wow! Huge!
Plucky. Dark Daniel. Words I cannot EVER forget. You have my RESPECT. I think.... 🤣
Yes - “Recspet”
@@neverenoughtech Indeed. My fingers tend to "autocorrect". 😏
Nice Review. I am expecting delivery of a new 77" Sony Bravia A80L, and I am trying to decide between this Polk and a Samsung HT-990C. I am a little concerned that the Polk has no automatic room correction/level controls. Should I be? Right now there is only a $300.00 between the two systems, but I have read Samsung's quality control is spotty.
If you want a bigger atmos kind of rig - you should go with the C. If you want something refreshing - maybe a bit more musical - go Polk. I haven’t had issues with Samsung quality of late but they have a rep for a reason … i didn’t really miss the room tuning with Polk but it’s a major feature to not have
@@neverenoughtech Music is almost as important to me as movies, and I have a large enough collection of blurays where DTS decoding becomes important - which eliminates Sonos and a few others. I know from your review you had to dial down the vocals and turn up the rear surrounds out of the box, but how fiddley was it to get the system balanced after that? Does each introduction of new source material require its own adjustment with the remote?
Question!!! When listening to music on the Polk Bar what sound mode were you using! Maybe I’m a bass head but I have set the bar +6 for music in all stereo mode!
Movie mode voice -1 or 2 if I remember and bass 3 or 4
I was actually looking at these.
The q990c is perfect minus the hdmi 2.0. But it’s really bulky looking for my setup. Might have to compromise unless the arc gen 2 comes out
I’m really hoping it’s not a G2 but something different
@@neverenoughtech I’d be okay with something different too. It felt like the bar wasn’t living up to the 300’s as rears. But not many white sound system options. Bose rear speakers can’t compare.
Hello, love youre reviews. Maybe you can offer me a recommendation? I bought a Samsung HW Q90R in 2019. That was after I've seen your Sonos vs Samsung vid from back then. Fast forward to today and I'm puzzled. Should I upgrade? Is it time? Is it worth it considering the advancements we have today? Help me out here. And if so, what do I buy? I want to feel a significant upgrade or it's not worth the investment imo.
Oh wow - that’s an ancient video. You know , if you are interested in upgrading Samsung … you might wait another year as I suspect that will be a major change and if not (or the new thing is buggy and not good) you can get a discounted Q990D.
@@neverenoughtech Alright, sounds wise. I'll wait on more info from you. I heard whispers of new drivers for the 990E? Or was it D? Something like that.
Hey mate I had a q90 r brought in 2019 was good but sub started to crackle and samsung wanted 600 to replace also my arc was buggy I sold it and got the polk for 1700 nzd I havnt looked back bass is better music is way better and atmos top gun maverick shaked the house lol and I find the rears are really good even if no atmos in the rear I'd say go for it
So the bass adjustment controls the sub?? I can't understand why you wouldn't be able to control the sub level.
Dark Daniel for president 2024 ..respect
Seems like a good fit
If i hadn't found the q990c on sale for $850, I would buy the polk.
Really good but lack of info on what it can decode. are they THX certified? Dolby? Dolby Atmos? DTS X?
13:37
@@neverenoughtech thank you! Sorry i spoke to soon! lol. Great video.
Great video. Any chance of doing a roku streambar pro 5.1 review? Its $659.96 for the full system (left, right, center, 2 surrounds, and 10" sealed sub (pro model) ). It doesn't have atmos height channels, but lm wondering if the 5 separate channels and low price might make it worthwhile. Thanks.
I’ve actually had this system in my shopping cart but something always comes up that kind of overshadows it like a higher profile bar is released or will get to me sooner than expected … but I am interested in it for the reasons you mentioned - and it’s ridiculous that Roku only seems willing to do it
@@neverenoughtech Thanks for the reply. Hopefully you get a chance to review it. I'm considering buying it and I'm really interested in your opinion of this system. Thanks again.
this is what ive been trying to say about the "high dollar" soundbars.. anything passed $1500 in soundbars and you will NEVER get the extra $2500 worth of sound from a soundbar, ever i dont care what magic the company says is in it.. it will NEVER be worth $2500 more than a $1500 sound bar.. spend the money on an AVR/speakers at that point..
All audio products work like this the sound/dollar function is something approaching a limit given a form factor… a $3 speaker probably wins that calculation. I think the question is if I’m not getting AVR, what soundbar do I want … the dragon definitely proved itself more impressive than the Q990C - how might extra sound is worth is up to the market . I was impressed with the magnifi . Surprised it doesn’t have a bigger profile
The whole point of a soundbar is less clutter and simplicity. Going beyond a subwoofer sort of defeats their purpose. If you want a true home theater experience then do it properly with AVR and speakers.
@@johnb4905 logically we just went full circle.. people trying to spend $4000 on a SOUNDBAR are generally attempting to get a true home theater experience.. but will NEVER get $4000 "true home theatre experience" worth of audio
Is there an avr / speaker system that can do atmos as well as a soundbar without ceiling mounted speakers?
Polk Magnifi Max AX SR or JBL Bar 9.1? Same $700 price right now. I've heard of too many issues with Vizio and Klipsch (theres someone selling a used 1200 for $475 locally, claims barely used...tempting but i just read of headaches about it.
I’d go Polk
4k for the dragon is insane
U can have with that great traditional system that unmatched with any sound bar ever jus move ur ass and do some wiring if u have the spase otherwise the q099c is a great choice ❤
The dragon is sound is higher end than the Q. Is it thousands better … ? For some I suppose. I think the wiring option is just simply a non starter for many
@@neverenoughtech my self got interested in the dragon and got the q. Thank to you honest review am really enjoying it. Comparing to my first sound system with poor central speaker i replaced it that traditional cost system 600$ is better really immersive than the q. with that said i thought 4k give you much better that very close to cinema 🎥
Love and hate to see that the polk magnifi max is a great soundbar. It was one I was considering before spending just around 1.5k on a complete sonos system (arc, sub gen 3, and 2 sonos one's (on sale/clearance deals). Before the sonos me and my dad had samsung kits hw-q850 for me and hw-q900 with rears. Both of us loved the sound when they worked properly. However both had many glitches, errors and reliability problems. I gave mine away to a friend and my dad gave his kit to me when he also updated to a sonos beam kit. So far no issues with the sonos kits (but the setup isn't as smooth as it should be sometimes)
It would not surprise me if some significant % preferred Polk to your setup in a sound test (and feature comparison) but your setup is solid and flexible/upgradeable/reusable
That is a huge endorsement for the Polk. For half the price for a great and comparable sound. The only thing I didn’t like is the rear speakers always look like an after thought by almost all soundbar companies. Especially the Vizio in this showed comparison with the stupid tiny wires going to the sub. An upgrade to era 300s are on my shortlist and I can move the ones around to other rooms as smart speakers/full home audio. However I fill I would have been more than happy with the Polk and my pocket much heavier.
Hi, what's the name of the music listening app you're using at the 20-minute mark of the review?
Apple Music on Apple TV
@@neverenoughtech Oh, that's why it looks so nice. Thanks for the quick response
I had a demo of the first polk magnifi and it was horrible, so I'm curious for a demo on the new one
Well my experience definitely wasn’t horrible - probably worth a second listen
@@neverenoughtech I'll give it a go. I believe the newer one is way better now
lmaooo That ad was crazy
Polk audio magnifi or Samsung 930C at the similar price?
I haven’t heard the latter so hard to say for sure but my sense is that the C is probably gonna give you a bigger sound with better 3D audio
@@neverenoughtech i have heard (in the shop) 930C/990C it's really almost the same. 990C is a little bit better in movies (better bas) both I think are great in this category. I agree. Music in those 2 haven't satisfied me. My cheap stereo bookshelf Edifier 1700BT plays better than expensive soundbar. This is why I wonder is it Polk it could be better for me. Course I want better sounds in movies and in music as well. At least maybe 5.1 +amp will be better for me.
Can the soundbar alone compete with the Arc?
I think a significant % of customers perhaps 40% or more would prefer the magnifi bar sound
@@neverenoughtech That's wild considering the price difference. Thanks
Now i am confused, MagniFi vs q990c? :)
Depends on price … if it’s just a few hundred dollars different - probably the c
Depends on price … if it’s just a few hundred dollars different - probably the c
@@neverenoughtechin my country the price is identical, so I guess that makes it easy 😀. Thank you for the answer. It is annoying that it is much harder to test listen these compared to discrete speakers.

No HDMI 2.1 passthrough on either of these, meaning if you have a Xbox Series X/S or a PS5, and a 120hz 4k OLED/MiniLED TV with Atmos, DON'T BUY EITHER OF THESE.
Well - you can go through the tv. Hope is not completely lost.
I thought true Atmos requires eARC which is only possible using hdmi 2.1?
Atmos via Dolby digital+ requires ARC - Atmos via true HD requires eARC if it’s going to pass from TV to bar.
A bar does not require eARC if you plug direct into the bar for sound purposes
Now when it comes to passing video through the bar - if the tv can take 120 4k then it almost certainly has an eARC port that can pass lossless audio to the eARC bar if you plug sources into the TV
Can anyone else besides Sonos and Bose make aesthetically pleasing sound bars? I lost interest in the Polk after those stupid power adapters.
Sennheiser
Vizio does not honor their warranty. They can get stuffed. Buy Sonos and be done with it.
“Get Stuffed” I think my kids kindergarten teacher would call that a “spicy” word
