It's like Order 66 basically reset the clones back to factory settings. Any character without their helmets is such a nice way to distinguish the Bad Batch being somewhat immune to Order 66. The fact that the regs no longer remove their helmets makes them faceless and terrifying to even approach now. Tragic.

@@patrickmclaughlin302 it’s not just that and it’s pretty good excuse too. By using conscripts for the imperial military or what the emperor is doing is essentially making everyone indebted to the Empire. A clone wars era cruiser might have an optimized complement of 250 officers and crew and about 600 troopers. 20 years later, that same ship would have tripled that. It’s completely unnecessary, but filling the ships full of people, and all of which need to see the empire succeed, because of their everything depends on it.

You've seen Caleb before in season 7 of Clone Wars (very, very briefly in a briefing with his master, who is killed here during order 66). You have also seen him and his master in the Tales of the Jedi episode where Ahsoka is in a training room practising with her light saber. And trying to avoid spoilers, but at the same time convey something exceptionally significant, there is another series you plan to watch where you will see him again: he is no small character in Star Wars, and one of my favourite ever Star Wars characters, in one of my favourite ever series. A real hero in my books.

Dee Bradley Baker's talent as a voice actor is nothing shy of remarkable, playing not only all the Regs but each distinct member of the Bad Batch. The concept of loyalty is a very important theme to this series, loyalty to your squad, loyalty to your family (all the clones are Brothers and Omega their little sister) and how loyalty can change as the thing you serve, the ideals and the politics change.

Time for a really fun fact: the big Training Droids, those are DT series sentinel droids. They were based on the old 1994 dark forces game. Back then they were just called dark troopers. This is an exaggeration of what they’ve looked back in that game. You can actually get a copy of it right now it’s been relatively remastered. Anyway, these sentinel droids will become a mainstay of the empires armament protecting installations, automated, cargo transports, and such. And they are a new type of enemy to be fought in Jedi: Survivor. The DT is a call back to the original name dark troopers. Really interesting though is that they are still from the same general manufacturer that made Moff Gideon’s dark troopers from Mandalorian season two. Seans sent you can call them phase: zero dark troopers. Even though technically those Droids from the game we’re like big T-800s from Terminator just a robot skeletons with a big blade on the arm.

Wasn't expecting to see this in my subscription feed yesterday; in the words of our favorite Emperor: A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. Sorry I'm late, it's been a rough few days, but I'm doing better now. Bad Batch is another fantastic series from Dave Filoni, I think you're going to have fun with it. Omega has become one of my favorite characters in the new canon. Just to get it out of the way, she is also a clone of Jango Fett. Like Tech says, she is the fifth enhanced clone in addition to the Bad Batch (minus Echo of course), and the enhanced clones all have different mutations, with one of Omega's being her gender. Her voice actress, Michelle Ang, is from New Zealand, which is also where Temuera Morrison (the actor who played Jango Fett and the clones in the movies) is from. Just wanted to get that out of the way before we get into the rest of the fun facts; speaking of which, let's go ahead and get into our first fun facts for the Bad Batch!
The opening sequence of the episode recreates several scenes from Revenge of the Sith: Obi-Wan Kenobi killing a headless IG-100 MagnaGuard, Anakin Skywalker killing OOM security battle droids to rescue Chancellor Sheev Palpatine (yes, Palpatine's first name is Sheev. Funnily enough, this name wasn't revealed until the 2014 novel Tarkin by James Luceno), General Grievous in his escape pod, and a shuttle going to Utapau. The opening scene takes place on the planet Kaller and we also get to meet Master Depa Billaba and her Padawan Caleb Dume again. The scene depicting Order 66 on Kaller originally appeared in the first issue of the canon Star Wars: Kanan comic book series following Dume during Order 66 and going back to his first foray into the Cone Wars (Dume takes the name Kanan Jarrus some time after Order 66). This episode contradicts a decent amount of the comic, so it's unclear what exactly happened, but the rule of thumb for canon is usually that media like the movies and tv shows take priority over things like novels comics. When the Batch get back to Kamino, Palpatine's speech that is being shown over hologram is the same speech he gives to the Republic Senate in Revenge of the Sith after surviving the duel with Mace Windu and taking Anakin as his new apprentice. We don't know the identity of the Jedi whose body is being carried out by the Coruscant Guard in that same scene, but it isn't Shaak Ti, who we saw overseeing Clone training on Kamino in the Clone Wars series. She relocated to Coruscant shortly before Palpatine was kidnapped by Grievous and was canonically killed in the Jedi Temple by the newly anointed Darth Vader.
We get several returning characters back on Kamino: Kaminoan Prime Minister Lama Su and his aide Taun We, both of whom first appeared in Attack of the Clones when Obi-Wan went to Kamino, and Nala Se, Kamino's Chief Medical Scientist first appearing in the Clone Wars season 1, episode 3 "Shadow of Malevolence" (though you might remember her more for her role in the death of Fives during the Inhibitor Chip arc in season 6). We also get a visit from a returning Admiral and future Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin, looking much closer to his appearance in A New Hope, delivering the news that the production of new clone soldiers is to be halted. When Echo wakes up in a medical bay after the food fight, he is being treated by AZI-345211896246498721347 (AZI-3 for short), who we first met in the inhibitor chip arc in season 6 when he was working with Fives. The humanoid looking droids that the Bad Batch fight in the battle simulation are early versions of the DT-series sentry droid, a type of sentry droid made by Baktoid Combat Automata, the same company that made many of the droids in the Separatist military (including the B1-series battle droid, B2-series super battle droid, and BX-series commando droid). These droids were based on the Phase 3 version of the Dark Trooper, a type of battle droid developed for the Empire in the old Legends continuity (though they were brought back into canon by The Mandalorian, though they are a bit different from the Legends version). These droids first appeared in Star Wars Rebels, but since this show takes place in the beginnings of the Empire, this marks their first chronological appearance. The mission to Onderon gives us the return of Saw Gerrera and the fighters that Anakin, Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, and Rex trained in the Onderon arc of season 5 of The Clone Wars. At the end of the episode, the Batch mentions going to sector J-19, which is another name for the Suolriep sector of the galaxy. The Suolriep sector contains the Saleucami system and the planet of the same name that we first saw briefly in Revenge of the Sith. It was the planet where Clone Marshal Commander Neyo (CC-8826) and another trooper killed the Jedi Stass Allie in compliance with Order 66. But, we got a better look at it in the Clone Wars season 2 episode, "The Deserter." That might be a clue as to who they're going to see.
Well, I think that's it for today's fun facts. Off to a great start so far! It's good to be posting these fun facts again, I missed it during the break. Can't wait to see how you guys like the series as we go on. I'll see you guys Thursday for the next episode!

For the record, creating an opposite gender clone is much easier to do from male to female. You just have to take out the Y chromosome and copy the X chromosome. If you want to know why Omega is blonde native Kiwis have a chance to possess recessive genes for it. Temura Morrison's (Jango/Boba/Clones) family has those genes and his sister was blonde so it's just a fun bit of science to know.

Wouldn't even need to be on purpose. We've seen a handful of clones with different hair and eye colors, plus the Bad Batch themselves, so we know the cloning process isn't perfect. We haven't seen Rebels yet. At first we thought it was Cal from Jedi Fallen Order but then remembered we saw what happened to him during Order 66 🤗

I didn't like Bad Batch at first as I was tired of the trope of having children being the catalyst that creates growth and development in our adult characters. I still am tired of the trope but for what Bad Batch aired, there were some good parts I did enjoy.

@@XC11301991 I agree. And it was cute when Mando did it. And Ezra was the master apprentice relationship we never saw with Anakin and Obi-Wan. But four men and a Little Lady is just a little much.

Could you guys react to The Entire Story of Armored Core 6 by VaatiVidya? It's a long video, but you could react to it in parts

I really hate this episode. And it’s not a bad one. I just wish that the two Jedi in this episode were literally anything else. Order 66 happens the master dies, Hunter, lets the Padawan live only for Crosshair to gun him down. Having these character involved in the events an Kaller just really diminishes another work. also, this is Tom Kane’s last performance as the narrator. Since he had throat cancer. Fortunately, though you still have his appearance in Rebels, reprising another character he played back in clone wars.
Edit: Tom Kane suffered a stroke in 2020.
