It’s only “unique” to those that grew up listening to trap. The Griselda sound is an extension of early production from RZA, Havoc, DJ Muggs, & Roc Marci. If you don’t know them you got a lot to learn.
Thank you for this comment.... Can't stand people who think Griselda's style is actually something new or different... Don't get me wrong. I like them, but they're more of a breath of fresh air for those of us who grew up on that '90s grimey boom bap sound...
Map you’re saying it’s an extension of early production boom bap… that’s why it’s called modern boom bap lol
can't forget about The 4th Disciple. That dude has some og the illest beats from the 90s.
So true. Its only unique in this time and space. Its good they call it unique tho because I see this type of hip hop making a big return.
@@Cpsteg this type of Hip-Hop never went away? Y’all just ain’t gonna find it in the mainstream
So old it became new again. However you wanna look at it, I’m glad people are feeling it in 2023.
Griselda’s sound is a reimagining, fresh take on early boom bap. One can clearly see there is a difference in production techniques. They did not just put buffalo on the map they made buffalo a force to be reckoned with.
I've had that Bob James Nautilus sample in my samples folder for like 3 years. I even made a beat with it that I never finished. Sounded a whole lot like this one except, well, obviously yours is more polished and finished than mine. Nice work.
God damn bro you are insanely talented and criminally underrated
@@KavanDignamthe first one fs, the second one, imo, is not very fitting for a boombap style song and more reserved for trap. Still fire tho
Another great video luv the editing
ayooooo how u pimped the bob james loop was next level my friend! big ups!!!
nautalist gotta be one of the most well known and dope samples of all time, so proud to have it on vinyl
this is great work
dope, thank you !
You did again. Crazy amazingness
@@KavanDignam You're too great to resonate with just 1 over the other
I used that second sample in a beatbi made like ten years ago.... Trippy bro. It was like in a reason refill
i really love your videos
YOU KILLED THIS
@@KavanDignam They both slapped, but that 2nd one is just nasty as fuck fr. Would've thought you were being sponsored by Griselda with this level of quality. I'm calling a million subs by the end of 2024 if not sooner. This channel is a gem fr.
I sampled the same bob james song. Really hits that dark griselda vibe.
make this shit look too easy dawg. killin it!
That Nautilus sample is the hottest ever right after the Amen Break.
That tracklib was on a maxo kream song that's wild 💀
That Bob James sample's been sampled a billion times throughout the years. Most notably on Ghostface Killah's Iron Man album.
cheers
🔥🔥🔥
is there a full version of the first original beat?
You should try making a worldcorp beat they are so interesting but very simple
HEY KAVAN CAN YOU MAKE MORE FLIPPING SAMPLES TUTORIALS NEXT I NEED TO LEARN HOW TO DO THAT LIKE METRO BOOMIN AND KANYE WEST DOES
I'm flipping sure he flipping will when he has flipping time. You don't have to flipping swear at him!
;P
I bet he can but you know there's already hundreds of tutorials on this and even Kavan probably made one already
Yooo where can i find the full second beat? Its crazy
Beat 2 sample = Freddie Gibbs and Black Thought - Extradite
What's the Tempos of the two songs also what's the best tempos for boom bap
The sample can be moved slightly off sync to create that perfect sound outplacement
Pitch your snares down to stretch the sample out then resample it and pitch it back.
That first joint was produced by Tyler
Your dark loop from track lib sounds like pitch shifted Bob James nautilus intro
Im not really a fan of westside gunn but i love the boom bap technique
kav you are a bit of a genius fam. would love for you to try to produce for my artist. he is blowing up
Hard hip hop beats
Bro pls teach us how to analyse songs bro i also as wanna learn from those who I admire
You analyze it by listening to the different parts that make the whole, there’s no magic trick.
NEXT VIDEO TUTORIAL
Can you make how Tay Keith becomes a super producer
Griselda is the goat 🔥🔥🔥
Bro let's work man 😂 ure to sick
bruh you made a maxo kream beat
Denny Laflare is the goat of westside’s production, conductor is also insane. I’d put them both above daringer personally, but daringer is still sick
@@user-do2xr9gv8k idk man… look at his placements now compared to when they started….
I can tell you're semi new to the Griselda wave haha. Nothing wrong with that, but understand there's a lot you missed in the early Griselda days before you start making these left field conclusions. @@lubbers825
make a frank ocean video plsss
pray for paris then you pray for me
-City, Sos, & Me
Mobb deep Havoc sound every producer on Griselda records are heavily inspired by mobb deep sound and that grime sound is mobb deep
that beat is fire
but too most of the beats griselda are more simple tbh
Unique Production????? erm,,, maybe to someone who didn't live threw the Golden era of Hip Hop,, Pete Rock, DITC, large Pro, Premier, ATCQ, Beatnuts, Rza, Edan , Kool Keith , Madlib, MF DOOM, plus many many more artists, so lets not kid ourselves here this is not a new sound at all or new production technics especially with the unquantized loops or beats thats old news, it maybe new to people who haven't heard it before. But its great its come back and is making headlines. I love Boom Bap keep it up.
Post the beats
I think the first beat would’ve sounded better without the drums. Still sick but sometimes Griselda go with those no-drum or quiet-drum beats
Boom Bap forever, I don't put out much outside of 92-95, after 95 the breadth of the beats got too minimal and slightly depressing.
I wouldn't call it unique. If you hang out in Jamaican neighbourhoods in Toronto, Buffalo, Syracuse, New Jersey, NYC: it's been the prevalent sound for 30 years. Griselda just bringin' it to the world this time.
nasty beat
Lowkey criminal to make a video about "the griselda sound" and not even mention Daringer. You need to listen to more of the 2014-18 era to truly dive into the "griselda sound."
I'm not mad about it lol its a free country dude, you can do whatever you want. I'm just pointing out that If you want to actually "understand Griseldas unique production" you have a lot of homework to do.@@KavanDignam
J.Dilla (R.I.P) was the first rapper and producer who created boom bap
Rip dilla but he wasn't even specifically a boom bap producer, let alone the first
Too many copy cats out there
Undoubtedly Griselda is just awful, you want actual good lyrical rap that is new then listen to Earl Sweatshirt, Mike, Pink Siifu, Valee
2:26 classic sample.

"Love the vid.
Idk if you knew this about hip hop.. especially old school hip hop.
Nearly NONE of the people making beats, KNEW how to make beats. they had zero formal music education..
They just got hold of a drum pad and messed around with it until they figured it out.
They didnt use a DAW, they used a drum pad, with samples...
Now, THAT is how you get the real feel. Your beat, albeit is not bad, it doesnt sound "real"
If you want that real sound. you have to physically tap the beat..
Because your time wont be robot perfect, so itll sound natural. Try it and tell me im wrong.
If you have a quiet keyboard, you can use keybinds with your DAW, to use your keyboard as a drum pad as well."
