Every time I see the Halloween Quaker I think I need to stitch it. You are really coming along. It’s your librarian brain that requires you to make up backstories. I taught elementary school and tend to do the same thing.

I was stitching while I watched this morning. My daughter is decorating at school for homecoming and my husband is hiking (I’m sidelined by a heel issue at the moment). Love seeing your projects and book recommendations. I was a first grade teacher and reading teacher but taking classes to renew my license this fall. I still love reading children’s books and sometimes think I should have been a librarian. Connecting children with great books is one of my favorite things!

Hey Laurel!!! So excited to see you on FlossTube!! ….. I have been a cross stitcher since 1995 and an elementary school librarian for the past 36 1/2 years I am starting my 37 1/2 year this year!!! I am located in Pennsylvania. I love your idea of showing your cross-stitch and then giving the book talks!! I thought about doing the same thing starting a FlossTube and talking about children’s books…… Great minds think alike!! Everything you talk about in terms of the library and starting the school year and getting routines established all that I totally can connect with along with the cross stitching also of course…. Your FlossTubes are a breath of fresh air I will continue to watch and also understand if you’re not able to post often with the kind of job you have I totally understand😊😊😊. Have a great school year hope to see more of your videos soon

Hi Laurel! I record my intro once. Usually about a minutes worth. I watch it to make sure I am looking at my viewers and that the letters on my pieces are not backwards. I delete that and start. I volunteer at an animal shelter and they all love the cat beds! It's funny that they all have their favorites 😍 You have made quite a bit of progress on your pieces! Love the shepherdess! I love the concept "just fill it in"! I think changing it to gold and green would be nice. Love your story about the sheep. Not weird at all. You are a teacher and a wonderful one at that! I enjoy the book review. I was working on "All the Trimmings", Fat Quarter Shop. Have a wonderful week ♡

I totally have to record my intro at least 3 times before my brain kicks into gear and I finally get one that's usable😂 Poor little diarrhea cat, I totally can't unsee that now either😂 I really need to make it over to my LNS to pick out some more blue options for Autumn Alphabet, but I love seeing the bottom half stitched on yours! Your fabric is super pretty for that one! Have a great few weeks! Wishing you a smoother go than the first few days of school!

Laurel great video! I was stitching while watching. I am working on hands on designs cranberry christmas the merry design. The stain you had i just wanted to comment if you are using hand dyed fabric or threads they do not recommend washing because it could bleed. I used to work at our LNS and i saw a few disasters. I just think it was the fabric! I hope you have a great school year! thanks for sharing your love of needlework with us

I love your floss tubes. I especially like your book recommendations. I have 4 young children and am always looking for new books for them. I like to cross stitch and watch Flosstube. It’s so relaxing.

Hi Laurel, the project, Autumn Alphabet, I need to order 2 Gentle Arts floss for the project. Have you tried the tropical ocean color in place of bayberry? If you think it's works, I'll order it. I'm stitching mine on linen fabric wichelt, purple.
Hi Cynthia, I've gotten behind with stitching on it! :( I know Brijin the MuseumStitcher has been working on it too, but I don't think she has done the pumpkin. Someone said they stitched in Bayberry and it was fine. I was at my LNS on Saturday and picked up Gentle Arts Huckleberry to try just in case Tropical Ocean didn't work. Sorry I'm not more help! Purple sounds like a spooky choice of fabric. I will have to check out your progress when you are at that point!
