  • The atmospheric, medieval Plechelmus basilica in Oldenzaal is the setting for this concert in August 2020, as part of the Stiftfestival 2020 ‘Limited edition’. In this concert dedicated to ‘Songs of thanksgiving’, Beethoven's late string quartet opus 132, one of the most remarkable works in the history of music, with its slow movement where time seems to come to a stop is preceded meditative, spiritual and touching works by Arvo Pärt, Sir John Taverner and Peteris Vasks.

    Nice performance, but the second work is by John Tavener the 20th century composer, not John Taverner, the 15th century composer.
