      @@jillianbowen7265 I just rinse and pick over the lentils to make sure there are no stones and then if I'm making something like bolognese or chilli con carne I just add them straight in with everything else to boil away. Split red lentils only take about 10 minutes to cook. For more solid mince dishes like burgers and meatballs I either cook up and mash the lentils to add along with breadcrumbs or use mashed chick-peas.

    I watched the tv amazed at the Pandemic shopping. USA. I had stocked up on toilet paper in January because it was 80% off with sales, coupons, and rebates. I had a one year supply. I made sure my family and friends were fine. It was months before we bought more and then only then because it was 65% off.

      If a family of 18 can stick to the limits no one has reason not to as well! They are considerate and compassionate towards others hence them not shopping individually just to stockpile for their large family. We, the general public have to look out for one another because the gov and politicians don’t give a crap if you starve cause they’re still getting paid their normal salaries plus bonuses! I pray that God blesses everyone with love and compassion🙏🙏✨

    We have no bread or yeast out here. In Brisbane were my dad live and he went shopping for frozen veggies he went to Woolworths and they told him only 2 frozen product's he wanted to buy beans corn and some frozen chips thecheakout person said only 2 items he got upset when he left the store. But when he left a young lady called out to my dad and handed him the frozen chips she bought them for him he said he had tears in his eyes. My neighbors bought me a 9 pack of toilet paper. There are some deason,t people in the world.

    Greetings from NW Missouri in the US. We're experiencing many of the same shortages here - not a roll of toilet paper to be found, canned fruit and veggies are a thing of the past. Oddly enough, we have plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, and most meats except for ground (minced) beef. Eggs are nowhere to be found, as if the chickens have gone on strike. I have been able to order canned vegetables from Amazon, but it took about a week to get the items in stock. I was also able to get cleaning supplies, again with a week's delay. I have been impressed with how friendly people have been in the stores - no fighting or yelling or grabbing items out of other people's carts. Most of the fighting has been confined to our politicians. Be safe!

I was amazed at people going nuts over noodles, rice ect being empty but not two steps away from coles was an Asian store that was stocked to the rafters. I wondered why they were and the store owner said simply I am Asian trade has been down since this started. I found that to be a sad state of affairs but also a blessing for us as we were able to buy what we needed instead of living out of takeaways. Many blessings to you all. P>S> You forgot your total

    I'm in Illinois, one of the 6 (as of today) US "shelter in place" or "Stay Home!!" states. Our schools, bars and restaurants closed down last week. Only essential stores are open so clothing stores, jewelry stores and such are closed down and some boarded up. I believe the reason the grocery stores have gone to no returns is due to the virus. It can survive on cardboard for 24 hours and on plastic, 2 or 3 days. Please make sure to wash your hands when you get home. Stay safe!!

    I agree with that statement. If you have plenty and you see elderly or even people in general (as some are front line workers saving peoples lives or working in hospitals to keep it running) just let the person buy it. Dont hoard for yourself.
    You as a family can always go more often as you have a car and dont need to take public transport.

    Our stores here in the northeast of the US, seem to be running out of meat! I found no chicken breast, ground beef or beef roasts. I talked to the butcher and he gave the suggestions of buying a whole turkey, whether you have a large or small family, and freeze the leftovers. The same for whole hams and large cuts of meat we wouldn’t normally buy. My children are adults and have their own homes and we are now on the “stay at home” order and travel only when necessary. I work in hospital so I am traveling to work everyday so we can exchange items too, when needed. My daughter needed salt and I needed baking powder, so we swapped, keeping the 6 foot distance required. My generation is also the one that hates to pay full price, so in the past when the price would be rock bottom, such as pasta for .50, I would stock up. I am sharing my pasta, soup, canned veggies, paper towels, soap etc. God bless you and your family!

    • @TheBonellFamily
      @TheBonellFamily  Před 4 lety

      Smart way to shop isn't it, stock up when the price is down. I stockpile mainly cleaning products and toiletries so we are good for all of those things and I often do big freezer meal cook ups but I certainly got caught out with some items in lower numbers. Oops! Oh well, what can we do, nobody knew this was coming. Now we all stick together. I love the way your family is sharing everything, we are doing that too. God bless.

In the US we also/still have no toilet paper, paper towels, yeast, flour, sugar, napkins, tissues, cleaning supplies, etc. There are limits of 1 loaf of bread per customer, but there is almost none anyway. Luckily I have yeast and flour. There was no pork at all and minimal beef and chicken when I went to the market on Saturday. If you have a Bunnings close to you, they have the BEST disinfectant. It's in the cleaners aisle. It's about $4 for one of the pre made up spray bottles, or around $10-12 for the big one you make yourself. Which makes 40 liters. It's hospital grade. Mum used to work in a nursing home and that's what they used. With this COVID19 thing, we got the big one to make up.
    People need to chill with the panic buying! It's ridiculous to see no toot paper, pasta, flour or rice. I love those baby foods. I have a bunch of health issues and the little jars and pouches are sometimes the only thing I'm able to eat that day.

    Hi ladies, I think you did quite well with your shopping but again no paper products lol! No point panicking over what you can or cannot get or the limit placed on things you can get as long as you can get a little right! I should imagine your sort of stocked like myself in freezer and pantry it’s just a case of keeping it topped up as once you deplete everything it does take a while to rebuild it back up. As you know my biggest problem of late was getting a delivery as I am unable to walk around a store but that was resolved lately thanks to Woolworths Priority Assist, Coles stopped deliveries, so feeling much better about things even with the limits or substitutions that are made to my orders. If we all do the right thing like you say, and just buy what we need at the time, are kind to others, remembering there is always some one worse off than ourselves, we will get through this tough period. We are stronger than we think we are and will surprise ourselves I am sure of this. Please be safe and look after each other and take care of others in need too as I know you will.❤️

It appears not though I cannot get TP at all. Hopefully when supplies start to trickle through from distribution centres things will improve. In the meantime we are getting some supplies so consider we are lucky. You guys take care of yourselves and much love from my house to yours❤️

      I've actually always used natural products to clean it but I thought I might try the washing machine cleaner from the store to see if it's any better on some of the residue in the machine. I haven't tried it yet but might be straight back to using my old favourites yet. ;-)

    How often do you shop? Really not intruding but how does one survive shopping for 18 people? I always feel crazy broke trying to shop once a month.

      Diwondermum who delivered your groceries? I am also agoraphobic I used to be able to get to the shops now and then seeing as I only live a minute walk from them but since late November I had a major setback and have been unable to leave my unit even having trouble to throw my rubbish in the bins downstairs in my unit block 😫

    • @Diwondermum
      @Diwondermum Před 4 lety +2

      cootsuni Hates You l live in Traralgon Victoria Australia. I filled out a form on Woolworths Website requesting delivery because they are now only delivering to the elderly, disabled or mandatory isolated. They then sent me a notification that they had a window for me. I went into the online store chose what wanted, altered it so l didn’t break any limit restrictions and then it was ordered. There is no meat, flours, eggs, sugar, loo paper, tissues, cleaning goods and other items are restricted. You have to become creative when ordering. So you can only have two loaves bread! However if you have one loaf bread you can then add a loaf of raisin bread, some rolls and a packet of wraps. You just have to think outside of the normal way of thinking. Hope this information helps!

      Diwondermum oh wow thank you so much I did not know there was a form you can fill out. I actually worked for them for 11years had a injury to my back was on worker’s compensation for 3 years and of course they screwed me over. Haven’t been able to go back to work due to back pain anxiety depression and doc told me in 2014 I was agoraphobic . I have not left my suburb since 2013 I was still able to get to the shops and doctor and that’s about it. Had my son in 2016 and have not been able to work since then also marriage failed soon after my sons 1st birthday he does help with shopping when he does come around but if we go into lockdown don’t even know if I would be able to get the help to get my groceries

    Here in the USA from March till July the shelves were bare, dairy, meat, paper, canned goods. They put limits on stuff and people still hoarded. From Dec of 18 till June of 2020 I had no vehicle. I live alone and 40 miles from town. I could only get rides once a month. Here in Michigan we have a .10 deposit on every pop, beer containers. Till August we weren't allowed to return them. Our Governor disgraced us in handling this. It's now Jan 2021 and we are still locked down. Well technically for the 3rd time. Shes opened the state up long enough that people spread the virus, them locked us down again.
    And yesterday we learned that the President to be is the man whose party caused massive voter fraud and NO ONE, NOT EVEN THE SUPREME COURT would void it.

    It’s not great here in the UK as there’s literally no pantry goods like flour, sugar, rice,pasta or cleaning supplies and even pet food is getting sparse. Also, there’s no deliveries available for weeks at the stores and the one I managed to order 2 weeks ago got cancelled 5 minutes before arrival so I got nothing! I’m agoraphobic and have other health/mental health problems, but the worst is my mum has dementia and lives in a care home and it’s closed to everyone, no one in my family can see mum for months (if she makes it past the virus) touch wood! 💔😓😷🌎
