Were the pellets enters the barrel the barrel is very ruff and so danages the pellet so get an dremel tool in there with a small gringing tip and grind a but of a taper and polish the barrel so it does not damage the pellet.
That floating barrel does not work and that clamp does not support the barrel very well so order an second clamp or have one made to support the barrel about 50mm back from the pressure gauge.
Just these 2 mods inpproves the grouping by a lot .
A silincer quites it down a lot as well .
You are a great human being man, when i go down to my basement or to the range i just do it for myself to come down and have fun after a hard day. I have no words how much i respect your work helping people dealing with theyr unregulated airrifles.
Thank you and keep on making videos.
@Andreas Budischek Thanks a million for being so kind, I hope to keep making videos a while longer
@Andreas Budischek sorry seems like your last comment didn't come through I just saw up to the email part. tyrone8511@gmail.com if that is what you after
I think the tube on your PR900 is about 2x as big as the bandit but it is strikingly similar to the same consistency and accuracy as the bandit with the stormrider barrell in the chaser kit stock..I love shooting it that way and I like the. 22 chaser in the bandit gripstock. Looks better than the airbug in my opinion...I thought about the regulator for the bandit but I don't need it..if I get a stormrider anytime soon I might regulate it just to see how it goes but I wouldnt regulate a 50cm tube unless it was being used to shoot in competition. You're really doing an amazing job on your channel Tyrone and it is evidently clear that you have spent a good bit of time with the preparation and planning on all your videos, as well as your work on the graphs & visuals! Amazing shooting as well!!
@G Whitfield Thanks so much for your comments and kind words. It really does take a lot of work and time to get the videos and editing done but I guess it makes for better viewing. I hope it was informative enough
I couldn’t agree more!. Even with the standard Bandit barrel I’m seeing approximately the same results.
@@African-Budget-Pellet-Gunner absolutely informative!... and you have gotten better at your editing and your shooting but that goes without saying!.. I'm sure you can do even better off camera when you dont have as much to think about. But if you're like me, I'm mostly just having fun with them and like to show them and shoot them and see how they perform and get peoples comments about it and I mostly just stick to showing what I'm shooting and shooting at...I'm not as photogenic as You, Lou and the other Two!! Haha Denny Mckinsey and Travis at oh shoot...lol.yall are the only ones I make time for....I like others too, but I don't have them on speed dial like you 4 guys...and your the only one I am a Paetreon to because I don't think they have done that yet..not that I been able to find anyway..great content takes awhile and I know how much effort and time it takes graphing it out there for everyone! "Just Tops to your entire doings Mate"!! I've always wanted to talk with an accent like you...lol..
@Bob Andrews Thanks well that is a good thing, I like to see consistency that means the results are going to be more predictable
@G Whitfield I don't think I know Denny, which channel is that, if he is a good friend of yours I am sure I would like to check him out. Yes, my main goal is to share the sport/hobby and try do it in the most informative way, everyone likes something a little different out of the hobby. I never really think about the accent but cool that is more reason for you to come spend some time in South Africa
What can I say ?This is an excellent video for airgunners as well as any prospective pcp owner like me. Really want to see how it shoot when you pump it up to 170 bar next time. Thanks for your work Tyrone.👍👍
@K Lee it will probably start from 170B the next time I shoot, glad you enjoyed the video. When the budget allows it is worth the leap to PCP
@@African-Budget-Pellet-Gunner I’ll take your words for it ! 👊👍
I'm looking to try 150 on the regulator.
I think it would probably be a little high for pellets but if you want to try slugs they usually are around 160bar
Very good video. Paints a great picture. I did basically what you did with my .22 Bandit and found the sweet spot to be 180 - 125 Bar. To assure myself that I would have consistency over at least two magazines I chose to install a regulator. I set it to ~130 Bar and am happy as a clam with my results.
With the cold weather in the Wisconsin Klondike I can’t wait to get outside this Spring and see my results at 20 - 30 meters. 👍
@Bob Andrews I must be honest it is a little wierd getting used to these different weather situations, I am so lucky to have great weather almost year round
Right now, 5:00 AM CST, it is -5 degrees F outside. In my basement where I shoot it is 57 degrees F. I could turn up the heat in my basement but choose to conserve on the home heating bill!
Enjoy your balmy climate, your fortunate…👍
Looked like a beautiful day where you are! I’m really enjoying your videos Tyrone. Looks like a great rifle.
@Oh Shoot Thanks for your comment, glad you're enjoying the videos. Happy shooting Travis
Fantastic video as usual!
@zerlgi Thanks so much and Thanks for your support
Hard to not be jealous watching you shoot this beauty in this weather 😅
I need to shovel the foot of snow that fell last night I will finish the video later (and edit or comment again 😁) ✌️
@Lowkey ENT if I was there I would give you a hand and then we could shoot together
@@African-Budget-Pellet-Gunner sounds like a plan but I think it would be better if I was there 🤣
no dumb laws,no snow and it would not be -10°celcius on a hot day 😁
That is true in the heart of winter where I live is min 5°C with daytime temps around 25°C
@@African-Budget-Pellet-Gunner Dammit that is just a very cold summer night out here (5°c) 😅 25°c sounds like a nice summer day to me 🤣
@Lowkey ENT yeah we are very fortunate with our weather and summer lasts about 9months so yeah. Summer temps usually are between 35°C and 40°C
if you got a bottle fitted with a external regulator(like huma sells) ,you could keep the gun at the bottle and find the excact reg pressure. Before fitting a internal regulator
Some of the exclusive hunting rifles work this way, they are shooting ling ranges with slugs but they are tethered to a regulated bottle so the rifle itself isn't regulated but in effect it is because the bottle is regulated
Thanks very informative ans well explained.
Thanks Tyrone this is brilliant
@john man Thanks glad it was helpful
Edit: Ive once again watched the video and im sure its scope mounts, you have mounts for 11mm dovetail and the gun has 12mm dovetail.
Not sure what you have seen but these rifles come std. With 11mm dovetail. What makes you think it is 12mm?
@@African-Budget-Pellet-Gunner youtube removes links to a photo, i have the box with artemis pr900w and it says 12mm rail.
Oh ok, that is interesting. I always thought it was 11mm, Thanks for bringing it to my attention
Thanks for this! It seems that with no hammer spring adjustment (yet) it's almost easier to find (vs tune to) that 'sweet spot' with 'what you get OOB'. I really haven't adjusted/set my one regulated Gen 2 Diana Stormrider .22 without knowing what the OEM setup/spring likes best. Now I know how to find it. 😊
Playing with the hammer spring is the easiest way to adjust I find and can be fairly precise. I ha e the unregulated version and once I found the sweetspot it is very accurate
Sideways might be due to your scope mount.
Awesome video mate.
I made a more recent video on this as well which probably explains it a little better czcams.com/video/oP3VwSVWfn8/video.html
Huge difference in accuracy only by keeping it in the pressure sweet spot!
Have you ever tried the same test with a co2 airgun? (It gets cold so results may be different?)
I liked the crowd reference and graphs 😅 it really made me picture it in my head!
Really nice test and explanations!
@Lowkey ENT Thanks glad it made sense, well CO2 is a little different, because it is stored in a liquid form and only kind of changes to gas when needed it is almost self regulating around 850psi. You should see a pretty consistent shot string with co2 from shot 1 up to when the gas/liquid volume gets low
@@African-Budget-Pellet-Gunner oh I see !
So as long as you aint shooting too fast co2 is pretty consistent
Yes, pretty much I am looking to do a video soon with CP2 and PR900 side by side then you will see the shot spread of the CO2
@@African-Budget-Pellet-Gunner Sounds good I will look at it for sure!
Вітаю! Яка буде найкраща пуля для цієї гвентівки?
I see a left-to-right trend for mine too. I wonder if that means a slight clockwise adjustment to the scope position will "pull" the gun barrel position more vertical?
@zerlgi I am not 100% sure if it is going to solve the problem, I think it is a combination of 2 things, the main reason I believe is due to the variation in speed which is changing the stability of the pellet. More spin or revolutions means it is shifting horizontal. The other option is that the scope is not 100% aligned with the barrel in the line of sight but I think you would only see change in POI then if you changed distances
These videos are tempting me to get the Stormrider kit from Pyramyd Air. After I pay off a few holiday expenses I'll have to get one, do you have a preference for .22 or .177?
@Mark Stephan I must be honest I do like .177 a lot but because of the hunting I will most likely stick to. 22
Oh and if you stay sub 12fpe go 177 if you go FAC then go 22
I have the same experience with the sweet spot for the stormrider. I wonder there is different sweetspots for different pellets, or you think it is always the same sweetspot?
It is dependent on pellet as well as different pellets react differently at different speeds
So in theory it might be possible to shoot some kind of pellet from 200-150 bar accurate ..don't know which yet. :) And then the others. I had like you succes with the JSB pellets , especially the hades .22 . I had bad results with the copper once. The tin (leadfree) of JSB works also very good (atleast for the 20 meter) @@African-Budget-Pellet-Gunner
JSB is always good, I would worry with anything except lead and especially dome pellets
Great creative way to explain the transfer port air flow!!! Are you using a chronograph? Best regards
@Airgun Nostalgia currently using chrono connect app which is probably not as accurate as a chronograph but it is consistent so gives me what I need. Glad you enjoyed the illustration it took a while to think of it
@@African-Budget-Pellet-Gunner Yes, great out the box ideas, 😀You should try and invest in a quality Chrono... Helps loads. Although my gun is regulated... Trying to set up the correct hammer tension and regulated pressure couldn't have been done properly without the chrono. Best regards
@Airgun Nostalgia Yes, you are correct a good chronograph is on the bucket list just need the budget and the bucket list to align😄😄
@@African-Budget-Pellet-Gunner haha... I hear you loud and clear! I'm using a really good Polish brand called Lmbr... Nothing fancy but super reliable and well priced. Not sure if you get them in South Africa.
This is a very informative video! Thanks for that!
What is the diameter of the transfer port on your rifle?
Friendships from France 😊
@22lr shooter my transfer port is 3.5mm. Greetings from South Africa
@@African-Budget-Pellet-Gunner ok, thank's 🙂
Cheers from Greece mate!!! Your reviews are great...
I was wondering, does it worth buying one pr900w.177 for up to 50 meters shooting (with or without extra barrel band) ? Or should i buy a pp750 instead?
Thanks mate keep up the good work!!! 👌
Hi Thanks for dropping a comment. To go out to 50m it is very possible with the PR900 but it would be very tough for the pp750. The extra barrel band is not a must, you would need to get decent optics to go to 50m.
@@African-Budget-Pellet-Gunner thanks mate, i am a "springer guy" for many years
So i have got a couple of good optics, i ve already bought a pump like yours on another video, silicone oil etc. The only thing that is missing is a pcp.. but I think only until Friday!
PR900 is definitely capable especially once you've got the sweetspot and the correct pellet sorted
what size rings are you using for your scope?
These are 25mm dovetail medium
hi Tyrone, where did you purchase your Artemis pr900?
I goy it from outdoor pitstop here in South Africa
@@African-Budget-Pellet-Gunner Thanks for letting me know :) 👍
Hallo Tyrone, habe schon lange Deinen Kanal abonniert.
Harald
Hi Harold I will need to see if I can get my hands on 1 to test. Not many willing to send us rifles to test/review unfortunately
is this good gun accurate inaf for ratting??
Absolutely, will be more than adequate for ratting
@@African-Budget-Pellet-Gunner but my concern is that is not accurate always ...only few shots in exactly right pressure??
Unfortunately this is the nature of unregulated air rifles, you will need to get to know your rifle, the sweetspot and which is it's favourite pellet. Knowing this it will be more than accurate enough. Also remember, it is good practice to check your zero before hunting or pest control. Most people don't show this on their videos but they do check their zero before shooting
@@African-Budget-Pellet-Gunner exactly.did you try instal Huma air regulator? it cost 88eur and is specificly for pr900w unregulater rifle.did you install it?because if im want shots 70 rats im want be always accurate not only 10 shots
I didn't install the regulator, I prefer less chance of something going wrong. If you go for the PR900 gen2 it comes regulated as standard then you don't need to worry about staying in the sweetspot. Or just go CP2 or CR600 the co2 is self regulated and co2 is more than enough power to kill a rat
