    Would you buy a pre-made barn door or DIY one?

      I may try a DIY door using french doors for a double opening. Not sure, at this point. Cheers!!

      Just watch the CZcams videos of people trying to make DIY doors. That will pretty much answer this question.

    Oh wow! I think these are so cool, especially if the door you are replacing doesn't give you enough room to really move around, my house doesn't have any doors that are in the way, and the one door I had in my bedroom that is where it leads into the bathroom, I just took it down and put up a door curtain and it's the main bathroom so I can shut the other door and the bedroom door to give myself privacy when using it. But when I redesign my carport into a little cottage, I might have a barn door inside. Thanks for a great video and so glad you had the extra help it turned out really cool. Sending love and hugs, bye for now.🥰💜

    Great video tks ! and just in case you hadn't thought about it ... you can get some white screw caps at your local hardware store and this will hide the black screw heads.

    Great video! I saw them today and will be going back tomorrow to buy two. Can these doors be painted?

    I struggle with an inward swinging door that butts up with another inward door to get from my garage to inside the house. This would be the perfect fix!

    I can't tell from the video, but did you all screw the lag bolts that hold the metal bar in place, into the studs in the wall?

    Great video, thanks! I also bought this barn door, and I agree - instructions aren't great. Here's my dumb question: I'm assuming that the black rail needs to be lined up with the studs as well, seeing as it is holding the door up? Did you screw those big lag bolts in between the smaller screws that were used for the header board, so that they were all screwed into the studs? Thanks!!

      @MotherDaughterProjectsDIY  Před 2 lety

      The black rail doesn't line up with studs, that's why you use the white header board. The white board is secured into studs, then the rail is secured to the while board. Our DIY barn door video might help explain this better: czcams.com/video/isP88Wb53TQ/video.html

    My mother in law just bought this door. Of course I get the call ti install it. Did the door come with the header board as well? Or am I taking a trip to the local home depot...?

    Is the door particle board or hallow? I am looking at buying this door and I wanted to know what it was made of. We are hoping it will help with sound reduction.

    What is the drill bit you’re using to fasten the screws onto the header board?

    do you happen to know the height of the door with the hardware attached to the top? i want to pick one of these up but have had issues in the past with barn doors because my ceilings are a little shorter than average

    • @MotherDaughterProjectsDIY
      @MotherDaughterProjectsDIY  Před 2 lety

      Approximately 89 1/2 inches from floor to top of barn door hardware.

    • @kimgeegee
      @kimgeegee Před 2 lety

      Plan for an addition 5” clearance above the top of the hardware. With hardware it is 89 1/2”. So 93-94 is minimum ceiling height. This is NOT mentioned in the instructions. Found out the hard way but did what these women suggested - assemble door hardware first and check for clearances. BTW, repacking this for return was more time than the set up and check. This will not work in seven foot ceiling spaces, this many mobile homes and older cabins may not be workable locations.

    Where is the header board location?

  • @CarolinaRealEstateGuide

    The instructions that come with this are horrible. Was hoping you guys had more detail of the install.
