I so enjoy your teachings and your encouragement for beginners. You said you clip fast relying on many years of experience. you’re in the “zone” almost like meditation. The atmosphere around your home is so full of the chirping of birds! It’s like background music. So wonderful!

I've been watching your videos all day and picked up many tips for my journey with my first ficus. But more than that it's brought me great joy to see how you work and love these trees in a fast paced and bland world, thank you sir.

I know with trees that go dormant you end up with sticks in the winter. A reason I don’t care to own them. I have a hard time trimming them when there is no leaves on them, I just don’t see the tree with out the leaves. I actually just bought my first, a cherry tree. It has good bones about 12” and a thick trunk. I’ll be growing it out for a few years. I’m also looking for a red maple now but after I pick up four large jades I found. Massive trunks about 4’ tall. I’m excited about starting their training. Thanks for the great videos.

I would love to see a demo on windswept design. I have a blue star juniper I dug out of my yard and it has naturally leaned toward the sun and I'd like to take advantage of the lean and directional growth. I just need to understand the principals of windswept design.

I have a Zelkova. Very weak growth after putting it in a pot. So frustrating.

Nice looking trees. You must have a great wife for her to be willing to lug a tree through the airports for you.

I like your videos but the "stock" you work on is always very old and huge. The average Bonsai enthusiast could only dream about the size of trees you work on. I may have end up with trees that size if I live to be 150 years old but in general stock like this is in fantasy land.

Yes, I understand :) That's why I recently did a video on how to work with small (shohin) bonsai. If you have time, please check it out: czcams.com/video/Em_49GDbb6w/video.html
