    This vid helped me quickly change keyboard module for this beautiful machine - just uncsrew D's, then 2 keyboard screws on the back, take off the surrounding plastic and last 4 screws - on the top. All those people whining about anti static mats and proper philips screwdrivers - in this case you need a laboratory as well. There are far worse videos than this, this vid is ok. Thumbs up.

    Where can I find the screws that hold the thing together? What size are the ones on the bottom cover?

    A very good example of disasemble , but please be aware of ESD. That motherboad and eveything on it is pretty much screwed long term. Thanks Brian and others for pointing this out.

    There's a reason why they didn't give these things away when originally sold. Not only are they built like tanks, but very logically, yet sophisticated in design. The HP pavilion series might be labor intensive as well, but with HP there's no ryme or reason. You can remove a few screws on the Latitude to clean or replace a fan, cpu, ect. But on the HP pavilion for example, you would need to disassemble the whole thing just to clean the fan, let alone change it.

    Also, some screws are hidden by a warranty seal. It should be specified... Else it is not possible to open the laptop.

      Avanox I have taken the hard drive out of the e6420 before and noticed that you have to have to make sure the hard five actually plugs in when you put it in, I made that mistake not realizing there was a gap between the hard rice and the wall of the hard five slot, yes you can replace it with an sad, but you will have to clone the current hard dive onto the sad first

      @falldmg6306 Před 5 lety

      George you can use the exp gdc 8.0 beast to plug a graphics card into your computer, there are many tutorials on it, but if you use a high end gpu, it won’t use its full potential due to being bottlenecked by the cpu and because of the way it plugs into your computer, it is not an x16 slot on the adapter, so there will be some performance loss there

      No! Optiplex Precision & Latitude for life! The Inspiron is their consumer (AKA cheap junk) product line the former three are the better built (and easier to work on as well) business product lines.
      I love buying off lease office grade PC's. Don't worry I keep them for myself I don't put a video card in a sell it for an insane amount of $ as a "gaming PC" like other's like to do!

      No it's it's integrated into the processor you can attempt on find a way to attach a eternal graphics card which is possible but there will be less preformance compared to the cards actually ability

      @@auroravanhijden4844 my Latitude has a NVS5200 as an external graphics card but for some reason it stops working for a few seconds and starts again. i havent had this problem before so thats why tomorrow my and my father are going to be opening it to see what the problem is. I hope the GPU hasnt burnt out or something bad like that. maybe its some dust or bad connection. the Integrated one still does well but the game i like to play cant run on 50-70fps only does at like 25fps. It is possible to have a second GPU though but you cant use them at the same time, I don't think. Maybe its possible but idk

    Why not use a magnetic tip screwdriver instead of flipping the laptop up to remove screws. Not a good technician, makes no attempt to store any screws in a suitable container. Remind me not to let this guy repair my Dell e6420

    Good video but this is brutal !!! Cheap give away screwdriver... Why don't put a piece of cloth on the table? The top cover all gonna be scratched! Also, can not use metal to pry parts off of it, use old cut in pieces credit card if don't have plastic prying gadgets. Common, this laptop is gonna look like shit after you done with it! Use common sense!
