The whole twitch rabbit hole seems like a multi level marketing scheme, with people trying to convince you that sitting through 45minutes of complete mediocrity is somehow worth one highlight. If it's your second monitor content I would get it, but then at the same time, are you watching really? And if it's your first monitor content, then no wonder Twitch is being plagued with soft core corn, since the only reason you'd actually sit and watch that sh*t without being clinically insane would be parasocial relationships you've artificially developed towards the streamers, which honestly, if not insanity, is at least a red flag about one's mental health.

EU and NA had some great early games but the composure and teamwork of these eastern teams are solid

Honestly the macro and teamfighting required in some of the games weren't too far off what western teams already proved they can do.

I actually see that they try to hands check the eastern teams. They're never going to succeed in doing that, so I don't understand why they do it.
@@HappyGick I don't think thats the issue, just this game Licorice 1v1 369. The issue is the mid to late game map control and picks. The east are soooo good at controlling the map and being equal in gold even though they're behind in kills. Their tempo is alot better than western teams.
@@HappyGick our players have shown multiple times that they have the hands to go toe-to-toe with the eastern players. It is mostly macro issues. We are up in kills but down in gold.
Huhi and Licorice looked really good this series
Y'know, it's cope AF to say this about a 0-3 game. But honestly that was better than i was expecting. They couldn't close out any games (Which duh, JDG is nuts), but they kept it competitive and fun to watch at least. I think they can come home proud enough of how they did. And honestly they're showing enough growth they may get a win on C9
Yeah, tbh the first 2 games made me think that GG was the best western team at the tournament but game 3 was just lost.

Nah, Licorice has been pretty open about how his confidence got shot after leaving C9. Up until they kicked him, they were hyping him up as the best top laner, and he felt the same but when he got kicked it hit him hard. He says he's been going to therapy for personal life things, but it's really been helping him with league as well.

I’m so surprised on NA performance especially in game 2. But it just seems not quiet there yet. It’s a bit frustrating even.
This turned out more competitive than I expected. It’s a shame that GG couldn’t close out game 2. But overall, GG did a good job.
Hugo and licorice played really well, wish the team did the same.
I think GGS straight up did better than C9, and they had a tougher team to play. That said, I do think that c9 will beat GGS in losers, just because of nerves.

Look, for all the fumbles this series, you have to give props to River for picking Rengar into Khazix just to give us that lore matchup.
I have to be honest, I never was really SUPER into professional LoL, but its because of people like you, people who show a huge amount of passion and hype and enjoyment towards it, that I actually started watching more of these games live, and get almost as exited as you do.

They need to get better in order to be more competitive with the east. It’s funny that they haven’t even established or found a way to improve over these years. Just proves how bad the coaches are at doing their jobs. It makes me really think about how much western coaches study eastern teams and their macro or decision making while leading and from behind.
I also really liked the Sion switchup in draft to bait the Gwen top- feels like western teams should do more switchups/curveballs like this to win against the East (we will never win a straight up fight)

@@Kai_soze Because western teams have been trying to copy eastern teams for so long (which I hate), they don't know how to hit curveballs. But this also means eastern teams probably don't know how the curveballs actually look like. So when western teams finally learn to hit curveballs, eastern teams will be taken by surprise, and the West can at last win. Western teams need unpredictable drafts and easy-to-execute plays. They need to stop hands checking eastern teams.
@@HappyGick while this is true one of the only ways to beat the best eastern teams is to out hands them. When LPL had that period where they finally beat LCK teams, it was due to out teamfighting and skirmishing them.
It just sucks because the gap seems wider than ever. I remember back in s4 LPL, EU, NA all seemed pretty even with each other while LCK was clearly dominant. LPL finally started improving while EU had its stint in the world finals while NA has just gotten worse and worse.

So frustrating to watch game 2 as a NA fan. Big Dicorice and Huhi played really well, the team was just heavily outclassed. I'm really hoping this team wins against C9 so the hopium lives a little longer. A rematch vs BLG would go crazy, tho it probably won't happen since it's NA vs T1 or GENG.

the west is honestly not quite as bad as the record makes you think..they have players that played a very competitive series, they just don't have a team that can compete - too few talents - there's always one person on the team who just isn't up to the task - for GG its river, for G2 it was caps and usually is BB, for C9 its Zven and maybe fudge, for MAD its nisqy - switch them out for their lane opponents and the result is way different
River and Gori looked really nervous on cams. I'm hoping they can shake the nerves and get a chance to show off what they can do

Can anyone explain Caedral thoughts on Game 1 bans? In my eyes, with Aph, Naut and Sej locked in, GGS are pretty much committing to an engage comp. Renata and Lulu are both supp champs that are good at peeling off engages, aren't they? I don't quite get why it was such a ban decision from GGS.
Simply he knew and always said any team with Ruler will invest everything on him so playing weak side on laning phase against Ruler was a free pass for him since it means Free Farm , plus the Braum pick was full counter for Hard Engage just like how GG will only catch Jinx when Braum not around

in EU people who aren't supposed to win ends up winning (ex: BDS shoudlve won and crap lions stayed home), but NA has teams that produce a more consistent result kind of (ex: Cloud9 always been good and GG was actually solid throughout the split)

It is true that mad got good team fights throughout but their macro isnt great, and they never outperform internationally when theyre behind. Id argue that other teams wouldnt have lost in 17 mins, maybe yes a 3-0 would still happen but imo wouldn't have lost so bad :/

They should have punish east team gameplay , east always play slow and steady while the west always invest everything on early phase , west wont hesitate to burn flash and ult from multiple person for a single kill and made a lead , east was way better after the laning phase their peel on their AD and the confidence was huge huge huge diff than the west

Every game Ruler has a protective Support with shields, and you see no other team play Aphelios without prioritizing Lulu, except for GG. Because GG needs Huhi on engage champs--Nautilus, Rell, Thresh, Sett, Amumu--which means poor Stixxay has to fend for himself in every fight, and YET against Ruler and Missing, Stixxay played extremely well anyway.

That’s just LPL playstyle. LPL teams give up a lot of kills, I mean a lot. They will die randomly for being greedy. LCK teams are much much more clean and surgical with their wins. It’s a preference but LPL playstyle is more entertaining but LCK wins are just so smooth, stable and surgical.
Yeah they didnt win a game, but can we take a second to respect GG's drafts? They are generally pretty good, unique, and fun to watch. Hats off to the coaching staff.
