@@sp1es very true…. I think maybe I used the word “bug” a little loosely as the 200 figure will cover functional bugs as well as coding issues, day 6 into owning an ex30 plus extended, it is very Tesla but with some shortcomings but overall I like it, efficiency is probably my biggest concern….

I agree with you on that. Until they get as fast or faster than a human, it's not really useful. But the last few videos of that kind did show me there improvement over the years, so who knows 😊

I've noticed that when a Leaf with autopark comes up for sale, it always sells faster than regular Leafs (at least in the UK). So someone must use this function, and be actively looking for it..
the Tiguan in our family has Auto parking since 10 years. Nobody using it. But it works ok.
The car is so slow the spot will have been nabbed by the guy/gal behind!
I use it the two times a year I have to parallel park somewhere. Because I do it so rarely I am not very confident in my parking skills so I let the car do it for me.
The auto-park assistant has been designed by Audi engineers, that's why it doesn't use the blinkers.
I thought this is the speciality of BMW engineers!?
Why does it only show 226km at 99% SOC? Is the range that bad? Or is this the estimate based on recent driving?
The biggest issue for me, that basicly make it useless, is that it cancels as soon as you touch the brake pedal. Any other carmaker I have tested, by using the brake pedal you control the speed.
You don’t need to …the car assumes you are intervening. Which bit of don’t touch the pedals do you lot get?
@@markhamilton7289 I only want to slow down, to be in control of the speed. Simple as that.
The ex30 is the only EV out of those I have tested, that does not work this way.
I guess you telling me that every other manufacturer does it the wrong way and ex30 is the proper one?
@@Evans_Man it’s the same on my bmw . Any braking is considered intervention by the driver. Perhaps they use the same basic system . I know jlr products need the driver to brake etc

It doesn't surprise me at all that the auto parking does not detect the parkingslots that have no lines on both sides. After testdriving the #1 I saw the same behaviour with active lane keep assist: it will not work when there are no lines on the road
To someone who has never used autopark or seen anyone use it, that looks pretty good to me. Little slow, sure, but it does the job fine. I guess it could be useful in a tight scenario, but then again it is a small car so it should be quite easy to park yourself. The EX90 needs autopark more than this thing.

@@bjornnyland That's actually very impressive. Who would've thought Toyota would be good at this, in an otherwise not very competetive EV.
Might be worth timing how long it takes to park for common manoeuvres? Also for finding a parking spot, perhaps use a minimum speed for all cars that you test e.g. 10 mph?
At 5:22 the car left more space for driver to open the door.
When I tested later (still the same two Konas parked there), it parked more evenly.

You complain about things based on how it "feels" not on actual data (it feels slow compared to others, but you have no data to back this up). It feels like you already made up your mind on this one before you tested it.

Blink when you pcket parking? You dont have to blink then, its kinda visible. However you have to blink during parallell parking. At least in Sweden.
And yes it seems to miss non square parking slots, but either then that it looked secure and most of the time it was perfect. Except for that time it parked a little crooked. Below average isnt my thought of it though. It was and did what it should Nothing more Nothing less so it was good. Not average
I did watch the Toyota clip and in my eyes it didnt do better. It was the same. It just had more strange behaviour and maybe not the most easy system. I mean it did try to park wrong in parallel parking. Volvos system was easier to manage, could be visual better looking, but still easier. And to be frank it wasnt that slow.

Incorrect. You have to blink before parking. This is taught at driving school.

The pauses could be a programed safe check to make sure no one is walking, biking or driving in the path.
