Welcome to a walk through the magical village of "Lenk im Simmental" with its beautiful wooden houses and chalets. Enjoy a tour of this Swiss mountain village and come along on a gondola ride up the local mountain Betelberg with a breathtaking view of the Alps and the magnificent landscape in the Bernese Oberland.
Lenk, a municipality in the administrative district of Obersimmental-Saanen in the canton of Bern. It lies at 1068 m and is the highest municipality in the Simmental. The municipality area includes several mountains, the highest is Wildstrubel. A little below the Wildstrubel, at the Siebenbrunnen, rises the Simme, which gives the Simmen Valley (Simmental) its name. Lenk has about 2’300 inhabitants.
In summer, wonderful hikes, high mountain tours, blooming alpine pastures, rushing waterfalls and crystal clear mountain lakes attract families and nature lovers to Lenk. In winter, the well-known Adelboden-Lenk ski area and the associated family-friendly Betelberg ski area with extensive hiking and cross-country ski trails await visitors.
Lenk is located 57 km south of Bern and 42 km east of Montreux.
The Simmen valley (Simmental) is an alpine valley in the Bernese Oberland in Switzerland. It extends from Lenk to Boltigen (Obersimmental) and from there to the end of the valley in Wimmis near Spiez (Niedersimmental). The Simme river flows through the valley.
