To be honest i clicked on this video thinking Oh well lets see what this dude can do... all i can say is you totally rock! i camo painted a couple of trucks before with pretty good results but this blew me away! so simple yet looks excellent! thank you bro!
mac163 thanks! I have been painting stuff camouflage since I was 10. This method has been the easiest as well as having the best results. I'm glad you liked it.
Not one bad comment which really proves the point that this guy is a true benefit to society and happy to share his knowledge or a whole lot of people just have bad taste and I don't believe the latter part because he has proven himself as a modern day Rembrandt via box body Chevy. It's a masterpiece! Kudos!
looks good Man... I did my 65 Chevy truck this method around 15 yrs ago and still looks good... I power washed first... let dry for a day or so... do 1st base coat ... let dry a couple days... power washed again an try to remove loose paint... then do the grass, leave, till it looks right... I used olive/black/brown/tan on base coat and grass & leaves too...
Thanks for the video. I bought an old Ranger a few years back that someone did spray camp on. Looks like they did it freehand. So, I've been thinking about redoing it ever since. What you've done with 2 colors and 40 bucks looks 10 times better than what was on my truck when I bought it. Thanks for the ideas man.
If you want a modern camo aka digital camouflage pattern, here's what you do: 1. ALWAYS SEAL OFF ANY PARTS THAT YOU DONT WAT TO GET PAINTED!!!!!! 2. Apply base paint (olive green f. ex) 3. Print camo pattern that you want into papers, cut away the non-olive colors. 4. glue (with thin non-permanent glue) the camo pattern to the part that you want to paint, make sure edges are sharp and sealed. 5. Paint with the paint that fits the camo pattern (black, for example) 6 Print the camo pattern again, cut away all parts that are not olive or black Repeat from Step 4, cahnging the colors. Repeat until preferred camo is archived. Seal the paint off with car varnish/ex product. Dont leave the paint without seal! Always remember that dominant color covers 50% of the car! 2 other colors cover 25/25%! If you're serious you can use Magnetic Sheets that you have cut into pieces for better finish
I painted the top of my pickup cab with 2 base coats of straight green with the Krylon Camo paint 2 years ago as a test. 2 hard winters and 2 hot summers, it looks like I painted it yesterday. Highly recommended. I did not use a clear coat either. Good stuff.
I should have warned people that may happen. Also, it does not work on ex wives or girlfriends. It normally does the opposite. So don't spray paint people.
About to do my Toyota yaris. I did my 1984 suburban flat black with big hot-rod style flames from the front of the hood and fenders back to the front doors. It was our "mini-van" and my wife drove the kids to play group in it. The kids voted for the flames. I gave them the choice of black and white zebra or safari style paint, but the 3 boys wanted flames! Kids eh? I never thought of using plant stems like that so this will sort of satisfy my, I mean my kids inner craving for a safari-ish kind of look!! Truck looks great too! I was hauling wood in the trunk of my yaris but a truck would have been better!! I like your just do it attitude!! The world needs more people like you!
Thanks for all the kind words and support and glad you enjoyed the video.. With this technique kids can have a go at it too, and if they do a crap job its easy to fix. haha.
Sweet! Thanks so much! Me & my dad are working on a 20 year old Yamaha motorcycle the paint jobs all faded out and looks horrible we are gonna paint it camo (dark green, matt green & black) and this video just helped us heps! we got it for free and it runs & all it needs is a sick ass paint job ✌️
That's a great paint job. Brilliant! Love your confidence and enthusiasm. I have a Suzuki Grand Vitara SUV that is going to become a festival / weekend camper project. This is the paint work I'm going to finish with. Greetings from Britain.
I use a simular technique on my gear and found that a light grey base with first layer of tan switch grass then a second layer of brown switch grass comes out good. Nice job.
Stunning end result, man!!! ...Although I agree with Ben Chute on using "just spray rattle cans" as a green matt base for the whole truck, the overall look is really cool!
Great video! I want to do my truck cap in pink camo and your idea of using ferns (we have an abundance year round here in the Northwest) is a super idea! Learned alot! Thanks, Dude!
If you want get some cool patterns go to wal mart and buy some plastic plants and you can use them longer than live plants . They have them for a couple bucks per bundle. i used them on my boat and it turned out great. Good job on the truck.
Hey Mike, Great paint job on you're truck it looks awesome. I personally would have avoided black because it's a color that's rarely found in nature but that's just my opinion still looks great though. Anyway I have a great idea for a future paint job the next time you paint one of you're vehicles you should do it in a Rhodesian pattern. I painted my FN FAL in the pattern I used krylon dark forest green, earth tone brown, and coyote tan and I made brushstroke stencils out cardstock from a cereal box, the pattern looks wicked. You should give it a try it's definitely something to think about.
Wow that paint job is awesome and you make it look so easy. I am doing a charity run across Europe next year and need to theme my wreck of a 70's MGB and I think I will pinch your idea for my paint job. Thanks Man.
Outstanding!!! I JUST today suggested we camo up an old pickemup truck we're going to sell and got some funny look from my Sweetie, but he's 70 and I'm 67 and I'm on the way to buy the spray cans! I already have some ideas for a little extra jazz and a little bigger pricetag.
Hay Mike , I Camouflage'd my Dad's truck as a Father's Day Surprise . And BOY ' O ' BOY was he Surprised . You know what else they use that Switch Grass for Mike ? Well , now I do . It worked perfect to , real defined all along my back and legs , shoulders , And that camo Shore makes it so no one can see you . Cause I can't come out of my room for the next six weeks . Well gotta go Mike , Time for my Ointment . See you around .
I camo painted my ice chest and put it out on the edge of the woods when camping. My buds never found where I was gettin my beers from the entire weekend! Ha ha ha.
A tank compressor from harbor freight...you should already have one for tons of other projects. Respirator 3M VOC. 80 grit sandpaper. 3" tape and cardboard from refrigerator and other large items. 3 colors of paint shoot through your spray gun hooked up to the compressor. Better quality, thicker paint..more efficient and actually cheaper.
I've used those in the past. I use them for some applications but on camo I like the control from my good old trigger finger. for the base coat i definitely can see and have used those. But thanks again for the suggestion. keep on camoflagein!
mycoolkeno, I haven't either lol. Although my friend did by a Chevy Silverado with the RealTree stick on stuff. You know those things that you can customize your truck, runs down the side of truck from front to back including rocker panels. I showed him your video and he wants to do his truck the same way. I was thinking of doing that stick on thing to my truck, but might do what you did, but where that stick on stuff would have went. It's gonna be a money safer.
I like the weed work. Try starting out with brown as a base color and nix the black all together since it doesn't exsist in nature. Try Grey or Brown or mixing both. Good job, I really liked it.
Yes I have. I do prefer to keep it to green and black usually. I used to use multiple colors but it usually got too busy. Sometimes ill use flat black and gloss black to add depth and shadows. Smaller objects are easier to get away with more complex designs on. Vehicles I tend to keep it simple. Glad you liked the video.
ya i color corrected a lot. A gray day isn't necessarily a bad thing, but i had corey shooting on auto settings and it always blows out the sky. wish i had time to film it myself and set all the exposures, but figured i didn't hafta get to crazy about it since its just a how to video.
i found a truck on craigslist that looks EXACTLY like this one, same year, same style paint job, same everything. even down to the tires lol. and its 1000 bucks too! i thought it was this one at first but the other ones paint job is a bit different
(sorry for the late reply.) It was near Atlanta georgia, it wasn't this exact truck (i don't think) but it was extremely close... too close.. if you parked them side by side you could hardly tell the difference..
Great job if i had a grandkid i wish i had one resourcfull and talented like you great job! P.s. Dont forget to do the rims and get some headlight covers as well as tail light covers and any other lightcovers.
This actually isn't a bad spray paint job. It's actually the only one I have seen that I didn't mind too much. Good job man.
"probably worth about 15 grand now" funniest part of video! great vid though!
Now days that truck would go for 15k 😂
I camo painted my truck once, went hunting...couldn't find my truck for hours.
I have mine trained to start up when I whistle.
LOL LOL
MIKEL0352 hahaha almost piss my self
hahahahaha
lol!
Looks bad ass!!! I did that to my 86 4runner! I get compliments all the time!
To be honest i clicked on this video thinking Oh well lets see what this dude can do... all i can say is you totally rock! i camo painted a couple of trucks before with pretty good results but this blew me away! so simple yet looks excellent! thank you bro!

Does what it says on the tin.
These are fun vehicles and this young guy is having fun.
Vastly improved for very little money, BRAVO.

Appreciate that man! I try to keep the comments positive!
I was trying to figure out how to camouflage paint my ATV. This was very good and gave me some great ideas. Thank you so much. Awesome video!

Tom H you're welcome. Glad you like the video and good luck. Sometimes less is more .I used to use multiple colors but found two works best.
You're my kind if people man
Cool paint job. Been there, done that. From $1k to $15k in a few hours...lol. That's what I'm talkin'
'bout!

Looks like Bob Ross discovered the rattle can. Great video!

That's a great paint job. Brilliant! Love your confidence and enthusiasm. I have a Suzuki Grand Vitara SUV that is going to become a festival / weekend camper project. This is the paint work I'm going to finish with. Greetings from Britain.
Good stuff and thanks. I did a geo tracker " vitara's cooler cousin" turned out nice. Hope it turns out nice!
I use a simular technique on my gear and found that a light grey base with first layer of tan switch grass then a second layer of brown switch grass comes out good. Nice job.

Great camo! thanks for the ideas. Keep up making more camo videos.

Great paint job! Looks very good.
Everything looks good on a chevy, good job sir. I am getting ready to do this to my camper
Woow....I LIKED THAT !! LOOKS NICE TO ME.....👍👍👍👍
How have I not seen this before, great job.
Haha that's funny looks like a great truck even better with the camo paint job
I sold a truck like that for $1500 a few years ago. It was jam up running like a sewing machine too. He got a good deal for sure...
15k? you're being generous, thats a 25k truck all day now lol
Since73 it is rusty

Actually black looks natural because it represents shadowing
i gotta say, that looks surprisingly good. nice job dude.
Fuckin right man looks sick, good job
Actually, love it!!!
I'm camo a 86 ford f-250. It starting to look good. I have camo before.yes your base color is the key.this time I used black as my base coat.
Damn I'm not going to lie that looks pretty good
Wow that paint job is awesome and you make it look so easy. I am doing a charity run across Europe next year and need to theme my wreck of a 70's MGB and I think I will pinch your idea for my paint job. Thanks Man.
Mike, just a top notch video. Can't wait to try it on an old golf cart used at the farm. Thanks
Eva Wild Awesome and thank you. Can't go wrong with some extra jazz! Best of luck.
Lol , my tracker is getting this for sure. Good job
I did a 95 tracker in it a few yeas back.Should of been an option from the factory.
My boy was ahead of his time with the trucker hat.
Mike --Dude you'd be crazy to sell that truck for 15K -it'll bring 20-25K with that camo job !
"First off, it was premium gas" hahahaha that one got me going xD
i was having some fun there. haha
Hay Mike , I Camouflage'd my Dad's truck as a Father's Day Surprise .
And BOY ' O ' BOY was he Surprised .
You know what else they use that Switch Grass for Mike ?
Well , now I do . It worked perfect to , real defined all along my back and legs , shoulders ,
And that camo Shore makes it so no one can see you . Cause I can't come out of my room for the next six weeks . Well gotta go Mike , Time for my Ointment .
See you around .
When you said "maybe another plants starting to wrap around" I thought of Bob Ross's old painting videos my grandma watched. Killed me lol
He is my muse.
The fact he is painting with a mask makes it much better
Thanks for the tips. I want to paint my truck winter camo. I live in the city and it should be good to turn a few heads.
Nice dude, looks sick!
Just did it on my 4runner.
this man is the bob ross of camo shit
I'm going to do this to my 1985 f150 it's going to be awesome I already tested it out on a few cardboard peices. EASY TO DO
I camo painted my ice chest and put it out on the edge of the woods when camping. My buds never found where I was gettin my beers from the entire weekend! Ha ha ha.
To cut down on the 'sore finger' you could use a spray can trigger handle for about 3 bucks.
Nice video man. Thinking of doin a camo job for my truck.
You the best my hat's off to you..
Thanks for your kind words friend.
I like it. Looks sick
looking good on the truck buddy
looks cool. i may paint my jeep like that!
Looks good on jeeps too man. I got one of them too. I like just the olive green on those the best.

muy bueno tu video. gracias por compartir tus conocimientos
¡Gracias! ¡Feliz de compartir!
Man that's really good 💯

I have all that stuff and have gone that route. This way of going about it was more geared towards drug addicts that pawned all that stuff.
I've used those in the past. I use them for some applications but on camo I like the control from my good old trigger finger. for the base coat i definitely can see and have used those. But thanks again for the suggestion. keep on camoflagein!
Really cool
Absolutely well done mate ! ... enjoyed and learned ! ... From Australia !
If you were drafted into the army like me you would never want to see that color again.
Nice good video. Been Arizona pin stripping my truck so not a bad idea
I think the grass area under the truck came out the best!!
Diddnt see the rust until it was olive... now that's what I call camouflage
How about a desert camo version? I'd love one of that
Your truck actually looks pretty good man. It's no RealTree but I like it.
Thanks! I'm not aware of Chevy ever making their trucks from real trees though.
mycoolkeno, I haven't either lol. Although my friend did by a Chevy Silverado with the RealTree stick on stuff. You know those things that you can customize your truck, runs down the side of truck from front to back including rocker panels. I showed him your video and he wants to do his truck the same way. I use the rustolium personally. looks good bud.
You're so good at making entertaining videos you should go into the business. Really good job.
Truck looks cool dude.. sweet job.
If you fixed the rust damage then it would be worth your estimated price
Good job
@TheBrandonhutto thanks man. the truck did alot of the work too. gotta love them old chevys. haha.
looks great, but I would have fixed the rust first
weight reduction
He fixed it, through some paint on it! Ha ha...why that adds character to the truck!
I like the weed work. Try starting out with brown as a base color and nix the black all together since it doesn't exsist in nature. Try Grey or Brown or mixing both. Good job, I really liked it.
Did you do anything to the chrome before you painted over it, or did you just spray over it?
Well done brother!!!
Hi Mike, good Job best regards from Bavaria
Thank you Stefan!
GREAT job
have you tried other colors like dark brown, black and base of green? your paint job is pretty wicked! love it
Yes I have. I do prefer to keep it to green and black usually. I used to use multiple colors but it usually got too busy. Sometimes ill use flat black and gloss black to add depth and shadows. Smaller objects are easier to get away with more complex designs on. Vehicles I tend to keep it simple. Glad you liked the video.
this guy could star in some american iddiotic comedy without even changing his style:))
Thank you for your kind words!
I like this vid
if those tires are BFGOODRICH mud TA 325 60 15, where did you buy them? Thanks in advance.
they were 32 inch bf's. i bought them off a crackhead that wrecked his suburban. Not sure if he has any more or if he's still alive.
Dude....excellent. Very simple. Inexpensive. Cool
Planning on doing that to my 94 dodge dakoter, since wrap is worth 3x my truck.
Not bad them old Chevy do look good n olive drab n camo
All you need is a bed-mounted MLRS and youre good. 👍
ya i color corrected a lot. A gray day isn't necessarily a bad thing, but i had corey shooting on auto settings and it always blows out the sky. wish i had time to film it myself and set all the exposures, but figured i didn't hafta get to crazy about it since its just a how to video.

(sorry for the late reply.) It was near Atlanta georgia, it wasn't this exact truck (i don't think) but it was extremely close... too close.. if you parked them side by side you could hardly tell the difference..

dude that looks awesome! nice work
