      Ferrari and Bugatti do.
      I was referring to something else. Porsche now requires you to buy many lower end models before you could buy a higher end/exclusive model. Same as Ferrari. Lamborghini doesn't do that, for example.

      They are going to make the same amount of money with these units, because the vehicle is allocated to the dealership at a pre-specified price. What drives scarcity,.which may influence rarity and desire availability, is the number of units built. That won't change either.
      All they are doing is squeezing owners, to get as much money as they can.
      Other brands don't do that.
      So they are "exclusive" ... 🙄 ... only for the best people ... 🧐

    So many people get this buying a Porsche thing wrong. Porsche doesn’t care about selling cars. They do care about selling a very expensive and exclusive experience. And if you have enough money you can go for Porsche’s all-inclusive program including factory tour and delivery, shipment of your automobile to your country of residence, even shipping insurance. And don’t forget free cab fare from the airport to the Porsche factory and one hotel night is included! It’s an exclusive experience. Nothing more.

    Car manufacturers need to do what Tesla is doing. Sell directly to the customer and skip the dealership bs. It's a win/win. Dealers don't have to sell their cars at wholesale, and customers don't pay a dollar over sticker price.

      P.s. I’d take a “20 year old” viper in a heartbeat. I dig the hell out of them. The Porsche is definitely a better sports car, overall.

    The USA seems to be riddled with this problem to various degrees with almost all new cars nowadays. In Aus you need to have bought several (4 or 5) new Porsches from the same dealer before being offered a position to secure a 3RS allocation. If you’re allocated a car, there is no stipulation over price - simply pay for your build spec and receive your car. While I understand 992 3RS is limited to between 4000-5000 units it’s still blasphemous that these dealerships especially in USA get away with this at increasing rates. This has got to stop

      I dont know dude, how often will you use the speed from turbo s? Meanwhile gt3 rs handles like a track car and people who drive it on twisty roads absolutely fall in love with it.       tbh i love the gt3rs idek what spec id get it in but the turbo s is also better for daily use however the gt3rs is more of a weekend fun type car or to take to the track sometimes which is understandable how often id take it to the track but id still have one for the fun of it

    It's absolutely insane that the 3RS is now reselling for about what the 2RS has been reselling for since it came out a few years ago. I can only imagine what the new GT2RS will cost/resell for. 350-400k MSRP? Their cars have steadily been going way up in price. A 2012 Turbo S was about $150k give or take depending on options. A 2024 Turbo S is $250k

      Gt2rs arnt selling for 200k+. Anyone can walk into a dealership and order/buy one for sticker. Over the last 6 years Porsche has been building as many of their GT cars as they can sell. They’re not rare anymore unlike the 996 gt2rs or gt3 which were built in very small numbers unlike the recent GT cars.

    Generally that will be decided by the dealership. Anyhow, you can get "secondhand" ones for less than the buying plan costs. If you think it's a scam, just look at an AMG 1. Less than a tenth of a second faster than the Porsche on the Nurburgring, while objectively slower on many other circuits, it's also far less reliable, and costs wayyyy more, even if the Porsche is marked up!

    I turned down a GT3-RS at MSRP. Took a GT4-RS allocation instead. The GT3-RS is overpriced and ridiculous for the street.

    You’re wrong on so many levels. Yes the car needs a special buyer. Porsche isn’t just going to ala carte a car for you when they don’t know you. When they sell you the car it’s sold at MSRP + options if any. Only cars sold by 3rd party dealers or resold by Porsche as a CPO (Certified Pre-Owned) can they sell it for $200,000+ MSRP. You will also be black listed from Porsche if you sell your car within a certain timeframe of ownership. So yes, Porsche will hand pick people to buy their super rare limited edition #1 demanded car in their fleet. It’s not a base 911 where anyone can buy.

      Porsche doesn't require prior ownership or purchasing of other vehicles prior to getting a gt3RS. It's dealerships doing that.

      @@sutherlacd27 Its porsche vip list. You are no allocated a build unless you are on the list. The dealer does not control the list, however the dealer can influence the list by providing Porsche info on the buyer and why they should be on the vip list.
      And the dealer can add markup on the car to the vip customer.

    Price over MSRP is a US-thing.
    In Germany we pay MSRP.
    But yes, only selected long time customers get to buy one. And it’s their choice who they want to sell it to.

      The R34 was an outdated boat the day it came out, the supra wasn’t even the best of its own class. I’d take the lightweight RX-7 over both those garbage ass cars. The GT3 RS has the 5th fastest time on the Nurburgring and it’s in a completely different class and galaxy than the supra and r34. Absolutely stupid comparison.

    Most super car manufacturers will only sell you a car if you have already bought from them. Paying 200 000 over sticker price was not true when car went on sale. It just was that good that it was in demand and limited so would increase in price due to demand and supply. That's economics 101.

    Don't buy from Dealers. I got mine by walking into a shop. Dealers are pure evil. I use Dealers to try out the car I want to buy and then go elsewhere to buy it.

    The reason they do this is to ensure a balanced and uninflated secondary sale market.
    If I want to sell mine I have to give my dealer first right to buy it back.
    This is also called a relationship….
    Those who are not able to declare it as unfair…. I get what I want and the dealership manages the market accordingly. Think of it as playing and trading hotwheels with a big greedy brother who still kinda likes you…. Cause you get him pop tarts and stuff while he’s playing n he d for speed… but he still wants you to buy him lunch but then gets you cool pokemon that nobody else can get…

    It’s not the dealers fault, it’s the other buyers who bid up the price. The dealer knows they can get it. But because other people make the stupid decision to over pay, they pump up the market artificially. This is why the JZ Supra is $100,000, it’s also why R34 GTRs are selling for 100s of 1000s, e30 m3 is 100K and integra type Rs are 50K. None of these are are realistically worth anywhere near that. If people don’t buy it, prices will come down

    I used to listen to Benny Hinn as an adolescent being recently born again and seeking God fervently. I would even pray for him during my lengthy prayers. Listening to my dad read his books I was inspired by Bennys claims that he would pray for hours, like 10 hours at a time. I didnt have anybody tell me that that was abnormal so I would seek to do the same. Im thankful to God that He soon opened my eyes to who this person really is and nowadays there are plenty of exposes on him.

    Even if I buy a 911 Turbo S - a better choice - dealers abuse me on service. Tried to stick with repairs I don’t need. Feel abused every time. Better off buying a top of the line Honda Civic with manual gears. Way more fun, easier to maintain.

    The reason they do this is to avoid selling to resellers who just try to flip the cars for profit
    They want these cars to go to collectors.
    Porsches almost always appreciate in value, and resellers take advantage of this because they know people will pay no matter the price.
