- This really made me happy! Now you can drag and drop track right onto a map inside the map editor. Then buy the train you want and it just works!

/rant: Pretty sure that Giants is going to sell this mod as a "feature" in one of the next Farmsim.... as they usually do, as modders have brought this title forward in multiple occasions over the past 15 years.. /rant over.

Giants is lazy. We've seen that multiple times in the past, look at seasons mod or even the pressure washer mod back in FS2013. Giants just keeps stealing whats already made and letting people do it first before doing it themselves to begin with

Former CSX conductor here, if you wanna make your layout more realistic i can tell you some things i learned from my experience out in the field and by the book, first is at crossings honk the horn in the 2 long 1 short and 1 long again or - - 0 - as its known, second is yards and industry tracks are limited to 10mph, crossovers leaving the yard are 15mph and regular crossovers are 25mph, engine and service tracks are 5mph, couple at 4mph or less (2mph is preferred), running the engine long hood forward (backwards) isn't preferred but is allowed, idk how the physics work with the cars but if your able to you can kick your cars with enough speed and clever decoupling timing, sidings should be pretty big to accommodate trains (though thats arguable...), there are 3 types of jobs, OTR (over the road or go from A to B), locals (serve industries near your home terminal), and yard switchers (switch cars to prepare the trains for departure), mixed freight is limited to 50mph, intermodal and autoracks are limited to 60mph, and passenger trains with a freight engine is limited to 70mph, certain cars can limit train speed too such as log cars and gondolas being 40mph and running light power (just the locomotive) is limited to 30mph, 4 axle locomotives are nowadays used for switching and locals (that being the SW1500 and GP38-2 and even though its a 6 axle the SD40-2 is also used (btw the dash 2 means its a rebuild of an older model) in the pack and but when i worked we used 6 axle locomotives for my yard, and 6 axle locomotives are used for OTR and Locals, and lastly when figuring out how far until you have to stop count down in car lengths not feet, a car length is 50ft. that's about all i got that would apply in the game, i have a lot of others for a MP thing that would apply. Hope this helps!
This is awesome! Thank you for the reply. The horn cadence is really interesting as are the speed limits. I can tell you anything over 10mph in the yard on the curve and I was out of control. Especially with a full load.
@@WithTheStovers Sounds about right, it is a farming game after all not a train focused game, also ive been updating that comment with new things ive been remembering.
This is far better than anything in any FS before it. The only thing similar was a script in 17, but it was never available to the public.
Really glad to hear. Did FS19 have anything like this? I've seen some videos. But most tutorials seem to be for adding a train in Giants Editor and not just a drag and drop placeable item.
@@WithTheStovers To my knowledge, nothing publicly released has ever allowed us to switch tracks or connect cars. Now there may have been a mod like this that I just didn't see, but I am mainly thinking of the GIANTS spline system which is incredibly limited and limiting. This is a gamechanger!

Locomotive wheelsets are called trucks. However they are called bogies in the UK. This is one fantastic mod set!
It’s EMD not EDM, and EMD is the Electro-Motive Division of General Motors, which is now owned by Caterpillar.
BN is Burlington Northern, which merged with Santa Fe in 1995 to form BNSF, which is Burlington Northern Santa Fe.

12:34 Well this is interesting... The P42DC is mine, the SD60M is mine, the C40-8, AC44C6M, and a bunch of others. I'll have to check this mod out, but a lot of the models came from the SketchUp 3D Warehouse (I've uploaded to an account called TRG, but I have a page for my higher detail models with my username too). This looks fun, I may do a couple of videos on it.

@WithTheStovers I don't know if you've seen my other posts but CSX and Northern Ohio & Western Railroad LLC runs through Northern Ohio. There are several others but these are the biggest.
I have waited a long time for this. I can't use Giants Editor so I've never been able to put a train anywhere. That is, until now!

As a big train nerd, they hit all the basic things! They could have added more rail and shipping companies, but they did get all the major ones. The only thing missing, is a railroad bridge to get over rivers.
I believe the modder has an update with bridges coming real soon

It’s EZ Dev. But Jweezy has an updated ez dev on his itch that you will need to download as it raises the weight limit you can carry.
to help you out a few things one if you are putting the cars or the locomotives on the tracks put them on a straight piece of track instead of a switch just to make it easier for you and for the names of the locomotives companies BNSF( Burlington Northern Santa Fe) BN( Burlington Northern) NS( you did get it right Norfolk Southern) CPKC( just the new version of Canadian Pacific but with their new merger with Kansas City Southern) ATSF(Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe AKA just Santa Fe) CSX (Chessie System and Seaboard Coast Line) the rest are as their names imply
Thank you very much. Putting the loco in the tracks on a straight section helped a ton. My Amtrak still tips over. But I think that may be because it’s so top heavy.
Hi with the stovers my question is the link you give is it a safe spot. Im working on a 4x map right now that i would love to have two different lines or maybe three or four to make it a more realistic gameplay plus do you know if vehicles can be placed on the flatbed and use them with the shipping container mod on giants modhub
Hi Timberwolflogging. Thanks for commenting. I’ve had great luck with itch.ion pages for modders. Obviously there is always some risk downloading files from the internet. So always good to be cautious. Yes, you can load things, containers, cars, etc into the train cars. I haven’t tested it yet but the grain cars and tank cars accept in game contents.

Hey man, if you're ever having trouble moving things by hand i highly recommend a mod called "precision hands". It lets you make fine adjustments to items in your hand, total game changer for stuff like this or other liftables
That is a really good suggestion. I hate now being able to accurately move things with super strength.
Lumberjack is a good mod too. That one allows you to adjust the weight you can lift without super strength, and also allows you the distance from which you can pick stuff up.

That would be cool. I’d also like to see some possible tunnels. I’m doing a diy tunnel right now that kind of works. But we really need a way, maybe in 25, to cut a hole in the map and control elevation angle of mods.

They should make the Chicago Fort Wayne and Eastern (CFE) Railroad locomotives for you to get, to match it.. Lol. They run through Convoy. Same with CSX, but they already have those. That'd be epic.

It kind of sucks, CSX owns the line but they themselves don't really run on it. It's leased to the CFE. CSX occasionally send a good old grain train to the East or west on the line, CFE does most of the stuff. Norfolk Southern did indeed use to run on it too but through trackage rights. Trackage rights are just an agreement between two companies with payment saying that they are allowed to run on the certain railroad. I don't know a whole lot about that.. Lol. Norfolk Southern stopped using the line and stopped paying to run on it back in 2019 or 2020, because the line was becoming not favorable for them. Something about the tracks not being in good enough condition I think. Scott Taipale, who is another railroad CZcamsr, got lots of their trains on camera before they stopped running. I did see three of their locomotives sitting on the same line back in late 2021 or so and someone got a video of them coming through last year.. So it really makes me wonder if they really did, unless those were just being used for extra power.

Thanks for the information. I agree the interiors aren't up to full sim standards. But I will tell you, the modder is extremely good and is open to feedback and making updates. So maybe we can get some better interiors in teh future. I'm just really happy to have the option of trains.

How do you get the locos and railcars to show up? Both are installed and enabled but I can't find them. The tracks are laid and working fine but can't find the loco's or railcars.
The rail cars and locos are actual vehicles. So you need to go into the store and buy them. That is why it is recommended to use “store deliveries” mod to have them spawn in right by the tracks.
@@WithTheStovers The in-game installed mods show that they are Installed but the ingame mods and dlc tab does not show that they are installed. I checked the brand folders and the J Wheezie folder which is not showing up in that section either. Yes I have the Store Delivery mod just no trains or railcars. I love the SP paint and was really looking forward that paint to service my factories.
Would be really cool if it included an off map sellpoint. I always thought no man's land should have a train to sell goods being in the middle of nowhere
Agreed. That would be great. I honestly think I can add a “sell all” point and put it under the track and sell directly from the hoppers.

From the looks of them the bigger ones are Diesel electric but the smaller ones look to be diesel mechanical hard to say on the smaller ones
Nice detail on the outside to the SD70ace but the cab interior is very inaccurate and wrong for the control stand

The wheels are called trucks and the engine and cars just sit on them the cars have a cradle that are upside down and sit on the trucks the wheels are not actually bolted or attached to the car/engine

PS: My favourite EMD diesel is the SD40-2,3.000 horsepower engine,AMAZING sound,and apparently,judging by its owners manual,which I have a PDF of it on my phone,its engine is a two-stroke (lititeraly dosen't sound like a two-stroke engine) V16 Turbo diesel engine,powering 2,if I remember correctly,traction motors,it has an 8 soeed throtle lever.

I got a few points to correct for ya (I'm EX-railfan, don't like 'em as much, but foamed most of my life, so I kinda know my stuff), the manufacture is EMD, Electro Motive Division (you can get away with calling it CAT now), they were an offshoot of General Motors, now owned by CAT under the new name Progress Rail. As for the other railroads, BNSF is a railroad out west, this is seconded by Union Pacific. Southern Pacific, was bought out by Union Pacific in 1993, Burlington Northern, and Santa Fe (ATSF) make up, you guessed it, BNSF, after BN bought out the ATSF after the failed SPSF (Southern Pacific Santa Fe) merger in the late 80's (Before the foamers get made, yes I'm aware that ATSF was bought out in 96', keep your pants on) Also, Convoy aint to far from me....I got CSX though...when it comes to liveries I'd prefer seeing, it'd be Southern Pacific, hands down, that and the horns of the SP(Southern Pacific) are not as harsh.

I agree. I would like to have some different horns. But the great thing is, the mod is out, now, if other modders wanted to they could improve on the existing models.
If it comes to console as an addon or a dlc I would be happy but I'm mad since it's only on pc & Mac I'm VERY UPSET

how the hell dose you game let you placed perfect i even use snap and it jumps to one side or other
Try using snapping to get it close and then turn snap off and do the final adjustment. It wasn’t easy at first but I’ve been experimenting a bit and it seems that it is a little more forgiving than I previously thought.

Go to JWeezys itch and download his super strength patch. It’s patched to allow you to pickup the locos.

😭😭 I wish Giants or the modder would do something like this for console players because you know how much more fun console players would have with maps and this mod or base game function if it was to come out for the new game or current game on console.
I understand the frustration. I think the modding community knows it would be very difficult to get an all platform mod through giants due to all the hoops you must jump through.

well one of these days the developer of any game will realize there was a need for model trian building simulator will you go about building your dream layout in virtual world.
Or we might see it in the next game 25 the ability to build your own railway in a map because I am getting tired of the natural circle or one way in and one way out.

How do you move the trains from the shop?
Hi. You will need to download JWeezy's update to EZ Dev that increases the lifting weight. You can also use Store Deliveries and have the trains spawn right by the track to save time.

No. I don’t know all my trains but there are many different options for carriers.
There is Amtrak, BNSF, CSX, Union Pacific, Norfolk Southern and Canadian pacific.

The train mods are all part of a package created by a modder for Farming Simulator 22
So I don’t have easy dev so I thought I’d pick it up there ain’t nothing in the game that can pick up a train car much less a locomotive looks like in on a hunt for a really big wheel loader or a crane
I think super strength will also work to pick it up. Maybe it's super human. But there is a mod hub mod that will allow you to do it.

Hi. You need to download JWeezys EZ dev update. It’s on his itch page as well. This update increases the maximum weight you can carry with super strength.

anyone can get the cars to unload?
