    I just wanted to say thank you for this video. I finally got my son's bike back together after about a year of it sitting on my bike lift. I've probably watched it enough to memorize it. It definitely made my son's rebuild fairly easy. Thanks again.

    Very meticulous assembly. One note; did you swap the Intake & Exhaust Cam positions? I could swear I was seeing a stamped "I" on the front cam and a stamped "E" on the rear cam? Does it matter, or do they both have both markings on them? Thanks!

    • @HTMR
      @HTMR  Před 7 lety +1

      Sure looks that way doesn't it? I put the motor together over 3 years ago and it ran fine. I'd pay attention to the way you disassemble it.

    • @HTMR
      @HTMR  Před 7 lety +2

      Just looked it up because it was bothering me: both cams and sprockets have the same PN's, so they are the same and doesn't matter how they are installed.

    hey so just wondering how the timing chain stays in place on on the right teeth on the bottom of the engine (in the crank case) and how you know its in the right place with it dangling down like that.

    • @valleyboystv6170
      @valleyboystv6170 Před 7 lety

      Wait figured it out nvm, I was thinking the chain had to be on a spacial tooth at the crank case to align it with the top gears

    • @HTMR
      @HTMR  Před 7 lety

      There is usually a chain guide/follower that keeps it engaged.

    Nice and interesting video! I have a question that may be a very tall order, but still i need to ask. Do you know whether this engine could be fitted into a Yamaha XT225 frame, or have you ever heard anyone attempting to do so? My beloved XT225 (also known as Serow ) has almost 100.000km in its clock and the cost to fully rebuild it (at least where i live) is the same as swapping with a different engine. Thanks in advance!

    • @HTMR
      @HTMR  Před 7 lety

    is'nt it better to build both top and bottom ends at the same time, so that they both wear equally. Now top end will last long but bottom will wear out quicker and will shorten the life of newly build top end.

    • @HTMR
      @HTMR  Před 4 lety +3

      Bottom end will probably last forever.
