In this video I detail my amazing $300 solo dinner at Vic & Anthony’s, which is located inside Golden Nugget Casino & Hotel in Las Vegas, NV. Purportedly, Vic & Anthony’s, which is owned by the world-famous Landy’s group, is regarded at a Top 10 Steakhouse in America. My entire experience, from the decor, to the drinks, appetizers, and of course, the steaks, is detailed in this video.
Voted one of the top steakhouses & located in the Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino, Vic & Anthony’s Las Vegas is the ideal place to enjoy fine steakhouse dining. Featuring only the best ingredients, the menu offers USDA Prime Midwest grain fed beef, savory appetizers, fresh seafood, decadent desserts and an exquisite wine. Join us for cocktails in the lounge starting at 5 PM daily or check with us often to see our monthly wine dinners.

Holy hell. Nolets Reserve Negroni with Carpano Antica. Absolute class of a cocktail that must have been.
Try a Bijou if you're feeling a spirit forward Gin cocktail. Gin, Sweet Vermouth, and sub the Campari for Green Chartreuse. takes it in a differrent direction from a negroni that I love.

The vibe and decor at Vic's is perfect for a steakhouse. I really enjoyed it. Even more than Jean George's, which is excellent. My favorite probably still Prime at Bellagio for the view and Sinatra vibes.

I ate here Saturday night a couple of weeks ago for my first time and I thought it was a beautiful place visually, I had the crab cake appetizer which I thought was amazing - nothing like the Maryland crab cakes I am more familiar with but it was perfectly seasoned and huge chunks of crab meat made it a delicious beginning. I also ordered the ribeye medium. it came out a perfect med rare which is what i was hoping for as places tend to undercook - no texas candy just a HUGE side of broccoli and sea salt fries. Paired it with a glass of merlot and it was probably the best steak I have had that wasn't sous vide. Top 3 in Vegas in my book idk about in the country

Had dinner there a few week ago (June 2024) and the Ribeye (medium rare), the buttered mushrooms, and the smashed potatoes, are one of the best I ever tasted (I travel a lot in the US and Internationally), and they have one of the largest wine selection I ever see. You can not see a better quality-environment-price relation. Do no hesitate to pay them a visit. Reserve with anticipation, they are almost full on weekends, and are very strict with the reservation times.

I would like to know if you have reviewed the Golden Steer in Vegas? If not that would be a good one to get your feedback on. We always go every time we are in Vegas. It is very old school and we were very apprehensive when looking at it from the outside but wholly crap where we surprised. We have been to many of the same places and this is right up there in my opinion. Great cocktail list and hands down the best tableside preparation of a Caesar salad, chateaubriand carved tableside for two and tableside bananas foster you will ever have.

Negroni aficionado here. Nolet's Reserve price varies wildly. At consumer level pricing I've seen it as high as 500 a bottle. However, at whole sale it could run 150-200 a bottle. There isn't anything super special about Antica Carpano vermouth other than it's just a quality vermouth. That typically runs about 30 a bottle give or take. Campari is Campari, you either love it or hate it, their really isn't an in between. Gold leaf probably added 20-30 bucks to that drink but to be honest I wouldn't put Nolet's in a Negroni. Personally I would think it's botanical qualities would be wasted once you mix it with such a powerful companion like Campari. Personally I think the best gin for Negroni's is Hendrix. It's not as floral as other gins but it still has good qualities and let's face it, one you start mixing a high end liquor with 2-3 other ingredients everything gets lost in the shuffle. Long rant here lol, but Hendrix, a good dry vermouth, Campari in equal amounts, stirred on ice, never shaken and poured over one big rock with an orange peel is the way to drink it.

That looked like a really good meal. Yet one more reason for me to find my way downtown on a future trip to Vegas.
And regarding Negroni, I'm not a huge fan of Campari, so when I order a Negroni I tend to get one with Cappaletti (l find it less astringent/bitter than Campari) instead. Or, if I want to go with more of a variation on the traditional Negroni, I make one with equal parts Bols Genever (a gin like spirit that is distilled from a grain like malted barley, rye or corn and can only be made in the Netherlands, Belgium and parts of France and Germany), Punt e Mes Vermouth (a great bitter-sweet Italian vermouth) and Cynar (an amaro made using artichokes, among other ingredients).
And speaking of best steakhouses in the US, I just found one of your older videos where you visited Manny's. I'd love to see you do a Minneapolis steakhouse series ranking the best ones in town and how they compare to other steakhouses you've been to (I've only been to local ones and a couple in Vegas and so far, Manny's is still my #1)

Been bartending for 20 years. The reason this was the best Negroni you have ever had was because of the sweet vermouth. Carpano anitca is the quintessential high end vermouth for this type of drink. Nolets gin isn’t bad, but there are better options. I would recommend you try a cocktail called a boulevardier.
