What a beautiful episode... This shit really hits home.. My husband been gone for 15yrs. And got a few more to go. This is the thing to do mentally but have to an extremely strong support system. I don't miss a visit, a call, or a box being sent. He call everyday unless on lockdown or being transferred to another prison do homework over the phone with our daughter, when it's award day at school or any bday or Christmas he calling face time not missing a beat.. he still helps pay bills, get school clothes and supplies and shit( he do what he do) but I've seen him loose both of his parents and grandparents since being in prison so mom picked up his mama slack... She don't miss a visit, she still write him... We pray together the whole 9.... U have to solid and have each other back... Some days are better than others but i try my very best to let him know he's not forgotten and he's not thrown away. That's my best friend.
This was really beautiful real talk you could see how proud his son was sitting next to him it almost felt like he reverted back to a four-year-old trying to hold that excitement down ✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿
