Thats literally my hometown :L livedd there 12 years, but im living in Arizona now (8 years since). Every summer break I go back. Luckily Mazatlan is not as dangerous as other cities. You needed a guide! Btw the best Sushi I have ever tasted has been in Mazatlan, the place is called Yoko. :)
I think you're gunna love the Taverns in Merida that's also in Mexico. In Spanish it's called cenotes which is like caves with sweet water and one can scuba dive there, the locations there are not only beautiful but it's also great prices, especially with the dollar being around 17-18 pesos currently. You should check the caves out! Great video!
