- Axl Rose gave a special appearance as a guest of Sir David Tang at China Exchange in London. Following the usual "60 minutes with..." format, part of the Prudential Series, Axl answered questions from the audience.
Topics included: vocal coaching; aspirations to write a soundtrack; advice for young bands in finding an approach to suit them in the music industry; the vocal gymnastics required to sing for AC/DC; the current relationships within Guns n' Roses; and the story of how Axl ended up using Dave Grohl's rock throne.
This live, public talk and Q&A was recorded at China Exchange in Chinatown, London, UK on 7 June 2016. The talk was hosted by China Exchange Chairman Sir David Tang.

It might sound weird but I`m so happy Axl is alive and healthy. After the death of David Bowie, Prince, Joe Cocker and good old Michael Jackson, I'm so happy and grateful Axl is alive and healthy.
I still can't believe I was there! Front row directly in front of Axl! Had a long conversation with him afterwards which started with him saying he liked my watch! And got a picture with him🤘 #Legend
Axl needs to write a book. He's an intelligent guy and all the GnR guys (except Izzy) wrote one (Duff wrote a couple.) I want to read it. Get on that, Axl!
Axl is the Absolute Coolest and Most Amazing Singer/Rockstar EVER.
Axl looks so fantastic here, he is back on form and as sweet and funny as always. I think he has been so misunderstood over the years. His stopping shows to call out bullies and fights shows me he sees injustice and needs to do something about that. I also feel people forget that an onstage persona is not necessarily the man! or what the media, off of the back of that want to perceive him to be. All I've ever seen of him off stage is an intelligent, talented and very self assured human being with drive and a force where others would have failed, folded or dried up. Great to see him in his element again after all of this time.

A very mature, down to earth person. You can feel his good karma. I think that's one of many reasons he's having a very successful time right now.

Axl seems to be the same gentle man that I met, backstage, when he performed in London. He suffered, a great deal, with very personal issues and has come so far. That gentle voice I still hear in this interview. He is a proper gentleman in every different way. Love you Axl.....keep the chain....:-)
I've already watched this five times. I'd love if this was four hours cause I never get tired of hearing Axl talk. He's a great sense of humour and his answers are always very interesting
axl is an amazing person. i really admire him, he has such a inner strength, he has been through a lot, he has fought his demons ( like all uf us) but i just happen to like him a lot and fell a connection i cant even explain. to me he is the same man, just more wise! ( just see his past interviews) same charming, gorgeous ,relaxed man. keep it up the good work axl, we fans, like to see you around! and bring some gnr music!!

Awesome, love hearing Axl talk about his life. He's kind of an enigma these days since he's been out of the public spotlight for so long now. He's been killing it on tour and is such a big vocal inspiration for me.
in 1987 I was living in a house in spring Valley CA, and we were having a party with a live band was playing in our backyard, can't remember their name, but I came in the house to sit in the living room a little while because at the time my son was 2 years old and the doorbell rang and it was Axl and Slash we had dates and at home the door and let them in and show them to the back where the party was going on and I was in absolute shock as I had just had previously had just listen to Welcome to the Jungle and Sweet Child of Mine For the First Time and I knew that it was damn Guns N Roses
One of the best interviews with Axl Rose so far!
I was pleased to see the host bring up the topic of Axl's lyric writing because Axl is one of the most underrated lyricists out there. His writing abilities are both spectacular and overlooked. Everyone knows Axl for being one of the all time greatest frontmen & onstage performers in rock history; for being the best prototypical example of what a rock star should be; for his great voice/singing talent; and of course for being unstable and in the tabloids frequently. However, it is perhaps true that his best talent-lyric writing-is the one aspect he isn't recognized for possessing, oddly enough.
If I was in this British audience here the only question I would've asked him would be to explain what the hell the "Don't Cry" video is about.

You wont ever in a day ever see that pen nor the Jacket he kindly signed for my son,on Ebay or even a cold day in hell on any other selling site. Will still be with i when im an old man, remembering back the day i finally met my childhood(& only) hero Axl Rose. What a great guy :-)

Axl is great. I really respect his work and approach to things. My first concert was Guns opening for Alice Cooper in 87'. I had the album (cassette tape) Appetite For Destruction months before the rest of the world finally caught up to how excellent it was and is. Still my favorite album to this day. Viva Axl Rose and Guns-N-Fucking Roses!

30:01 Makes me wonder what parts in Slash's book were apparently either fabricated or stretching the truth hmmm..
There were a lot of parts in the book that I thought might have been far-fetched. Still a great read though
he's probably referring to the whole fiasco on how he got the rights for the band name and all of that. that was always a point of contention and Axl has called out Slash in the past because they both have different recollections or different sides to that story
