Never thought I would say this but Korg has kinda caught my attention that's as close as I've ever heard anything that can even challenge a Yamaha. With Yamaha quality and Korg be damn near similar is kinda scary. And the Korg doesn't have mega voices but my god the guitar on that thing is wonderful. It seems more depth...but nothing can beat a Yamaha mega voice... Now I've used both Yamaha and Korg....Korg for bass and Yamaha for main lead voices grand and electric piano and let me say the two together with certain voices is just an unholy sight if you know how to do it right!!! But alright Korg! But I still love Yamaha even though my first keyboard was a Casio

The "battle" is between Korg and Yamaha. Both are great instruments, sounds styles etc, but if Technics would still produce KN series - in my opinion Yamaha and Korg will stay far away.
I bought Korg because of many reasons beside great sounds and easy of use ( touchscreen, ribbon controller ... and nice finish ) and it looks sexi - not plastic!

@Xeraser the reason exactly that Yamaha use low quality compressed wavforms so when you listen to sounds in solo mode it will be ok but after mixing , it will be muddy weak disappointment song .. and sure you'll not note this in youtube demos , anyway i think Yamaha made better quality in new Montage keyboard compared to Tyros series

    • @whisperdancer
      @whisperdancer Před 3 lety

@@MegaVoiceTube Lol. You must mean the opposite. The yamaha sounds so good in solo playing due to the high quality waveforms. Sometimes they need to be tamed down to sound good in a mix. Actually, I find the more basic sounds blend better in a style than super articulation or more elaborated voices.

    Ambos son excelentes teclados.

  • @SLK-Estudio
    @SLK-Estudio Před 8 lety +20

Here are many experts who have given their valued comments and I have learnt many things from them. But in my humble opinion, I think besides sound there is another aspect which is very important to me and that is the ease of use. Which one starts to perform out of the box? That is also important to me. I have heard that Korg has to be finely tuned to make it sound natural. But I don't know that about Yamaha because in any of these comparison videos, nobody highlighted that. If anybody can put some light on this aspect, I will be grateful. And soundwise, both have their ups and downs I think. Thank you all and thanks to the video maker for this excellent video.

This video proved something very interesting to me. I have 3 friends who I would consider loyalist. They all stand by Korg or Yamaha. They have biases big time. I played this without showing the video portion. All 3 picked the opposite one. I tried this on a larger scale with the sound order mixed up, 128 people total. The results were as one might expect, some preferred the sounds on one of them while they preferred other sounds on the other choice. Most were pretty close (within 10%), the biggest discrepancy came with the strings where there was a 82% to 18% discrepancy. I found a much better to compare wasn't by sounds but rather by features. When I showed the feature list and had them rated, there were many more definite responses and while the split was still relatively close, the features triggered make or break decisions in many people.

I don't know why, I always prefer the Korg power of sound. In this case articulations also have been really improved, giving the possibility to use a single sound for many espression techniques. I was a Korg pa3x owner And I sold it for a Tyros5. So I can give a very realistic opinion. Considering the Set List function, the MP3 in mp3 recording and the style from midi direct conversion, Korg pa4x represents a big temptation. However at the moment I' m not still so convinced to make a change from Tyros back to Pa4.

Not enough on straight piano. Too many sound hard, and if you tried a Bill Evans approach, you'd never get it. The pianos are designed to cut through the mix. Are the pianos on these adjustable to keep the harder brighter tones less available when you hit the keys harder, bur still get an increase in loudness?

My honest opinion it’s like comparing apples and oranges they both sound great there are a lot of things that the Yamaha sound terrible like it’s piano it’s absolutely awful does not sound like a piano at all. The Korg has more realistic Piano but as for brass instruments the Yamaha wins. I think Yamaha always had the best Woodwind and brass instruments for guitars and basses they both have a tire up because I like both of them for different genres of music it’s the same thing saying with synthesizer sounds pads and will eat apples and oranges. when it comes to the background rhythm arrangements I have to say that both of them to have their characteristics but my absolute favorite is the Korg because when you hit a major minor or seventh chord everything changes and everything is different plus you can manipulate the styles the way how you want it on the fly. Yamaha really has to work on that they cannot do it as flawlessly as Korg. another thing that the Korg can do is load samples and sound funds which gives it more of a broad library you can make your own sounds and you can also still sounds off of the Yamaha if you need to.

A keyboard is not only tones, is the set of its features and sounds, the sounds of the 2 two keyboards are compatible with a slight advantage for Korg, but when the subject is resources and schedules, there is that Yamaha is years light Korg, PA4x uam is the complete and professional workstation with everything what a professional musician needs in agulidade of material, programming and resources, if you had to give a note to the complete set of each keyboard would be Nora 9.5 for Korg and note 7 to the Tyros.

. . saludos.

Korg has overall better dynamic, or harder tone. Tyro sounds little soft to me. Why Tyro is more expensive?
In Styles...Tyro has more and sweet arrangements.

Guitar sounds was the killer test, however, Korg sounds dryer in all patches, which is not fair though, but liked the Yamaha more overall

I'm A big Yamaha fanboy, arranger keyboard wise, but gotta admit Korg has come a long Way since the first pa models. There are great sounds in both of these keyboards. I still prefere Yamaha, but thats a personal preference. The pa sounds more raw with some nice gritty sounds, where Yamaha has A much more polished sound. Definetly the closest any other brand has come to rival the 10+ years leadership in arrangerkeyboards of the Tyros series.

My opinion is that and is true 100%
Yamaha is sound warmer like korg
But you cant do with a yamaha what can do with a Korg...the interface from yamaha is very very hard...at Korg the interface is very simple and useful.

Almost every Korg's sound I heard here has much more air and sounds pretty much close to the live performance. Maybe it is very expensive but I think for every studio musician it's worth to pay.

Both majestic keyboards and my honest opinion is the player is biased towards the Korg and has the volume slightly raised and is more aggressive on the flute and accordion, so not a truly fair comparison. No right or wrong choice here - pays your money and take your pick

The reality is major performers use what ever suits them best. Go the artist page for either of these companies and you'd be very disappointed to learn that your favorite artist uses the "other" company's product.

Humberto Holanda got it right ...1 year ago (down in the list) ...a keyboard is much more than a few good sounds ... Korg has a whole lot of good sounds to offer ...and probably Tyros has more ...but ...
We need other features too ...
and they are all but missing in Tyros. Yamaha needs to wake up ....while they still can ... AND ...Yamaha needs to understand its users better ...and offer better service ...not just a rude cold shoulder ..which is what they tend to do.
