That game was painful, Michael was amazing but Jack was atrocious and Geoff despite being less awful made all the wrong decisions as usual lol.
Other hand props for Jack on the last game, had him been more confident near the end he might even have taken it.

I'm seeing Jack in this and all I can think about was when they played either this or 4 with Ray years ago, and Ray would instantly stop worrying about dying once he realized he was facing Jack. No bearing on Jack's current skill, just fond memories.
That was gears of war ray was trying to kill jack couldn't and just decided to leave the room and jack couldn't finish him

The thing with Halo feeling "slow" is that the maps were designed without sprinting in mind, so they're the size they need to be, and not artificially bigger.
That actually makes a lot of sense. But then again you have maps like blood gulch. But then again, it has vehicles

@@4x4offroad70 Blood Gulch is pretty big, but even if you walk you can run into another player pretty quickly, or at least get to a spot where you can shoot them.

I agree with Geoff here, Halo 3's lighting is so damn beautiful that it just constantly looks like a movie without having high polygon counts. I think it probably has the best lighting out of all the Halo games.

Man, this "slow" game was my entire life back in the day. Brings a tear to my eye. I love this game so much.
I grew up on this game as well; definitely seems slower here then I remember, feels a bit off to me. Maybe it's something to do with MCC, or the movement speed was accidentally set to 90% or something?
I feel the exact opposite when I played Halo 3 again after so long. I love it's pace, when you play online it actually feels really fast and so intense.
SkyBluesSteve Talking about the speed? I don’t see an issue either. It actually is a little annoying to keep hearing complaints about that. They are tons of games with the same exact pace.
Its all illusion really. Sprint is shit because all the maps are too big to make it worth implementing anyway.
Yeah lots of games had a similar pace, but also had a Sprint option, that's just why it feels so slow
That's crazy to me. Halo has always felt suuuuper slow to me, mostly because it looked so much like Tribes yet plays nothing like it. I was coming from Unreal Tournament and Quake when the first one launched though

They probably won't. Most of them dislike any Halo that isn't the 5th one.(If you couldn't use your ears for any of the Halo playthroughs) The only people that you would see doing a LASO again is Gavin/Jeremy. Jeremy likes the campaigns and Gavin likes Halo in general.
I loved this game for the slower paced PvP compared to other shooters. I guess some people disagree.
Those that disagree are simply wrong. Halo 3 is a far better game than both 4 and 5.
It's not even slower paced. Most of the maps in 5 are way bigger to accommodate sprint anyway. Midship being the best example. 5 only feels faster, sprint does nothing overall.

I prefer Reach speed to halo 3 4 and 5. Halo 3 feels like you have cinder blocks attached to Your feet and some of the maps are still really big. 4 and 5 did add sprint but the maps were just too huge. Reach was perfect at least for me
If I could only play one first person shooter for the rest of my life, it would be this game.

Just with less complaining about how slow it is. Like I know Jack loves COD zombies, but there is a reason why people hate how new Halo tries to be COD-Halo edition. People love old Halo because it is slow, and you have to think vs just twitch reflexes and instant respawns.

I disagree. I’ve never liked old halo multiplayer. It being too slow is a perfectly acceptable criticism.
@@David-kd4qr It's not trying to be CoD. The movement system was completely different from the CoD. Halo 5 isn't just twitch reflexes, you have to think just as much as any other halo game.

This is still my favourite FPS of all time. I played the shit out of this game when i was in middle school. I kind of like the slower gameplay as opposed to today's run into combat, get killed, wait a minute to respawn, type of gameplay. Those midair Banshee hijackings were a highlight of my childhood

I always love seeing AH play Halo. It brings back great memories from when I used to play with my friends, playing the campaign by myself or with friends, and even watching RvB. I replayed the entire Halo series at the beginning of the year and watching this makes me want to do it again. Sadly, I am in college and currently do not have my Xbox with me.

When they were talking about infection being the first one, really took me back. Because before this in Halo 2 it was a custom game you had to set up and start it with one guy on the green team and the rest on another team. And when you died you had to use the honor system and pause it and change teams to be on green team and you just would only use the sword.
It was my first real taste of an online community working together as a group just for the sake of fun and enjoyment. I loved that shit. Halo 2 will always be the best game to me because it was my first taste of online gaming. Great game.

I really hope 2 things. They play with Gus more often than once a year, and that they play Halo multiplayer more often. Every Halo multiplayer they do is like a trip down nostalgia avenue.

Lol they complain about everything that I love about Halo 3, no double jump no sprint, none of that extra shit just aiming. 2 was amazing but I think 3 had the best multiplayer.

Loved watching Michael kick ass, and was pleased with how close the Swat game was. Always good to hear Geoff and Gus together.
I prefer Halo 3's lack of sprint. Having to hold the sprint button down 99% of the time when you aren't shooting is a hassle.
If you want to move faster, you could always just increase your movement speed. It is a custom game, after all.
Or you know you could just not sprint and your problem is solved

That puts you at a constant movement speed disadvantage compared to other players in games which have sprinting; it's not a solution.

Halo 3 may "feel" slow, but map traversal is actually faster than Halo 4 and 5. In fact, when you're not sprinting, movement speed is slower in the new games. And when you're in combat you're not really gonna be sprinting...
Them complaining about how slow it feels hurts my soul. Classic gameplay needs to return in infinite. Honestly, this game actually feels so fast paced if you play it competitively.
Brenner Kirkpatrick I agree. This was the shit back in the day and me, my brother and friends would play it so much that we ended up going to tournaments.
I was just about to comment the literal exact same thing. Halo 3 having a constant movement speed makes the game much more methodical and enemy movement more predictable, since people aren't wildly sprinting around the map like insane people while searching for their next kill. Aside from allowing one player to catch up to another in a chase all sprinting does is *limit* your movement speed when you're not using it. It causes me physical pain that Rooster Teeth (or at least Achievement Hunter) prefer the new direction that Halo's been going, even when most of the fanbase is still on MCC anymore (I haven't fact checked this, but I know that I find matches waaaaay faster on MCC than Halo 5, even when only searching for one specific game). All that being said, I am totally fine with sprint as an armor ability since it's limited and you sacrifice other abilities to use it.

@@Deddshot Agreed. I wouldn't mind sprint in a more casual game mode like Big team on the larger maps. However I feel like the base game should be classic gameplay. Even campaign, haven't had a halo campaign in ages that feels like halo.
Deddshot like outside of 3 ppl (Michael Alfredo n somewhat Jeremy) AH is full of casual players, of course they like newer Halo movement, it makes you atleast feel like you do something when you die 15 times a game lol

I loved every minute of this! Reminded me of the old days of playing Halo with friends. The only thing that would've made it better would've been the in game sounds. Just seemed too quiet without them.

I remember when I first got MCC, I thought Halo 3 was bugged out with how slow it was. I was like, "It seems so mich slower than I remember!"
As a sweaty halo boy, this was pure bliss. CTF on Pit without the pit box with AR starts and radar. Just chaos honestly and it’s a nice breather from MLG v8 settings

I know you guys probably wont play Halo 3 again for a while if ever, but I figured id still offer a tip. You guys should definitely play with the Comp/MLG settings for the normal modes (Flag, Slayer/TDM, FFA, Oddball, King of the Hill). It might sound a little try hardish, but you would definitely find it more fun bcs it ups the movement speed by a lot so you wont feel so sluggish. It also disables the radar, but you can simply turn it back on in the settings since I know you guys enjoy it. It also ups the damage to reduce the randomness of bullet spread. Halo 3 is great, but the default settings have always been a bit rough around the edges even back in the day.
Honestly the best Let's Plays are the ones of them just simply playing the game and having fun

It's 5 AM and I'm drunk, so the conclusion is that, while sober, your video is great! While drunk, your video is very quiet.
And I mean in terms of audio-activity, not in terms of volume.
My first time with Gold was at my grandparent's house (Better internet and higher limit), when I activated a trial. It was a double exp in Living Dead... holy shit it was amazing. A week of Living Dead, Swat and Big Team Battle. Was on the ODST disc, so had access to all the maps. Had a few custom games, too. Fatboy was great.
Then it was back to the mountains with a 12gb limit, slow internet and while I did get gold permanently, it was like a half hour+ wait for decent connection games. Worth it.
Also the shieldless zombie mode is Brains. Speed Demons, too, I think.
