    This was fun! Straightforward, and easy to modify. This pattern is so versatile, you can make it however you want it. All you need to know is that you need an even number of bead stitches and then your hdc will be beads x 2 + 2. For example, chain 34 ---> then 16 front/back posts for ribbing --->34 hdc ---> 16 bead stitches. Then you can make the panels and sleeves as long/short/narrow/wide as you want, and it doesn't matter what kind of yarn you use. I used a superwash bulky yarn, so it's warmer and heavier, and has a beautiful drape. The one I made is more of a fall/winter cardigan, but I like the pattern so much that I'm going to do it again in a lighter yarn for spring and summer. I love how Carrie's sweater turned out, but I LOVE how you can easily make this pattern your own! Thanks Carrie!

    I just made this Cardigan. I'm so glad you did it in large. Almost every pattern is done in small. Not everyone is a small. They also say you can get the pattern and make it in different sizes. Not true. They don't tell you how to many stitches you need to make it bigger. So Thank You!!

    A friend commissioned me to make two of your cardigans. I am assembling the pieces of this one now. I haven't felt comfortable making cardigans or sweaters before because I am not experienced at sewing. That said, your patterns make it so much easier. You've inspired me to design my own pattern, now that I understand how to make the pieces and put them together. Thank you Carrie!

      @barbarahirzel2883 Před 3 lety +2

      Hi, Janet. I am 5'6", wearing a large/size 12. I made the sweater for large. It does not fit baggy at all. It fits good. If you want it baggy, you may want to go up a size. I did start the sleeve with 30 stitches and added more stitches to get up to 54 (I think is the number) because I still needed the sleeve to get wider. I just didn't want it to be too loose. I made another sweater pattern from Carrie and also did the large there. Yes, I used dk (size 3) yarn. Hope this helps you. Good luck with making it!

      @madamc3458 Před 3 lety +1

      @@janetvanbrunt7903 - I have just seen Barbara Hirzel's response and would agree with Barbara. Only thing I would add is tension. I am a fairly lose crocheter and I am 5'6" but more a size 16. I do want this fairly baggy, but I have crocheted Carrie's fab designs before, and, for me, I know the L/XL will be great for me. Also, again, totally agree with Barbara is that it is quite easy to adapt this pattern re: sleeves, etc. Also, I would certainly use DK yarn and not aran weight - slightly finer yarn that hangs better for this design. Carrie does have other patterns for Aran. Good luck with your cardigan, I am sure it will be fabulous x
