Let me give you some info on this incredible trio and event: • Igor Krutoy, the pianist, is there as an overall lead because the event is built for him: this is his birthday event that he organized with all his favorite artists, the ones that he is used to collaborate with and the songs he has composed • This is not the first time that Lara sings this song (composed by Igor) in trio but the third time: she performed in the original version with Dmitri Hvorostovsky and Alina Yaroyava then again later with Dmitriy and Sumi Jo, before this new trio with Dimash and Aida. The song was composed from day one with her voice in mind. She has been collaborating with Igor for more than 10 years and he has told from her that she is “the best singer and the best songwriter he has ever worked with” • This also explains why the song does not expose more of Dimash’s upper register: it was written for the late Dmitri who was a pure baryton. • Lara was very very sick that day, with fever and strong medication but she is skilled enough to have made it unnoticeable • Also, like Dimash, and even if the song was composed that way with her in mind, Lara does not sing in her real « comfort zone »: she is, as Aida, a lyrical soprano but here she plays the role in the trio of a mezzo-soprano and takes the median register. It requires a lot of voice control to not interfere with Aida’s high note and does not allow her to really shine. Aida is on the short list of best female opera singers in the world. Dimash and Aida do a duet at this very same event, the song is called "Ulisse". I highly recommend you give it a listen.
This was a 65th birthday concert for Igor Krutoy. Also on the concert was Andre Bocelli. These performers are Igor's favorites to collaborate with and bringing them together was an amazing feat. You wouldn't know it by the performance but Lara was extremely ill and heavily medicated during all of this. The skaters were some of Russia's top professional and Olympic skaters.
Lara is a very well trained classical singer. She could have become more opera focused but she found her style in a more pop oriented arena. She has done more operatic or what was called "classical" singing, in many performances. She was conservatory trained for ten years in her early days and certainly could have chosen any type of genre she desired. As far as vocal technique Lara has perfected her voice to a degree that is unsurpassed in most singers. She can sing anything!

This was a full concert with multiple performers including Andrea Bocelli for Igor Krutoy's birthday gala. All of the songs performed were his compositions and/or performers he has worked with over the years. You took an awfully long time just simply to say that Lara Fabian sings in a more pop style and it's generally not considered a classical singer. It has been widely speculated that she did not rise to her popularity as strongly early on on because she was seen as competition for Celine Dion due to their similar vocal prowess.

Lara has had classical training also, but I believe it was a conscious decision to sing in the more popular style (possibly to distinguish the characters of Aida and Lara). Lara has performed this trio historically twice with the late Dimitri Hvorovstovsky with the soprano being recorded once by Sumi Jo and another time with Alina Yaravoya. This is among Igor’s favourites and this was part of a lovely spectacular for Igor’s birthday. There are other performances including a duet with Dimash and Aida, but Lara was horribly sick during this concert. Notable performances from this concert A Question of Honour, Ulisse among others. He is a famous Ukrainian and Russian music composer, performer, producer, and musical promoter, who has composed music for and performed with renowned singers in classical and contemporary music, such as Anna Netrebko, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Aida Garifullina, Andrea Bocelli, Lara Fabian, Alla Pugacheva, Irina Allegrova, and others. I wonder if you could speak to that, I've noticed with a number of singers, especially Dimash, that when he holds a really long note, he seems to take a rather small breath....but maybe it just looks that way? And in this performance I don't see any big breath being taken....I've heard Renee Fleming in Master classes talk about really getting in a huge breath...but DQ every time he holds a long nonhuman note, I never see a big breath at all!!
This was Igor Krutoy's 65th birthday celebration, so he chose the guests. Dimash and Aida also did a duet in this program. I understand Lara was a bit under the weather. Andrea Boccelli was also in the program, and I think Dimash did one or two solos with choir.
Lara isn’t singing in a classical tone: one because she’s not a classical singer. Two, because this is an old piece that Igor wrote for two classical singers, and one popular singer, female. He wrote this part, especially for Lara, which is why she did it that way.

It was a choice for Lara IMO. Her version of Caruso is about as classical sounding as it gets. I think this is supposed to be a son and his fiance, and his mother type song, but I could be wrong because I don't speak Italian. That's why I think the mother role is less demanding. How could you not know that Igor Krutoy did not write this famous Italian aria or have never heard of Aida Garifullini, one of Opera‘s leading lights? I think more ground work on your part is necessary before you try anymore reaction videos. ?
Why are you so rude and unkind? I can't fathom why you would post something like this is reaction to such a positive and lovely review video. If you can't say something nice, it is always better to say nothing than to be unkind.
Some reactors like to do their reactions based on what they experience without any background or reference. I think there is a benefit to that approach because if a performance can affect you emotionally without any prior information the impact can make a very honest and interesting review.
I too did not know he did not write it. And unless I am very much mistaken, you're wrong, because all the evidence I've ever found online says he did. If you're right, then how about just saying Igor did not compose it, and provide evidence? Right or wrong, I think more practice on your part with humility, English, and kindness, is necessary before you try writing any more rude comments!

This was a full concert with multiple performers including Andrea Bocelli for Igor Krutoy's birthday gala. All of the songs performed were his compositions and/or performers he has worked with over the years.
You took an awfully long time just simply to say that Lara Fabian sings in a more pop style and it's generally not considered a classical singer.
It has been widely speculated that she did not rise to her popularity as strongly early on on because she was seen as competition for Celine Dion due to their similar vocal prowess.

Igor invited his friends singers, musicians, skaters. Lara has had classical training also, but I believe it was a conscious decision to sing in the more popular style (possibly to distinguish the characters of Aida and Lara). Lara has performed this trio historically twice with the late Dimitri Hvorovstovsky with the soprano being recorded once by Sumi Jo and another time with Alina Yaravoya. This is among Igor’s favourites and this was part of a lovely spectacular for Igor’s birthday. There are other performances including a duet with Dimash and Aida, but Lara was horribly sick during this concert. Notable performances from this concert A Question of Honour, Ulisse among others. You already know Igor Krutoy is the man at the piano who frequently accompanies Dimash. He is a famous Ukrainian and Russian music composer, performer, producer, and musical promoter, who has composed music for and performed with renowned singers in classical and contemporary music, such as Anna Netrebko, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Aida Garifullina, Andrea Bocelli, Lara Fabian, Alla Pugacheva, Irina Allegrova, and others. He ended his retirement after watching one of Dimash's performances so that he could compose music that only someone with Dimash's vocal ability could sing, such as I Miss You, Ogni Pietra, Your Love, Passione, Ave Maria, Stranger, just to name a few.
You are already familiar with Lara Fabian. Aida Garifullina is a Russian lyric soprano of Tatar origin and in 2013 started performing at the Mariinsky Theatre, in St. Petersburg. That same year, she took first place in Plácido Domingo’s world-renowned, prestigious International Opera Singers Competition "Operalia" in Verona. That led to an offer to join the Vienna State Opera, as well as to a contract with well-known British record label, Decca Classics. Since then, Aida Garifullina has been the voice of the Vienna State Opera. She regularly gives recitals in Vienna and London and appears in joint concerts with opera's greatest stars all over the world. Her performance with Dimash of "Ulisse" from the same concert is also incredible.

Thank you very much for your reaction. Lara Fabian explained why she is in outerwear. She caught a bad cold the day before, but decided not to cancel the performance out of respect for her maestro Igor Krutoy, the author of her many famous songs.
Igor is certainly the composer and arranger of many of LARA 's later melodies, but they worked closely on the composition and wording.

I wonder if you could speak to that, I've noticed with a number of singers, especially Dimash, that when he holds a really long note, he seems to take a rather small breath....but maybe it just looks that way? And in this performance I don't see any big breath being taken....I've heard Renee Fleming in Master classes talk about really getting in a huge breath...but DQ every time he holds a long nonhuman note, I never see a big breath at all!!
This was Igor Krutoy's 65th birthday celebration, so he chose the guests. Dimash and Aida also did a duet in this program. I understand Lara was a bit under the weather. Andrea Boccelli was also in the program, and I think Dimash did one or two solos with choir.
The three of them sing for the music, not for their individual egos.

Lara isn’t singing in a classical tone: one because she’s not a classical singer. Two, because this is an old piece that Igor wrote for two classical singers, and one popular singer, female. He wrote this part, especially for Lara, which is why she did it that way.

Lara has sung this duet many times before with the Russian tenor Dimitri H. Aida is a diva at one of the world's reknown opera houses in Vienna. It was a choice for Lara IMO. Her version of Caruso is about as classical sounding as it gets. I think this is supposed to be a son and his fiance, and his mother type song, but I could be wrong because I don't speak Italian. That's why I think the mother role is less demanding. How could you not know that Igor Krutoy did not write this famous Italian aria or have never heard of Aida Garifullini, one of Opera‘s leading lights? I think more ground work on your part is necessary before you try anymore reaction videos.

Why are you so rude and unkind? I can't fathom why you would post something like this is reaction to such a positive and lovely review video. If you can't say something nice, it is always better to say nothing than to be unkind.
Some reactors like to do their reactions based on what they experience without any background or reference. I think there is a benefit to that approach because if a performance can affect you emotionally without any prior information the impact can make a very honest and interesting review.

I too did not know he did not write it. And unless I am very much mistaken, you're wrong, because all the evidence I've ever found online says he did. If you're right, then how about just saying Igor did not compose it, and provide evidence? Right or wrong, I think more practice on your part with humility, English, and kindness, is necessary before you try writing any more rude comments!
