Gosh, what a beautiful country...
Taking on an apprentice is a great thing to do
Rupert (7) loves your new cows.
😁 good man Rupert
Very nice cows hope they do well for you its nice how even with you and your dad being so busy you can still find time to spend with the kids👍
Cannae get the staff , wee shame 👍🏻🏴🚜
I have a photo of Henry Tompson’s first triple decker float built by Clarck and Sutherland smiddy at kingswells
Hope the cows 🐄 are good and productive for the farm. Great to see three generations at work in the New Cow Palace.😊
Best of luck with the new cows. That long sheeted swinging door. suggesting putting a wheel on it. would take you out if wind got hold of it.
Another great video, good to see wee Freddie trying to help. Give him another ten or twelve years and he’ll be gaffering you.
If you take on someone else does that mean the gatelady can retire?.
Well-done Freddie helping uncle Crawford
Great video Crawford. Enjoyed watching 👍🏼
Cracking video as always
Great coos uncle Crawford! You can't beat a simmental for rearing a calf....they looked a bit hungry after their ordeal at the mart!....sheds filling up
Lovely cows there hope they are lucky 🍀 for you
Nice coos and Nice to c the🌞
Happy Days Crawford 😉
Oh with that look at the truck Freddie might want to be a lorry driver, or own his own haulage firm with the help of uncle Crawford.
Cracking one Crawford new coos look healthy . You got your helper again
Good looking cows. Always liked Simmentals; just didn't always appreciate their caving rates, but they appear to have improved over the last 30 years
Very tidy farm, you have utilised the old buildings. Gates and handling good. a good beef unit.
Great video Crawford I hope the new coos as you would say do well for you ☘️👌
That’s a grand looking bunch of cows, only one thing wrong there not black!!!! Keep the young fellow keen for future apprentice! Have not heard from gate lady for a while. You should invest in some herding stick/paddles like Joe Seels got.
Freddie should have his own channel😊
The new cows are looking even better in you're new shed than the did in the mart
With all the moving of the cows some could calve a bit sooner over at JM farming after a tb test i think it was 2 calved the day after the test couple of weeks early
Really enjoyed the video as always looking forward to the next one
Very fit cattle Crawford , should do well .
A great video
it's nice to see a Yorkshire company in Scotland the cattle trailer who bought your cows to your farm it's plowmans who my dad used to drive for when plowmans had wagons
Great content as always. Your videos are always very enjoyable to watch. And unlike the comment below I think you definitely care and treat your cattle well 👍
Another great video and good looking purchase of cows but still plenty space in the shed 😛. Think your needing a rubber mat to put down for unloading cattle as you don’t want a cow going down just at the back door of the trailer
Can’t beat the Simmy cow!!
Shovel with sides, lol, he tried so hard
Good music, though I'm not a huge fan of it faded over all the clips.
At the mart one day cows coming off the truck one jumped clear off over the door broke back leg one word rubber mats when cows coming off the truck bolt them to the floor
👍🏼 yeh need to change that, not ideal.
well bai
Looks like you needed a gate parralel with the lorry to keep them going straight while on the ramp, so they only turn ones they are on the flat.
Hope you are paying your apprentice the going rate 😀
1 biscuit per session of help
Good strong cows you have bought. Hopefully they do really well for you.
Is getting new cows as exciting as a new tractor?

Vous avez une très belle étable
Can I ask you what your mix/ratio is and minerals use to feed your stock. They do well off it and fancy giving it a go instead of buying in.
cattle for butchery are on bruised barley & rape seed meal, 5-1 ratio. + 1 bag beef minerals per ton of barley. I'm sure you will know but need slowly brought up to ad lib to avoid acidosis. tend to creep them add lib in the field early as they only nibble. then when weaned and brought in, build them up to ad lib
@@CrawfordsFarm1 thanks for that 👍
You will have to start feeding your dogs, theyre munchin on the tatties
Hello my friend i have just found your channel. What breed are your cows?
Pretty much all Simmental cross
@@CrawfordsFarm1 thank you my friend
Crawford, what with the new shed, are you rethinking locations of supplies and equipment yet?
Such as?
@@CrawfordsFarm1 Hard to say, if you’re happy with the way things are, or as mentioned, still awaiting gates and other bits before sorting things to your satisfaction.
Mostly fine i think, small tweaks
@@CrawfordsFarm1 Speaks well for planning things out beforehand.
Ok dumb question what is APP ?? butcher ???
My understanding, and please someone correct me if I'm wrong, is that these cows will be going to a butcher and their meat going into public markets. Crawford's family also has their own store/cafe with their own butcher shop. These cows' meat will not be returning to the farm.
First
Nae tattie graip about the place?
Somewhere…. That was the closest thing
I´m surprised, the way in which you talk about your animals is more like a slaughter man than a farmer, you should take a leaf out of Joe Seels book!
What are you on about
Not used to Scottish way of saying beast I guess?
@@CrawfordsFarm1when are the 3 mummy 🐑🐑🐑 coming back
Must not… the odd nutter cow my inner slaughter man does come out 😅
I worked on a farm as a boy (miller's west lothian Crawford) scottish farmers have always referred to cows as beasts farmers like Crawford have more animal husbandry and care wellbeing than I ever thought would be possible it has came miles since the 90s and works both ways they are better looked after in turn means better productivity he knows the line they are commodity not pets but still respets the ones in his care in turn feeding the population thanks Crawford 😊
