This made me chuckle. When I was sailing in 2017 we got boarded by some locals, from their canoes at 5.30 am in Numa Numa bay and had to fight them off the boat before legging it out to sea as plenty more were on their way. We called it The Battle of Numa Numa Bay as a kind of joke. We only had lengths of wood and our fists though, bit more of a pirate fight.
I don't think the Japanese has no Nazi's weapons like the STG 44 the only Japanese weapons are the Arisaka Type 99, Type 11 MG Type 100 SMG Type 92 Heavy MG and Type 99 MG
@@joshuabrunetta4656 I believe he means cursed with inaccuracies is what he meant. Vanguard decided to throw realism out the window, but it’s still a good game
Glad units like the 93rd got recognition. All the developers had to do was just put in 1944, rather than 1943 and it would’ve been more accurate. 93rd didn’t get to Bougainville until ‘44. I know it’s not everyone’s favorite but I really believe there’s more story to tell in WW2. Especially with units like this.
I feel the same way I'd love to play a mission about the all Asian American army unit that is still the most highly decorated army regiment of WW2, I think it's the 443rd but I'm not sure
My grandmother's older brother, George Maelalo from Malaita, Langalanga, helped fight off the Japs pushing them back at Guadalcanal and then chased them out again in New Georgia, then helped bring the war to the fronts in Bouganville. He was part of the Fijian Commando's squad made up of Pacific Islanders under New Zealand officers and was in Unit 23 under Lt. Len Barrow. They were mostly like scouts and did jungle guerrilla warfare missions in New Georgia and Bouganville. Whereas back in Guadalcanal he served with the Marines in Mataniko. In Bouganville he got injured at Torokina, but still got better and helped to fight on. They pushed the Japs back from Lumaluma (Numa Numa) which in our native tongue in Malaita Langalanga the name means "houses". They were often hungry since one time the Japs cut off the supply to their foods due to a radar able to spot American planes easily. So he volunteered to destroy a radar at Sorokina. It was a stealth mission where he sneaked into the area before dawn, and because the Japs were sleeping, he got to snatch out their magazine clip from the gun and continued to locate the radar. After he blew up the radar, the Americans who were waiting outside rained bullets to the surprised Japanese, he remembered he killed 15 Japs that morning. Then he took cover downhill until the Americans could search the place. He spent the remainder of the war building an airport at Ibu up to 1945. When the Japs surrendered, he was surprised there were more Japs than Allied in numbers at Bouganville.
The SBD Dauntless Dive Bomber was in fact used to dogfight Imperial Japanese Mitsubishi A6M Zero Fighters/Interceptors in more than one occasion during the Pacific War and was even incredibly successful at it (so long as it didn't have a bomb load on board, of course). It's just that the portrayal here is absolute dogshit, to say the least.
You'd think with all the research that's been done and the books that hav been written about WW2 that they could hav at least gotten one thing historically accurate in this mission
While the atmosphere of the mission is well established, it's just a bit bland compared to World at War. Also Booker should have had given Jackson a Type 11 MG instead of an MG42 during the takeoff.
It looks like an MG-42 from the Stock to the Receiver but the Barrel is all wrong... Unless some 42s didn't have the interchangeable barrel design. But recently in CoD WW2 they got the design of the MG-32 and the MG-42 mixed up frequently so I'm really not surprised if its a freakish mix of the 2 machine guns.
@@silvertalon007 The barrel can be swapped for an MG34 or MG39 Rh barrel, ridiculous isn't it? Also they could have just gave him a Bren Gun but with modifications to make it like a ZB 26 or Type 99.
@@rosaria8384 Well... actually I made a comparison and besides the muzzle of this MG being similar to the 34, the barrels do not match either of these weapons, they are similar but different. My Theory is that there was a Tech Trade with the Germans and that this Machine Gun in particular is some sort of Japanese Copy, still doesn't explain the numerous STG-44s with various specialized attachments tho.
That actually has happened in WW2 where a parachuting pilot Owen J. Baggett shot down a Japanese Zero with his 1911 when the Japanese pilot tried to shoot him down. It was a lucky shot that hit the enemy pilot in the head, so it worked. Japanese soldiers with Stg-44s, though, yeah that's not accurate.
I perfer it when there at least some historical accuracy and 1. That design of Sherman’s never existed and 2. It shouldn’t even be able to function properly
