Foxgear TWEED55 Vs. Fender TWIN REVERB Blackface 1967

- The Video Speaks itself.. even using a crappy free db meter app, we can compare the sound (using same speakers at 4ohm) and power.. the Twin is a 100W, and it is set with Volume at 4, where it starts to crunch. The Foxgear Tweed55 can reach the same volume and tone for a fraction of price, not mentioning weight!!
150$ vs. 2,500$
*Absolutely no kind of processing or editing, we used a mic cause the phone was distorting at that sound level (the db app is not so reliable, the real volume was over 100db, insanely loud..but the important is to see that it says the same level for both amps.)

This is pretty awesome. I have the Korus, Echosex Baby and the Rainbow by foxgrear and they are amazing pedals!
Wow. I’m 64 years old and have been lugging amps since 12 years old. I think I just found my salvation.
Lovely 👌🏼
I can't find any demos of the Tweed55 or the Plex55 anywhere. Please make some quality demos or send some units out for demo. I'm very keen to see how these amps work with pedals on a pedal board!
next week, stay tuned!

Does it work well with IR loaders?
I take it the output only goes to a speaker on this pedal right? So to do direct recording you would need some kind of redbox to tone down the power correct?
Yes, it is a real amp and need to be connected ONLY to a speaker. Foxgear is our simplified version of our miniamps range under Baroni-lab brand. if you want more power or more options like 2 channels, fx loop, cab-sim direct out, check the DLA 120 (Doug Aldrich signature miniamp)
@@foxgearpedals844 Thanks for the info I'll checkout the DLA
I agree with Rob. This is literally the only video I can find anywhere. I am interested in the product, but you (Foxgear) have to understand, the Electro-Harmonix 5MM exists, and dupe people looking for “up to task” pedalboard style amp heads. If it is any good, and you want people to buy it, we at least need a video of a guitarist playing a guitar through one. Give me the evidence, you’ll have a consumer.
Next week Justin!

@@foxgearpedals844 Yes! That was great! See?? Now, I’m in! Order placed.
@@justinward5261 let us know how you feel when you will try it.. (4ohm cab is the best option.. like old 4x12" marshall..)
@@foxgearpedals844 Holy %#^*. I am sorry I doubted you. Two complaints:
1: The jack on the power supply is not sturdy enough to support the straight jack. (I have had zero issues, it just feels a little flimsy)
2: When adjusting gain or master, I get electrical hum.. unless I ground myself to the metal chassis..
I’m running it into a mojotone lite 2x12 Cab with dual Cannabis Rex speakers, parallel at 4 ohms. It can get LOUD, and stay pristinely clean.
This qualifies as the BEST full “amp in a pedal” I have come across, and at a better price than similar pedalboard mounted amplifiers. Every other one I have tried (I’ve spent a lot of$$) would have had a much longer “nitpicking” list. Nice job!
It's mentioned that it works best with 4 ohm speaker. Is there a really noticeable difference in volume than with an otherwise similar 8 ohm speaker? Or just a little?
Doubling the cab's impedance it will halves the power.. Twee55 is 55W (true RMS.. not "musical"..) at 4ohm, 27,5 at 8ohm and 13 at 16ohm. If you mean dB difference, obviously is way smaller than numbers above suggests.. at 8ohm it is a bit less loud than a 8ohm, but still enough for rehearsal or gigs.
@Foxgear Pedals thanks for the response. Either way, it sounds great so far. Hopefully the 8 ohm cab will be loud enough, but at least there's some room to go up if needed with a 4.
Well I like the pedal, but that's about the worst tone from the Fender you can get. WTF? How about a fair comparison with decent tones?
is this amplifier powerful enough to play with a band? on a stage? thank you for your reply
tomorrow we'll post a new video to reply to your question. anyway yes, no bullshit, it is really 55W rms. with a 4 ohm cabinet. (like marshall 4x12" that has switch 4/16 ohm) we made a bit more powerful than our Kolt45 so it is enough for play in a band even if you have only a 8ohm cabinet.
Thanks 😉

why not 100 watts? is it so difficult to make?
we have up to 200 W RMS under Baroni-lab brand.. check the DLA120 Doug Aldrich signature 2 channels, or the Hellraiser 200W rms.
Would have been nice if they had used a Tweed Twin instead of the Black face.
If you can find a tweed twin just like that, no problem.
It sounds very good and does some impressive things. But...it sounds nothing like a 55 Tweed amps which overdrive at lower volumes and are more mids focused. What the pedal does is more "65 blackface" than "55 tweed." Curious why it wasn't named 65 bf instead, would have been a much more accurate name for the product. That said, well done.
Well Johnny, the name is basically referred to the 55 Watt, and tweed was just a tolex, used for many fender amps.. thanks for the nice words tho
This video doesn't do a very good job of selling the unit, I'm afraid.
Why? stay tuned anyway, next week will be released new professional videos..
