The Astrophytum asterias really got big this spring!! I watered it and " boom!" Can't wait till it blooms!!! I hope I catch it! Thanks Ziggy!! Yeah, I've watched this cylindropuntia for about 40 years. I us3d ro work out of this town of St.Robert. the motel was a place for low income folks. Had a friend there about 20 years ago. But the place is falling in!! This seems to be a trend in this area. There's at least 3 more places like it in the same area. This cactus stands out in front of the office. Or what was the office. Many sapling trees have grown around it and covered with parthenocissus vines. This slowly killed this plant. I got these cuttings about two months ago. I tried to call the number for the motel to ask about it but that number is disconnected. A friend told me it was abandoned property. So I thought " oh! I need to get some cuttings. Two months later my wife and I drove past it and you can see it's dead. It will find new life it Morris Park!! Thanks for watching Ziggy!!! And your great comment!!! @ZiggySearchfieldCactus There is a photo on Google earth, but it's from years back. The cactus I can barely make out in the patch of brush outside the office. But it's much shorter. So I'm not sure how many years ago this picture was taken. When I look up our place it's a picture from 20 years ago.
