Honestly, it's so funny, I see you all commenting on Burnt Island's KS page, keep it up, ahahaha. You are all the frigging best.
I know in your review video I wasn't considering backing HtSaW. After seeing the various group buys in Ontario, I am kind of sold in joining yours!
Thank you, Chris! How to Save a World is one of the few non-expansion campaigns I have backed this year.
“I don’t care about Yuval! I care about you all!” -Chris George
I appreciate the reminders to spend responsibly.
Can't back - you're sending me a copy 😀 THANKS!
The grunting reel is now mandatory.
My favourite from Burnt Island is In Too Deep. This game is in my top10. You have to try it.
Your Rebirth reading had me rolling. They really missed a trick not hiring you to make their overview video.
Chris, i think i can speak for all of us, there is something about you that inspires us to play games solo....... (Aussie here, so this is a sledge, aka just having fun)
Haha as long as people are playing games, I'm happy ;)
You convinced me to back How to save a world. Not the company, but your excitement made me join the group buy. Hope it is a great game.
Enjoyed the video!
I'm glad, I hope you like it!
I'm still waiting for the $60k 🤣 You've been an amazing cheerleader for How to Save a World and Yuval! Thank you so much Chris! Great video.
Truly, only backing because designed by Chris George's neighbor. What's going to pass on it, but you made me take another look at it
Honestly, I appreciate these blurbs at the beginning so much. This is the only YT channel I support via Patreon and I’ve considered cancelling it many times because my financial situation does ebb and flow considerably because of the nature of my job. But the way I see it, I have far too many board games that any sane person would own already and this is the only channel that I feel provides completely sincere and honest feedback that still highlights the best games but stops me from buying ALL the games and I appreciate that. And a couple of bucks a month towards a content creator who cares more about his followers than a sponsored paycheck is more than worth it. But also… I follow you mostly for your cats.
Now that I got my shout out, I’m canceling my Patreon subscription. Thanks Chris:)
Feudum is the only kickstarter I backed that I sold again without playing it because I just couldn't get the rules in my head. I think I knew them for half a day when I planned to play it with some friends but then something happened and we didn't play that day and by the next time I got around to it I forgot everything again. It is beautiful tho (probably the reason why I bought it without knowing the rules in the first place....)
The lightning round 😂😂 loved that bit:
1:32:10
I began to imagine Shrek reading that Rebirth section 😂
I'm going to take over your channel one of these days Chris George. Watch your back......
21:18 oh no meteors becoming crashed into us
Werewolf in the Dark sounds amazing but I worry you really need a good layout. My home has a bizarre layout so it would be lousy for it
Why I am not more interested in How to Save a World -- it's the theme! I can't wrap my brain around how I'm competing to be the best at saving the world. The theme, to me, screams COOP. But then it isn't coop. I trust you that it is a GREAT game but money is real tight and what I got is going to CYSMIC!!!
I'm not backing HtSaW for multiple reasons.
1. I have a lot of games already
2. I now have a car payment again so less spending money each month
3. I already have several games I have or will back this year
4. Honestly the theme doesn't speak to me that much. I'm sure it's fun and Burnt Island has the quality, but it seems kind of abstract to me. Had I played it at a convention in person maybe my opinion would be different.
hall/fall of the mountain king are quality indeed. i have struggled to learn them though.
Fall is VERY fiddly I have found. I much prefer Hall, I find the gnome upkeep in Fall to be pretty exhausting.
Email received!
The grunts are quite efficient as a recap.
I downloaded the werewolf in the dark print and play and will use my one night ultimate to create a version and see if my group likes it. Sounds fun but also sounds gimmicky 😆 Bummed I didn’t win the game but I never win anything like that so I shouldn’t be surprised. Haha
I truly wish you received commissions from all the games you convince people to buy. I know, I know, you're trying to do the polar opposite, but today you failed. I backed How to Save a Planet - designed by Chris George's neighbor. It better be fun! :)
I hope you like it!!! :)
Okay, okay. I trusted your love of Rising Sun. I hadn't even looked at How to Save a World and you sold me. My wallet though, is very disappointed.
They are quite different games, but I do like both! More of a heads down experience with HTSAW, doesn't have the negotiation aspect, but it's a fun puzzle.
@@RoomandBoardReviews Your description of it sounded like a lot of other games I really like and enjoy, so I'm in!
Another nice episode-thank you! By the way, since I'm quite interested in Feudum, I appreciated you going through the rulebook in more detail than you usually do. Where can I get your full reading of the rulebook ... Audible? 😉
You don’t care about Yuval, you care about Yu al!
Chris, I didn’t know you were so talented with your Irish accents! Or was it Scottish? No matter it/they were brilliant!
I'm surprised How to Save a World doesn't have more backs, as every comments I've heard about the game is that it's really good. Maybe it's just bad timing, or not enough marketing and getting preview copies out for reviewers. But I've backed every Burnt Island game and a few KTBG games.
No bites in Ottawa for a group pledge.
Yeah, it's super shocking to me as well, I was like, oh this is going to be their biggest hit yet, and then seemingly crickets. I really just wish I understood why that was! I'm stoked it's funded though and that I'll be getting my copy - saw your comments on the KS page too so happy you're grabbing it and hope you enjoy it :)
If you frequent Toronto, or know how we could do a handoff, I'm happy to make that happen, but yeah might be too far away to warrant the hassle vs the shipping cost.
@@RoomandBoardReviews Thanks for the offer, but I avoid Toronto. I'm one of those who pays to take the 407 just to avoid Toronto.
Although one of these days, when going to visit family in Essex county, I need to take a side stop to BoardGameBliss and/or 401 Games, as both are just off the 407 and on the way south. One day I'll convince my wife. :)
Blood - Ludus Magnus Studios!!!
Chris have you had a chance to try or hear much about the solo mode for How to save a world?
I haven't been able to try it out or heard all that much. I never feel like I'm the best judge of solo character since I don't play enough solo games. I can say I enjoyed 2-4 fairly equally but I would give the edge to 4 players personally if that's helpful
Big week! I might have missed it last week but did you cover The Thinning Veil on Gamefound? The full name is a handful and isn't doing that campaign any favors.
Backing How to Save a World of course! Also looking at the Big Sur campaign, it's a location/theme that hits close to home so I'll see if the other three games look good.
I didn't, I've looked at the full game before, they have struggled to fund twice. I thought this time it was just the art.
Gotcha! Yeah this time it seems like he's coming out with a smaller game (1-2 players) set in the world as a proof of concept.
I don't recall if you've talked about it in a previous video, but you should take a look at Cysmic if you haven't. Ambitious game, definitely a bit of a risk, but original concept by an andie studio
Yeah it cancelled before its final week last time, so when it makes its final week it'll get coverage
How does Save a World compare to like Evacuation?
Unfortunately I haven't played evacuation so I can't say
More Joey!
I'm not playing Werewolf In The Dark... I've seen _Bodies Bodies Bodies,_ I know how this ends.
Was it possible to have an accent for one game each episode?
No rulebook, no buy. What happened to you man? You've changed, man, you've changed.
Haha which one?
No Thorgal: The Card Game agan? ;)
That was last week
Oh shit, I actually didn't finish watching the last episode, I'm going to fix my mistake, thank you Sensei.
Okay are we going to talk about why the heck is your Scottish accent so good? Like, I've heard you absolutely butchered all your other voices but then this
Gah, I backed out of HtSaW because money... but if Terraria doesn't show the rulebook and some solid gameplay in the next 66 hours, I might have to shift over...
It still hasn't shown a gameplay or rulebook, that's ridiculous, it's been like a week of them saying "very soon!"
@@RoomandBoardReviews This Week™
Dear Chris George, I already own Feudum. I would appreciate it if you didn't cover games I already own. And don't pretend not to know. If you loved me truly, as you say you do, you'd know what games I already own!
When you're right you're right
Drat! Didn't win How to Save a World, now I have to decide whether to back or not! I'm really torn, love the type of game, theme looks really cool as well! If I'd back though I think it would 'have' to be deluxe but that's pricey! We'll see what the next couple days brings...
First!
Mate, mate... How to save a World look soo boring. 🤨
Do you like worker placement games where you get more and more actions/engine building as it goes on with multi use cards and variable end game scoring? All of those things excite me. If they don't excite you then yeah might not be a good fit for you
Planning on checking out and hopefully demoing How to save a world at Origins coming up.
Hope you like it as much as I have!
@@RoomandBoardReviews Same! Your excitement has made me excited to check them out at origins. I'm just waiting on endeavor right now so didn't want to put all my eggs in one basket.
@@ijcat.online Endeavor is awesome. I'm very excited to play that again.
