I love this series but stickers are nightmare, we need to force Lego to stop making them and print everything on bricks in future sets and make them release replacement brick with prints and also replacement vinyl stickers that doesn't take whole brick size (only cut shape of detail) and that will last longer than paper or film, also we must force Lego to release printables sources for all released sets with stickers so we can print replacement stickers on vinyl ourselves and replace paper and god awful transparent stickers! Please make video with demand for Lego for this to make it less frustrating and more future proof!

The techniques used really make up for the negatives tho, it’s always interesting to see how they achieve the shapes.

I appreciate you highlighting why the price per piece is more/worth it with the first set. Sometimes just showing a big set and it being "good value for the piece count" hides the fact that the pieces you're actually getting aren't that great or unique (e.g. 100s of studs).

  • @tonymoore78
    @tonymoore78 Před rokem +2

I feel like Tiago complains about things that are essentially common to any Lego build. Small gaps, curves of the original model versus more angular look of a Lego build, as if the designer should’ve done better. Or as if he could’ve done better. There are some things with Lego bricks you simply have to accept. If you want a perfect replica then you get a diecast model.

Great overall video quality as always! As a car enthusiast though I must talk about one very glaring issue I have with the beginning of the video: the engine sounds.😅 For example, Pagani is a car manufacturer famous for it's cars having beautifully, high-pitched sounding V12 engines but the sound you have used in the video sounds like a V8 to me. So in the future it would be a great testament to your attention to detail if you found the exact engine sounds, or ones of similar engine types to the ones in the cars you review the models of. I still really liked the intro idea, just sharing my thoughts on how to make it better! 😎

Speed Champions is a series that I adore, and I feel you don't even have to like or be interested in cars to appreciate how incredible the sets are.
Every year I look forward to the new lineup of cars because I'm so excited to see the innovative techniques used to replicate the real vehicles.
This year was fantastic, the McLaren F1 LM and Solus, the Pagani Utopia, even the R34 Skyline despite the issues people had with it is still a phenomenal set.
I remember the year the 8 studs wide change was announced and I was skeptical but when I first saw the improved detail and proportions I knew it was a great decision.
The Audi Quattro was my favourite of the first 8 stud sets and every year after they've gotten better and better.
The LaFerrari, Konegsegg Jesko, the Ford GT and Bronco, Dodge Challenger and drag racer, the GR Supra, the AMG One and F1, Dodge Charger and DB5.. the Speed Champs series is quite honestly the peak of affordable lego sets, great value for money with an incredible building experience all packed in one.
I'm excited to see the new 2024 wave and possibly a late 2023 wave because these sets just impress me more and more with each new release.

I don't think the piece count is important at all with these sets. I kind of wish the Ferrari didn't have the yellow stripe. And I wish the Pagani could've been all drum lacquer pieces like the Hubble telescope from the Discovery space shuttle set. I would not have been mad at all if it cost 30 instead of 25 because of that, and I'm sure it would be a highly sought after set. The dark grey just looks very bland and makes the actually great design of the car look not so great.

I’m not into cars (real or Lego), but the Speed Champions sets keep sliding into my collection because they’re just so well done, both in terms of building techniques and in terms of parts-parts per dollar, useful existing parts, and cool new/recolored parts. So for me the Pagani and the Porsche are the tops of this group: Pagani because of the build and the new parts and the pile of gray (when I’m not actually building in grays, I prefer using grays over black or white for “neutral” parts); and Porsche because of the new parts, even if a bunch of them are in red (which I’ll probably never use). Not many new parts in the Ferrari, the build looks pretty boring aside from the back end, and it’s almost all red and black (my two least-favorite colors).
Obviously the color preferences are just me, but I think for anyone who’s primarily looking to add to their Lego collection rather than to have specific cars to play with or display, the ranking would be similar.

Really wish they'd make more of the classics: Testarossa, 308GTS, Lotus Esprit Turbo, etc..... 😕

    It was a great video!
If u want to keep on going with the speed champions, I think it'd be cool to get the double set from Mercedes, though I have to say, it got a lot of stickers.

It's not cheating to have new parts. That's a good thing, that should become more common for enhanced looks. I personally like the pagani color because it makes the car look real and just nice.

I hope there's a new koenigsegg set eventually, that new windscreen is so much more fitting than the old one

These cars look great but one thing thats a "con" for me is that they "slanted" some of the cars, meaning the front axle is lower than the rear axle (same thing that is present in the skyline R34), which bothers the heck out of me when looking at the model. Just a personal thing for me. idk if thats the case for everyone else. just a note. Definitely getting the 812 and the Pagani tho!
