Notice in the March 30, 1993 episode that David holds her right hand to make sure she is secure climbing the step. He knew. What a showman.
Terri is a truly lovely Being. Her chemistry with Dave is great.
She’s still lovely and sweet and our prayers go with you Terry you’re just a dream God bless you❤
Terri Garr ...God was working overtime that day...perfection in every way!
I guess that GOD has a sick sense of humor, huh?...She now has MS!...wake up...there is no such thing as a caring GOD, only random existence, a mix of good and horrible.
Love me some Teri. It's another instance of horrible things happening to good people and I'm sure everyone watching this collection wishes her better health.
I'm reading Teri's book, Speedbumps. Man, the people she's been hanging out with...and they got to hang with her! She was pals with Steve Martin when he was still playing with balloons in Disneyland. She was actually dating Francis Truffaut while filming Close Encounters. THe acting classes before she made it were full of people who are stars now. It's a fun read, that has serious overtones.
yes she has probably fucked a lot of directors and celebs. They all do. So what? She's awesome but not because she hung out with fucking "steve martin"
She's so adorable, intelligent, beautiful, classy, funny. I wish I could hug her and make all her health problems go away.
She is so attractive and beautiful inside and out. So humble and approachable....It broke my heart when I found out recently she has MS. Congrats Terri, you had me fooled...
I spent my entire weekend (off and on) watching all 5 Teri Garr videos. I forgot she was such an incredible guest. I hope her health improves. Thanks for all the hard work on these videos, Late Night and The Late Show were important staple to my teen years and growing up. It is so incredible to see all these videos in one place.
Unfortunately MS doesn’t get better
@@gates69...and mostly hits women, kind of "bottoms out" at age 55.
Some get hit with it harder than others.
Such is life...
@@dantyler6907 I'm 51 and have had it for 30yrs now. Not fun.
@@michelleschulz4903 mild or serious?
A 111
I just like how Mr. Don Giller edits the commercial breaks, where the Band's music always seems to just flow perfectly without any jarring hiccups. !
Thanks! Some work better than others.
These video compilations are second to none.
I actually am in awe of how David could seem so cool in the presence of this stunning woman.
Terri made it a little easier by being so clever and funny but it still had to be so hard to concentrate when you know you are talking to a rare form of goddess.
Teri Garr is so many kinds of awesome. And her and Dave were magic
.. Wowww .. !! how terrific of David Letterman to put her face on the jumboTron at Times Square !! especially knowing her issues w/MS .. I think he knew but she hadnt gone public with it yet .. Terry Garr will always be the mom/ad exec in "Mr Mom" to me .. what a great flick !!
When I saw Teri Garr in Young Frankenstein, I knew, to me, that I had seen the most beautiful woman on the planet. I'm 56 and I still feel that way today. I miss seeing her and watching David Letterman. Good times.
Thank you for posting. Really enjoy Teri Garr as a talk show guest.
Teri is just so adorable:) Everything about her is so cute:)👩🏼✨💕 Her and Dave has such great chemistry and my goodness I love her hair lol
Dave seems infatuated in some of these...very sweet for Dave...
Thank you Don Giller. Love most of these Letterman collections (at least the NBC shows).
One of a kind....what a personality and beauty. ...such a good sport
Gorgeous smile and adorable laugh.
Teri is a Naturally funny and relaxed talent on Letterman's show! What a beautiful woman with great facial expressions!
My heart leaps up every time she gives one of those smiles.
Every one of their conversations seems fraught with misunderstandings.
She was just adorable. I loved her vulnerability in Tootsie. She was just adorable.
Love it in the first interview here when Letterman mentions how “photogenic” she is and “how nice you look on the monitor.” He ain’t kidding. She seems genuinely flustered by his compliment . . . which only makes her all the more adorable. Can’t think of a current actress who has even a tenth of her charm.
you said it brother... Teri Garr is amazing
I agree, but Jennifer Lawrence is very close to being an equally adorable and funny guest on talk shows today.
@@ronaldcross Jennifer lawerence? I’d like to see her What talk shows do you recommend
@@thomascolyer2828 Lots of clips of her on YT here. She hosted Jimmy Kimmel once and asked people to name JL movies. It was hilarious.
@@ronaldcross I’m going to find that jimmy kimmel episode thanks
Jet engine parts fell from the sky this week. Amazing to hear Dave mention it back then as though it was today.
Best guest Letterman ever had. Really adorable. Which probably explains why she was on so many times.
I knew someone with MS, if you look closely you can spot it as she walks out for the April 1990 show. She was a hell of a trouper to hide it for so long. People close to her had to know, I'm dead certain Letterman knew.
loved Teris bulkhead callback to like 5 years back
Teri Garr and Amy Sedaris were my favorite guests.
Who gives this a thumbs down?. Show yourself.
It sounds like she has a lot of history in show business. She definitely has good comedic timing. Older attractive actress. The best characterization; she tells the truth no matter what!!!!!!!!!!!! That means she comes from hardship but has a powerful ear that listens and gives v.good advice.
Chemistry with co-stars.
She is so dam delightful to watch and listen to in this
Had to say it has a couple of segments with Letterman at his very best.
I loved her in oh God! she was absolutely a adorable!
She Was Great in Close Encounters of The Third Kind
Teri Garr is so fantastic - love her personality and she is so beautiful
Man, I had a crush on Teri Garr since I saw her as a kid on a rerun of Star Trek in the early 80s.
60s
The 80s is when I first saw that episode of Star Trek.
From Teri Garr to Harvey Pekar, Letterman had a unique chemistry, with a special handful of guests, that even Johnny Carson didn't approach.
You can truly see the early effects of MS with this impeccable woman.
Todd Rundgren's backup singers (Jenni Muldaur, Michelle Gray Rundgren, Shandi Sinnamon) in the first clip.
Dressed as basketball players, in response to Dave saying he was obsessed with the Easy Spirit ad with women playing basketball in heels.
Is Jenni related to Maria?
@@davanmani556 Yes. Jenni is Maria's daughter.
Starting part 4. This has been great!
Thanks so much Don!
"I'm in show business, professional show business"
She emotes at a Masterful level.
Very good job in Dumb and Dumber, my favorite movie.
Teri’s persona has changed somewhat from 1990 on. She’s definitely dropped the ditz bit and she seems more serious. I speculate that it might be linked to her worsening health and she seems increasingly unsteady as she walks. As I stated previously it’s terrible and we all wish her the best.
Imbalance for walking is a condition of MS, which Terri has.
Terry has always been a charming girl very sweet and sincere and intelligent I’m sorry to hear that she’s come down with did you say MIS or some thing gosh let’s keep her in our prayers shall we please thanks❤❤
Cute, funny, sexy....Teri really was the complete package. Feel so bad about her health issues she had over the years.
terri terri terri terri, how wonderful i gets to see you . lovely lovely to look upon such a wonder
Having watched all of these clips in order, you can first see her having some trouble walking to the chair in her April 23, 1991 appearance. That's when her MS started to become really noticeable. She even needed Dave to help her to her chair. I have a feeling he knew what was wrong with her, but as a friend, he kept it private until she made the public announcement in 2002.
I NEVER knew she had anything wrong with her...I was asleep for that one. But yes I did notice her have a hard time in one intro...then as I was reading your comment he had to help her.
You can see it in the first video also. I walk like this too
@@thecomputingchronicles The club.
50:45 is just so funny... love how she reacts by asking him about being overpaid himself... lovely goofing and teasing back and forth!
I was just watching a movie she was in called Out Cold 🥶- really good film
Take all these clips, send them on a Voyager out into the universe, life would flock here.😁
My GOD she’s gorgeous...
cute at best when she was young but if she had been pretty or beautiful she would have had the Jessica Lang part in Tootsie not the character role.
yep she was hot; i remember her on cheers (hope i’m right)
@@nonameguy7857 you are not right. Shelly Long was on Cheers.
@@nonameguy7857 no...that was Shelly Long
@@pepper1188 she's great looking in YF but she slowly got old looking in a way. Her skin is old. Otherwise she's pretty cute.
She's very cute in that first segment. Hard to believe she's about 45. It's obvious Teri and Dave have a similar take on show biz, that it's ridiculous and needs to be mocked--albeit gently. Thx again!
I will always love Teri Garr.
So sad when you start to see her limping.
I turned 20 that day. Watched the show.
Teri and Dave had something that eventually was equalled only by Norm MacDonald (also with Conan), in which there was a constant tightrope walk over bombing that made every moment tense and magical. Teri and Norm were the best talk show guests I've ever seen.
And she was wonderful with Johnny Carson too.
In the 1992 appearances, you can notice her struggling a little bit as she walks out. Not trying to be a ghoul, just never realized how long she struggled to hide her MS.
It looked to me that her limp first became noticeable at the beginning of this Part, in 1990.
@@dongiller Yes and Dave clearly knows because of the way he races to the edge of the platform to help her make the step.
@@dongiller Also you can see even in 1990 that she only gestures with her left hand.
She noticed the first symptoms of MS in 1982...
You can see it in the April 1991 appearance. Dave literally had to help her to her chair.
Thanks for putting these together. Teri and Dave. What's better?
She has lovely legs.
- and, in 1990, those legs were 46 years old. Not bad, eh?
The thing is, she acts exactly the same wayin her movies. Somewhat adIed, confused and utterly charming.
Accidentally throws a lit match into my purse?! 😅
They knew how to have fun and we got to also.
Teri's thumbnail here is so adorable, if I was Dave or anyone else with the opportunity I would've found her irresistible.
Teri Garr❤️
You can see her MS catching up to her at the end but still gorgeous.
Just read Speedbumps (really good) and she said her hammer rage incident was in mid-November 1989. Her first appearance after that happened was the first one in this part. Anyone notice an attitude shift that continued?
And thanks a bunch for posting these Don!!
yep. its a shame. She later talked about it at one point, they did date. Get the feeling she could've gone forward with him but for whatever personal stuff they just couldn't work it out. Two very different ppl. Thanks so much for the nostalgia, i loved watching these through my college years. No one now really matches these very talented unique ppl that shaped pop culture. Copied, never to be duplicated.
Yes, it was as if all their fun quips and hilarious bantering just went by the wayside at that time. She's always been amusing though... I was just looking at a friend's photog book by Martin Sheen and there were some nice photos of her in there. This channel also has a Bonnie Hunt collection that's pretty funny, he's amazing to throw these together.
geez, she so cute beautiful and all of the above good g i love her so much
Dave had a real appreciation for beauty in a woman. And he had no problem showing it. He was respectful in doing so.
Awesome
Paul is so fast - he plays “Telephone Line” by ELO for dialing music
What a great husband and wife they
Could of been
I agree! It seems like there was some relationship there. Dave even says that he'd marry her in a second before one of her appearances.
He knew she was ill.and was.kind. She dated his.producer.
❤We love Teri ❤
Man, Terri Gar had something really special! She was the sexiest "girl next door". I miss her!
I had a long time crush for her. Wonderful woman.
She was always so cute and funny
when she bites her bottom lip.....yowza. Such a great woman inside and out. Love these interviews, thank for posting.
I love that Teri gives it back to Dave. It puts him on his back leg (so to speak).
What I think should be understood is that Dave loved it, too. He wanted the pushback. Made him step up his game.
It’s why he had her on the show so many times.
I agree.@@dongiller
In the first clip, those are Todd Rundgren's (my fav) backup singers (including Michele in the middle, who became his wife). I have to find what Todd sang on this show. Need a clip of that!
Todd wasn’t there; it was just Jenni Muldaur, Michelle Gray Rundgren, and Ashanti Sinnmon.
Just great
This has a couple of the best of Teri....compare to some of the other collections. More talkative than she once was.
By 1992/1993 the MS really starts showing when she walks.
You can see it in the April 1991 appearance. Dave literally had to help her to her chair.
Patronizing comment for anyone suffering with ms
@@sksk-ir5fo Not trying to be patronizing; I think it's interesting to track the progression of the disease.
@@abe_froman8360 Interesting for who? I don't mean to have a go at you but I as an Ms sufferer this is very patronizing! I know you probably don't mean any harm, but I am just saying it as it is!
I dated a woman very similar in looks and personality to Terri Garr a few years. I'm sure the initial attraction had much to do with my long-held crush on Terri. It took me a while to realize what it was about her that I liked so much.

I miss the top 10 lists.
She's the only cast member of "Young Frankenstein" still living. Mel Brooks is still living, But he wasn't in that one.
Your right. I just thought of that.
Gene Hackman is still alive.
@@foleynj86 True, but was initially uncredited. Mel also dubbed in a few sounds
I had a crush on her and dated girls that looked like her.
Some still date her from time to time, I'm sure, without her knowing of course.
Yes she should win awards for her hair
Love love love love......
Shandi Sinnamon, Michele Gray(Rundgren) and Jenni Muldaur backing up Paul and the band
I've got this far in the collection (segment 26) and am wondering if Dave or Terri is going to mention that she was in Star Trek.
2 purses and a dress caught on fire. LMAO.
Teri is the most interesting and beautiful woman.
Mesmerizing
@Konga 5000 If i had to work with the cast of friends (losers) i wouldnt seem like the nicest person either. Your comment is as stupid as it sounds.
@Konga 5000 well she wasn't married very long and I've never heard of her being in any other long-term relationships so one would assume that.
Love her
38:36 4th Wall Broken. Even the crew can't help but acknowledge it.
you can tell Dave is so in love
What a total babe of a sweet heart.
What a smokeshow she was, and her mannerisms....so cute. 😍😍
love teri garr...she is great.
She's so charming!
L.A. people go north for the summer 'cuz the climate calls for it! Kind of why I crave Palm Springs, CA from Oct. to April! * Cav in Oregon. *
Teri doesn't know it yet, but she's my girl. MS and everything.
I've loved Teri Garr since she appeared in star trek original series.
