- Rare clip of Bob Dorough and Jack Sheldon (the original composer and singer of "Conjunction Junction") performing live on the KTLA Morning Show back in the mid 90's. You can see myself and my friend Jennie Korneychuk behind the scenes on the cutaway shot.

I always wondered what he looked like. I pictured him as a black man based on his rich, mellifluous voice.
I imagined him skinnier.
David Brooks me too
Me too! Crazy!
Me too!
Could have seen him on an episode of petticoat Junction
Two great talents. And they're both gone now. RIP Jack Sheldon and Bob Dorough.
Yes. They're not just performers, they're also teachers.
Me the 69th like
Nice
Jazz trumpeter and singer Jack Sheldon, who sang "Conjunction Junction" on "Schoolhouse Rock," died on 27 December 2019, age 88. A fantastic Talent. R.I.P. sir
Jack was on the 1999-08-06 show of the Phil Hendrie Show with "Phil Sings the blues" - something totally different than what he usually did on his show, satire.
I think Phil was getting a little upset at Jack because Jack was telling jokes between songs the whole show. One of his jokes was: "Sex and drugs killed my father. He couldn't get either of them so he shot himself."
@@nirv Phil Hendrie radio legend!!
DARN!

Three legends in this vid who made childhood that more awesome. Thank you Bob Dorough and Jack Sheldon for making learning fun and thank you Van Partible for being apart of Cartoon Network's golden age. HU HUH. Everybody do the monkey
Thanks for the great Saturdays. 40+ years later and I still love those tunes.
There were many a mixingbowl full of fruity pebbles and early morning Saturdays.
Thank you for my childhood.
Schoolhouse rock 50th anniversary with various artists singing them Feb 1st 2023 8 p.m. on ABC
I’ve only heard Rob Cantor’s cover of this, wasn’t expecting the original to be just as good, if not better ❤
Lmfao man, he fooled the hell out of me 😂 I thought this was a brotha the whole time
Me too😮
My childhood right here.
I learned more from school house rock than elementary school. Still love this.. absolute nostalgia, happiest times of my childhood
I seriously faked my way through school based on schoolhouse rock.
I looked for this song bc it reminds me of a video back in third grade lmao it was stuck in my head, here I am now about to graduate in finance next yr lol time fucking flies
It was one of those political cartoon videos they show in school😭
The only problem with this video is that it’s too short. Could listen to it for hours.
R.I.P. Jack Sheldon!
And Bob Dorough
I grew up on Conjunction Junction. School- house Rock. Great voices from my childhood bringing up good memories! Thank you!
He appeared on Dragnet a few times. Once, he owned a bowling alley, another time he was Gannon’s neighbor who worked as a systems analyst, and he also played a witness to the arrest of a co-worker who was charging the arresting officer with assault.
RIP To these two legends
World's Greatest Jazz- Pop Song ever made, and all we get is 1 funky Ass- min, Hello this is a 3 Min song!!
He does look like the train conductor in the video. Hindsight is 20/20
That man has a super awesome voice....! We loved those USA Cartoon Interludes up in Canada on a cold snowy Saturday morning after hockey.
I remember Jack Sheldon on the Merv Griffin show. Talented musician
So awesome! I swear to Goddess that my SAT score in 1977 (and the subsequent scholarships) owes so much to Schoolhouse Rock!
Jack Sheldon and Bob Dorough had once-in-a-lifetime voices that were practically made for Schoolhouse Rock!. Though their voices might be silenced, they will live on in our memories.
RIP my brother.. and thank you! :*-)
Who's your brother?
HELL YEAH!
Why must the most talented singers die so old? Why?😥😭😟
This is a true gem…belongs in what should be the greatest public library in the world…CZcams…but not with commercials and false promises that we can earn money sharing things we find and make ourselves. Seriously, why can’t the owners get paid for their work? People that share should not be punished by lawsuits that steal their homes because schools didn’t teach them copyright law.
Bob Dorough and Jack Sheldon was the greatest singing duo of Schoolhouse Rock.
They'll always be my favorite singers of all time.
literally got myself nostalgia goosebumps.
Now I know where they got their inspiration for the cartoon train conductor 😁🚂🤎
Classic. School house Rock memorables!!🤩🤩🤩
I love this!!!
RIP dude. 🥀
Love this song.

I just learned that the singer of this song, was a regular character actor on Dragnet, my OTHER favorite show.
Is there a full video of then singing it live
Where is the full performance. Really disappointed for it to cut one third of the way through
Jack Sheldon! So smooth...so nice! Where, oh where to see this live performance in its entirety?!?
Thank you!
When are we gonna get any footage of Sheldon doing I’m just a Bill live
Jack Sheldon the man the legend RIP
Who else is here after watching “Norfolk Southern What’s Your Function?”
I definitely thought he was a black man. Damn this brings back childhood memories. These kids today will never know. RIP
I hate that it ended 💌
He looks just like the cartoon conductor!
Rest In Peace.
I would have loved to have heard Jack Sheldon sing a cover of "Misry & Blues" by Jack Teagarden.
Rip Jack Sheldon
Is the whole clip available??
They should have given him a chorus on trumpet.
12/21/2020 😂😭😂😭😂😭😂
Yep. Tonight after sunset look southwest. If you have a telescope, you can see the atmospheric bands of jupiter.
So you're laughing hysterically then crying then laughing hysterically? I wonder if people even look at the expression before they use those dumb emojis.
I didn't know you were behind the scenes. If you're not joking, what mid 90s was that?
Sounds like a hard core blues guy.
I really thought Nipsy Russell sang this AND I’m Just A Bill!
Holy hell he's literally Mr. Morton
The guy who wrote all of these songs is a cousin of Howie from the BackStreet Boys
This what I thought he looked like
I Always thought it was Ray Charles singing this!
North folk Southern be like Hippolytus Hopity this song is now my property
I wish he wore the hat.

Origin of a Norfolk Southern, What’s Your Function?
I'm now 59 years old. I just find out now 50 years later that singer Jack Sheldon was a white dude. lol 😂
I told my friends back in the 90's that he was a white guy, and they didn't believe me
DUDE BEHIND HIM FRICKIN’ RUNIED IT !
Dude behind him wrote the song
poor man's randy newman
Left foot.. right foot.. left foot.. right foot
Not me thinking they were black. 😂
He’s white!!!??
I don't know why I thought he was a black guy
I'd of never guessed this was a white guy
I always thought he was black.
I didn’t know Joe Biden played the keyboard?!
That was Joe Biden?
Omg I thought a blacks person sang this my whole life😂😂😂
Dude on the keyboard is screwing it up… It’s like he is trying to sing out of sync and it’s not good. He should shut his mouth and stick to playing the keyboard…
